..One day among the world-wide ruins of derelict factories and warehouses and office buildings, there stood only a single, shining, windowless structure with no entrance and no exit. Inside would be — will be — only a dense network of computers calculating profits. Outside will be tribes of savage vagrants with no comprehension of the nature or purpose of the shining, windowless structure. Perhaps they will worship it as a god. Perhaps they will try to destroy it…
one thing that pisses me off about the whole subprime thing is the sheer ignorance of poor people. i guess its because the way i was raised, and my parents always instilling in me "if something is too good to be true, don't fall for it" and "never buy things you can't afford". But this common sense goes right over the heads of the people who fell for this shit. I grew up poor, my dad drove a taxi his whole life, but even he knew the basic rules of life
@jumar1281 Its a bit of a red herring to simply blame poor people. They shouldn't shoulder most of the blame here. In the movie, its clear that even educated, professional people who review loans for a LIVING couldn't get a grip on these financial instruments.
@jumar1281 your fucking ignorant they were lie too when giving this subprime loans next actually understand the movie before blaming targeted minorities

Watching things like this just remove absolutely all doubt in my mind that one day we will wake, similarly to the way we woke up on 9/11, to see images on the news of a smoking heap of rubble where there was once a building at 85 Broad (Goldman Sachs).
Funny we should see this so much differently now. But you are right JejuLee. We look now at the destruction of the Financial Institutions completely different, don't we. No one wants to see Americans die...but you know what, maybe we should find a way to foreclose on these assholes!
The levels of intentional, institutional corruption are so many and so deep, we stand very little chance of getting out of this. In an ideal world, the people responsible would be held to account.
I just saw this movie at the Beverly Hills Music Hall theatre. Believe it or not, you should see this film at a theatre because it's a good looking film. It was either shot on film or on very good quality video.
One of the most fucked up about these kinds of deals is that the lender can raise premiums as they see fit. Whether it's mortgages or other bank loans, or insurance on health or auto, they can arbitrary raise your premiums without any notice. How is this legal? Why do we, The People, put up with this fraud? Over time they make you pay more and give you less in return. Everyone has to experience this. It's absurd. It's irrational. It's a Crime Against Humanity.
Yeah, great detail about the reality that is largely going unreported. I really liked the way Jonathan put it - they were either inconceivably stupid and coincidentally created this scheme, or they did it on purpose.
In other words, everyone involved is either literally retarded or a criminal - and we didn't demand their resignations or jail time, we gave them the bailout.
The next question is, what does that say about those who gave the bailouts? Too stupid to run a country, or too criminal?
Who would? Not TYT, that's why this one review is 18 minutes long whereas the Kanye clips are far shorter. Not YouTube, tv broadcasts are often subject to strict copyright laws.
