  • About to rotate on the taxiway...

  • I am amazed by the attitude of many here. This is an idiot pilot operating in a highly unsafe manner. And as a fellow aviator it is my business. Because every time a jackass like this screws up it effects us all. That's why we are over regulated today. So yes its every pilots business when someone acts this stupid putting life and limb in jeopardy.

  • Why don't you go to the police with this footage instead of posting this crap on Youtube?

  • How about you mind your own business....Unless You're an FAA inspector, you have no place to be critical of the pilot. Did he taxi way to fast? Yes, but it's still not your prerogative to be throwing 91.13 at him. Let him find out on his own how dangerous it is to taxi like that...

  • @914GAC The aviation community works by pilots following standardized rules and procedures, and benefits from having good safe minded people looking out for each other. It is every pilot's duty to ensure safe practices by all pilots, and this one surely busted the safety margin. How about next time a drunk driver is careening out of control, you just let them go....after all, maybe they'll learn on their own.....or kill a whole family down the road. Same situation here.

  • You're all just hyperactive whining bitches. It really wasn't that bad.

Yes, he could have taxi slower, but a snail doesn't have to beat him.

  • Safeviator thats pretty ridiculous that you video taped him and put it on youtube. You are definitely the guy at the airport that no one likes because you do stupid stuff like this. I would avoid you at all costs. By the way, I agree he was taxiing too fast, but come on! Waiting around to catch him on film like your gonna turn him in and use it as evidence? Find another hobby besides annoying people.

  • @garrett490 I have to agree with you. Just because you have a shiny new digital

camcorder and a laptop dosen't mean you should post stuff like that. If I were that

pilot and I saw that vid I'd be pissed and I'd probably go looking for the guy who posted it. Yes, he was taxiing way too fast but rather than taping him, why don't you just go and tell him he was going too fast.

  • must be practicing to be a southwest pilot :)

  • Grass what a snitch

  • The only way to totally avoid risks in aviation is to totally avoid aviation. If a tire blows, damage may or may not occur. I've had 2 blown tires on landing, once in a Cherokee 6 and once in a Cessna 206, both times on gravel runways. Once the tire goes, there is incredible drag, but nothing close to a loss of control. Nothing reckless there. Watch the CHT guage next time you're tooling around on the ground. The less time you run the engine on the ground, the better. It's air cooled, taxi fast!

  • I would say he's taxiing at about 20 knots or so.

I only taxi that fast if I am trying to get someone pissed off enough to make a Youtube video about me and my rude habits.

  • yeah thats maybe a bit of a hot taxi, but not THAT big of a deal. its not like he was about to rotate lol

  • That guy was almost at V1 speed... Jeez

  • @agentfazexx because a C182 seriously has a V1 speed right? lol

    fail.

  • @iflyc77 You don't think a C182 has V1, wow you obviously don't fly.

  • @agentfazexx

I am actually a CFI/I with about 40 hours in the 182 series. The 182 has no published V1 speed. I dont see why it would have one, because if you were above it and lost an engine...how would you continue the takeoff? It also has no published stop distances or performance charts that could be used to calculate V1.

It does have a Vr for rotation of course though.

Go back and play flite simulator some more

  • @agentfazexx errrr......Tell me, how would one take off on one engine?

  • @agentfazexx errrr......Tell me, how would one take off on one engine in a single engine aircraft?

  • i''ve taxied faster than that before, if he owns the plane why give him any trouble for it. he knows the risk.

if its rented that's another story

  • If he wants to go fast on the ground he should of bought a car

  • Maybe he had to take a piss?

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, for driving. For flying, I have a certificate.

  • What FAR is he breaking?

  • I have no doubt that the FSDO could cite him with a "Careless and Reckless" 91.13. This isn't a car with ABS, etc. If this guy needed to stop its not going to happen anytime fast.

  • Nothing wrong with that you grassing tosser. I bet you have thick glasses and spots and couldn't get a date at the prom.

This was not an unsafe speed and I can't believe you posted it to get the pilot in trouble. You should do the decent thing and remove it and make an apology - we don't need people like you in aviation.

  • That's about the fastest I've ever seen anyone taxi in 15 years.

  • pfffftt

  • @robert

yeah thats the problem it is getting worse these days younger "dumber" pilots think they own the joint ok so l am a AME but we both study the same rules and regulations l'm new in the feild and am already sick of it

  • You first.

  • Gee, what other regs do you know?? Is it your idea of fun to play "cop" and go around trying to tell on people?? Get over it! Nothing about that was unsafe, and for that matter safety is at the PIC's discretion... You must have been the guy who commented about how "unprofessional" it was to roll the Citation~ If you are a pilot, stand back and enjoy it for a minute would ya....

  • At high taxi speeds any gust of wind can cause uncontrollable vear or even undesired liftoff. Not any pilots favourite flight condition when recovery space is limited. Taxi over 20 Kts is never safe unless the air is completly still.

  • i taxi at 30 all the time, not near people or other planes but on the way to the end of the runway

  • Nope, just a pilot who is concerned about unsafe operations at the airport. FAR 91.13 "No person may operate an aircraft in a careless or reckless manner so as to endanger the life or property of another." Consider what a wheel or control failure at this speed would do, especially near the FBO.

  • wow i agree. dang, it looks like he was on his landing rollout. WAY too fast...

hah was this guy never taught "no faster than a brisk walk while taxiing" or what haha

  • No shit. This asshole just cruised by at nearly half takeoff speed.

  • @saksdbstevens Sorry, I am a 25 year pilot and this is unsafe! No question about it.

  • Well, maybe you should sue the pilot for his unbelievable criminal offence! Or a skydiver on board forced him to do so...
