  • used to play this when i was 6 .....played untill I reached earth on 1 credit.....when I play it nowadays I cannot reach that far....

  • I have this Game on my Game Boy.

  • If yer looking for a decent live version of this song, search for Vanessa Mae, Toccata and Fuge in D minor.

  • @zaphodb777 The original game music was fairly heavily based on a version of the Toccata by a British band called Sky (no relation to the soul band Skyy) which featured classical guitarist John Williams (no relation to the Star Wars composer). Sky's version of Toccata was released a short time before the game came out.

  • Commodore 64 version rocks!

  • @00Skyfox

Not in my opinion. The C64 conversion was really poorly done soundwise. It sounded like a recording of a polka band version, playing it on accordians, while somebody flicks the volume up and down over and over!

  • Sounds better than on MAME!!

  • AH YES, phantom of the opera. (song)

  • Bach's Toccata & Fugue in D minor, actually......trust me, this was one of my all time favorites. I spent every available quarter I had in the 4th grade playing this gem.

  • This has slowly become one of my favorite classic arcade games of all time. Play is addictive, pace is great, and the music is one of the best out there. 5 stars.

  • used to love this game for the nes!!!

  • Okay, now I'm 19 again and playing this game in the basement of the Student Union at Queens College. Days gone by...

  • I was soooo good at this game when it was in the arcade......

  • I NEED THAT SONG!!!!1

  • can somebody tell me how can i play this game on the net?

  • Part of me agrees with that...

  • MAME32 software provides an emulator (with 100% all original effects and sound) for around 4.000 games from the 70´s to 2001. Including Gyruss.

  • Yeah, the music in this game was freaking incredible at the time, even if it was just an arrangement of a classic.

  • original mainboards fitted on that cabinets used five AY 3-8910 DAC processors to generate musics and sound. For 1983... was something like the best sound effects we have today.

  • The musical theme is Toccata and Fugue in D Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach...WoW!! JC

  • love the music

  • I agree with you. AWESOME music!

  • I spent many a dollar on this game when I was in college. I never made it past Jupiter, I think.

  • If I hadn't played so much Gyruss in 7th grade I could have bought a better car in HS. I loved this game.

  • Is it at all possible to create your own arcade cabinet with multiple games? I've heard all sorts of stuff on the subject.

  • I would give anything to have my own Gyruss cabinet. I got the NES cart...

  • I am jealous of the Gyruss cab.

  • i LOVED THIS game cool music
