These women who "can't jump" are still touching above 10 feet for the most part on a 7'4" net. In comparison, the guys are touching 11.5 feet on an 8 foot net. Yes, the women's game is not as high or fast as the mens game, but to say that these women can't jump is ludicrous.

The point of a jump serve is not to hit it as hard as possible (if you wanted pure velocity there are many better ways to do it). The point is to minimize the passer's reaction time by serving inside the endline and to create a downward trajectory on the ball. Sure, you could stand back and crank a ball as hard as you could from the ground, but good luck keeping it in bounds.

What I like about this video:
1. Here is a great jump serve.
2. Bowling toss for nice height.
3. Out in front for max velocity
4. Great reach and follow through with armswing and hand.
