Full race cam, high compression pistons, headers, weber carbs, ported and polished the head and more. I would take it to the valley, just north of where we car kids would go to hang out and race for 20-50 bucks. There was a hot girl who would race her fast Corvette with this painted on her quarter panels, “if you can beat me you can eat me” I never got lucky
I sold it a few years later for 250, and got a Mach 1 Mustang with a 429 and did a little work to it. Now this was a scary fast car with I sold a few years later for 2250. I wish I had never sold those babies. Oh yea I got a ticket on the 405 doing 156 racing a 454 Corvette, we stayed next to each other until the red lights came on behind us. Spent 3 weekends in LA county in cells meant for 4 and there were never less than 7.

This was a I6. what v8 sounds like that even with a missing cylinder. also look at the side shot under the hood, what V8 stands that high with a sidemount carb.
If it was a v8 in it you would only be able to see the breather and not apart of the valve cover and head thats sitting just as high as the carb and breather is in this video.
V8 sound 100% diffrent then a I6. A I6 sounds like when someones saying a long V sound.

This would be fun to do but what a waste. when i pulled the inline 6 from my nova i sold it to a guy for an easy $150 which bought me a nice performance cam for the V8 i was building.
Thats the way I took it too, As it had already thrown a rod and was going to be pulled and re-built... I'll have to say, running on five outta six, it still sounds pretty healthy! I'll say normally I wouldn't likea video like this, but if its already screwed then why not? Heck, me and my Dad blew a 250 up, it had rod knock so loud that you could hear it over the exhaust and it was running with just the manifold... It was REALLY bad.

the GM inline sixes are great engines. I have a little pickup for around the property with a GM straight 6. it's a very old and worn engine which needs a rebuild very badly, but it always starts and keeps running. I threw a high performance exhaust on it and it's pretty fun to rev it and make it backfire .. sounds like a little race car. this engine design has changed little since the 1940s and they made it up through the 1980s. lots of torque. extremely reliable and fuel efficient.
wow. my straight six is still doing fine too. did you actually ever put a v8 in it? and do you drive it alot? because my straight six in my FORD mustang gets 28 miles to the gallon. low on horsepower but it sips gas, unlike a v8.
Some people are just retarded, You can damage an engine to the point where you CANNOT rebuild it. But the engine may still run for a short period of time. The V8 sho is a great example. Cam failure causes the valves to open at the wrong time, causing the piston to slam into them, Causing massive internal damage sometimes. You cant rebuild shit like that. You might has well hook at chain to it, and use it as a boat anchor. I bet half the people who comment cant rebuild a lawn mower.

the GM inline sixes are great engines. I have a little pickup for around the property with a GM straight 6. it's a very old and worn engine which needs a rebuild very badly, but it always starts and keeps running. I threw a high performance exhaust on it and it's pretty fun to rev it and make it backfire .. sounds like a little race car. this engine design has changed little since the 1940s and they made it up through the 1980s. lots of torque. extremely reliable and fuel efficient.

wow. my straight six is still doing fine too. did you actually ever put a v8 in it? and do you drive it alot? because my straight six in my FORD mustang gets 28 miles to the gallon. low on horsepower but it sips gas, unlike a v8.

Some people are just retarded, You can damage an engine to the point where you CANNOT rebuild it. But the engine may still run for a short period of time. The V8 sho is a great example. Cam failure causes the valves to open at the wrong time, causing the piston to slam into them, Causing massive internal damage sometimes. You cant rebuild shit like that. You might has well hook at chain to it, and use it as a boat anchor. I bet half the people who comment cant rebuild a lawn mower.
