Great video. Only thing is that 99.99% of the people buying this are going to put PDF files in there, but there has yet to be a youtube review on how they perform with PDFs (both published and scanned PDFs. I'm starting to think the reviewers either work for Sony or Amazon. Please give me hope.
I mainly buy programming books as PDFs. Have you tested the PDF rendering? Does it retain layout and images? How's the resolution? Can the screen show a single A4/Letter PDF page on the screen?
I've tried some dev books on the Reader, and it manages pretty well. The text on an A4 page is a bit small to read comfortably (the device will display it though), but it does retain layout, images etc. If you have the option to reformat the PDF as A5, you'll fare a lot better.
Some of the prog book publishers have Reader-specific versions (like Pragmatic), and they look great. If you're looking for a device for A4 PDFs, the Reader isn't really for you - try an Iliad or ideally a Kindle DX.
Superb review, thanks very much!

I just ordered a 505! They aren't being manufactured any more, and I've read they are one of the best readers out there.
I also have a Mac, but I believe the new Sony software comes in a Mac version. Do you know if that's so?

As mentioned in the video, yes you can - text files, RTF, PDF, epub, etc.
