Just watching leif singing this song has cheered me up no end, in what is a very sad time for me. If ever i am sad i always listen to leif and go back in time to my carefree teenage years when leif ruled my world!
@hah13 sorry but in leifs case even if he couldnt sing a note id love his version of any song much better than the original, but he really does sound better than many original artists.
I personally think that ALL of Leif's renditions of the classics SURPASS the original recordings, precisely because of his smooth, soft, velvety vocals. Just as you can see his heart in his eyes, you can hear it in his sweet voice. Now if somebody would just tell him to HURRY UP and record again.......we're waiting!!!!!
I wasn't serious when I wrote those last 2 lines; as an occasional songwriter, I intended only to maintain the metre of Leif's song. Notice that the lines: "if you were a lady" and "'would you have my baby" both consist of 6 syllables/beats (across the line), ending in direct rhymes. I then wrote "well, I don't know maybe" followed by "definitely maybe" to match the 6-syllable count of the preceding lines in Leif's song. I wasn't ACTUALLY responding to Leif's question ("would you have my baby?")
