  • Hey, the stop may not be perfect, but at least he does it exactly when you want him to!

Any tips on teaching the sliding stop? I'd really love to learn how. Did you teach Sky?

    Btw very nice horse!! =D

  • is that your horse?

Hes so pretty is he a quarter?

  • Yes, Sky is my boy, and he is a quarter horse. Thank You! :)

  • Hehehe, you looked really good on him. Don't worry about the stop at least he did it when you asked him to. I had the opportunity to ride a POA that had a couple months of professional reining training and he would randomly (rider error) stop right during a canter. Oooops!~

    Best of luck with Sky!

  • Thank you! I am really excited about him, and hopefully with some more practice I will get better at sitting those stops. :) I definetly know what you mean about them stopping all over -the first time I rode him after he had been with Tom a few months I had to be so careful about shifting my weight or he would start to stop. Then when I was cooling him down, the girls though it was so hilarious to just shout "Whoah" and have him stop out from under me! :)
