SUPERB! I looked far and wide to find a SUNG version identical to the lyrics from "Cool Hand Luke" and you nailed it. FWIW the movie has Luke singing this as a tribute to his dead mom, I believe they are trying to tell us it's the only song Luke knows with any spiritual content, or maybe he is "playing it cool" knowing his mom was a "plastic Jesus" christian, professing to believe but living a secular life. In any event, I've sugn the "Luke" version for decades, (poorly) and you did great

There is a version by Mojo Nixon and Jello Biafra which is a good bit faster than the normal version - it also includes a ton more of the different verses (theres easily 30-40 different verses out there for this song, so a lot of artists just pick and choose for fun).

Yuou shuld do the entire song, I thin I am the onlyone in the world who has the entire thing, unbutchered - yeah, yeah, I know there are many versions, but I have hillbilly relatives who swear by it and I can send you the several diverse verses if you want them cuz you diid do a nice job.
