You can watch and listen to Thanh Lan sing on December 12, 2010 at 3:300PM at the Saigon Performning Art Center, 16149 Brookhurst St, Foundtain Valley, CA 92708.
Dear Miss Vanchus, Please do not take my remarks as a criticism of your performance, it was beautiful. I thought that the musical backing was not full enough, for that type of song a nice string backing to fill the gaps after the 8th bar raising to a crescendo and a fuller backing to go along with the melody. Try listening to the way that this song has been recorded by the big names. I think that you have the ability to go far. I wish you all the luck to go far. My best wishes Bryan.
@BryanHereford Hehehe, No need to feel uneasy about your comments. I was just trying to understand what you really meant as I did not get it. Thank you for your explaination. By the way, Thanh Lan is my favorite singer, Vanchus is me, and it 's a boy! hehehe.
I think you are right. This song was recorded in the early 70s when Western Pop was still an exotic taste of music in Vietnam ( South Vietnam only by the way, North Vietnam would still imprison the people who tried to listen to western music back then).
Things get better now as you can easily find this kind of music in Vietnam nowadays.
The original was written in SPANISH as "La Novia" (The Bride) by chilean composer/singer Antonio Prieto, and made a hit in french by Gloria Lasso and Ginette Reno during the late 1950s.

Yes I liked this, but it just needed a bit more accompaniment, your voice is beautiful. Kind regards Bryan.
