  • " i want independence becuase its cool " ha ha great answer kid

  • What currency does Salmond want to use?

  • @david78937

    Euro, I believe.

  • @MrJahka pff, I doubt the Scots would want to risk the Euro, unless we have a huge economic shift in the next two years.

  • Feck sake, dont let 16 year olds vote. The SNP only want 16 year olds to vote because thats the only way they will win this thing.

  • Great to see all the antagonistic trolls are out.

Stop wanking, get a job,get a girlfriend and get an education.

Scotland will get its independence,no matter what nonsense is spouted form your acne scarred chops. If you thought its about being anti-English,then how fucking thick are you?

Go off to your football match and vent your rascism and keep out of Scotland's politics until you know the facts.

  • The UK is 300 years old. If over 10 percentage points can be swung in 2 years, is it really valid to use a single snapshot to break up a 300 year old institution? What happens if in the next year it swings back another 10 percent.

If Scotland does remain we need to draw up a formal constitution which states you either need super-majority to secede or a say 2 consecutive "yes" votes.

Seems like we're just getting blackmailed atm.

  • @N330AA The Irish haven't regretted separating from UK, Singapore isn't jumping into the arms of Malaysia, Taiwan doesn't wanna be ruled by Beijing.

East Timor doesnt wanna be part of Indonesia or Portugal.

    No country regrets breaking away...

  • @tri400 East Germany? Hong Kong? North Korea?

  • what ever happens it will be because the zionists want it to happen !

  • watch?v=ogZSIUw9zf4

  • Alex sammond is a complete idiot, the only reason why he wants to give the vote to 16 year olds because the idea of independence is so ridiculous and immature.

  • Oh yeah, of course. 16 year olds know enough about politics to be able to make an educated vote. The only reason Salmond wants these kids to vote is because they're easily poisoned and he knows that most intelligent adults in Scotland view the idea of independence utterly absurd. For the rest of you morons that think rubbing it in our faces is a good idea, get a brain, grow out of your pathetic nationalist spiteful shells, and realise that you're better off with us than you are without us!

  • @albabhoy81 There was a poll!?

  • Maybe some paintball battles at places like Falkirk, Bannockburn and Stirling bridge could decide the matter.

  • I live in edinburgh and everybody i know wants full independence. The rigged polls are wrong but you will find that out in 2014.the english empire is finished when scotland goes the falkland islands and northern ireland will be next.you then will be left with wales and yourselves.thats what i call a empire ?.

  • @scotkickass wtf cares about an empire you silly cunt..sad scots inferiority complex strikes again!

  • VOTE YES

  • @DFOLTOfficial

Agreed, Vote yes, let's get those worthless Scotch freeloaders out of our country for good.

  • i am english and dearly hope the yes vote wins

  • @Englishjustice66 me too would be the best thing to happen to England in centuries

  • @johnsmith4442 Here here. Westminster needs to get it's priorities sorted out. They're selling England Scotland Ireland and Wales by the pound. It's time for the English to reclaim England. Peace brother.

  • Yes to independence no to be England's lap dog, time to stand on our own feet and develop our own national identity.

  • Comment removed

  • @madhammudeux He never said he hated the English and we are more or less your lap dog. Financial security? 1.4trillion in debt.. hmmm....

  • @DFOLTOfficial

Yeh you are our lap dog. But not because of Westminster. Rather it's because London based corporations own your entire country. Please get the fuck out of our Union Asap. we don't need any more dead weight.

  • @92LiamO

your national identity? What's that? Kilts and Haggis?

You're never going to have a national identity because you're a tiny pissant 3rd rate country. No one gives a shit about Scotland, even the Scotts don't want to live there. All it does is piss down with rain, whilst you huddle together moaning about how hard done you are by the English.

Seriously can we have the referendum this year, just so we can get rid of you ASAP?

  • @madhammudeux No one gives a shit about Scotland

Except well you for coming on videos and leaving diatribe if you dont care. . . dont comment.

  • Let's all go our own way, drag the queen out of her posh council palace, elect our own presidents, prime ministers, wage a war against each other and be done with it. I can't stand nationalists, nor the human race for that matter. Roll on a new virus.

  • The other UK countries are NOT being allowed to vote on this issue. I believe that's because the government feels that a Scottish ONLY vote, mean's that Scotland just might choose to stay in the Union. I also believe that if Scotland choose's to go her own way; she will then be forced (by her ex) to use the Euro, and all the merde that goes with it. Common sense dictates that when the Scots (certain residents of Scotland ONLY) vote on this, it must be done with the head, and not the heart.

  • 51% said yes in the latest poll.

  • @albabhoy81

Great, keep up the good work. If we all work hard we can insure the worthless Scotts are no longer a blight on our nation.

  • @madhammudeux lol can't remember what I said. Don't care how we leave the union as long as we do.

    SAOR ALBA!!

  • I am not a nationalist however I reckon I would be supporting an independent Scotland because the other political parties such as Tories and Labour have taken Scotland for granted. I have felt that over the past few months policies supported by Labour would have an adverse effect on Scotland such as the Daylight Saving Bill. I dont want to see Scotland leave the UK however without the SNP, Scottish peoples needs are not considered in Westminster and really it is the fault of Labour and Tories.

  • cant wait to get rid of scotland, brings us closer to english independence

  • Yawn another biased report. Shove your TV channel up your lying fat 'british arses; you cants

  • Look at them all playing guessing games, you cheeky fools. Do you do it when its labour v tories? Everyone is so biased when it comes to the SNP, they HATE the fact that Scotland doesn't want england.

  • Belgium may split no-one suggests that the part with Brussels would not be part of the E.U.

When Belgium becomes two new countries both would remain in the E.U.

The E.U. parliament would remain in Brussels.

From Poland to Portugal there are no borders within the E.U. Having one closed border at Scotland/England when nothing at all exists on the Northern Ireland/Southern Ireland border is just plain daft, in fact plain lies.

  • Its has been argued for many years that the voting age be lowered to 16.

At 16 you can be working, live alone and pay rent, marry have kids, pay tax.

Therefore at 16 years old one should have the right to vote.

There are many 40 years olds too stupid to vote.

At 17 you can drive join the forces pay tax; why then should you not have the vote like everyone else?

A small faraway land introduced votes for women and brought in old age pensions.

    That country was New Zealand.

  • last week's AMENDED LABOUR REFERENDUM MOTION:

"Parliament recognises the mandate given to the Scottish government...to hold a referendum..

    agrees it is the responsibility of the Scottish Parliament to decide the timing and arrangements...;

    welcomes autumn 2014 as the date;

believes that 16 and 17-year-olds on the electoral roll should have the opportunity to vote, as it is their future along with everyone else's that will be determined by the result;... "

    [motion was passed]

  • Why 16?

The age of majority for most things in Scotland is 16. And lowering the voting age has been under discussion here for ages. For at least 3 years, it has been discussed and in relation to AV, not independence. It might surprise English people to know had strong cross-party support at the most senior level in Scotland.

What you should ask yourselves is why you didn't know that either at the time or recently, and why you thought it was a new move, and why you thought it was the SNP alone.

  • Meh, as long as England is fine i dont care.

  • Bring down the voting age to sixteen? What a stupid idea. WTF do teenagers care about politics?

  • At least in an independent Scotland we would get to vote on EU membership...how "authoritarian" is that. x :P

  • Alex Salmond? google Hollie Greig!

  • Correct me if I'm wrong I thought the SNP are all for the EU. If so what independence does Scotland actually gain. That's jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. Or cutting off your nose to spite your face. If they were not to join the EU or leave (not sure how it works). I can see that being a good move and working but if they stay in. It means all this to me is just another load of bull shit.

  • @Acar4youNewZealand Scotland is already in the EU as part of the UK. Once independent we would be a member state rather than a region gaining increased voting rights.

We gain - Corporation tax, income tax, VAT, the crown estate, control of our natural resources, end to nuclear weapons next to our largest city, our own seat at the UN, a seat at the council of Europe, the choice of what wars we fight etc.

Basically for every 1 power we lose to the EU we gain something like 10 from the UK.

  • @neredis1 I heard SNP already studied the Québec référendum of 1995 couple years ago from the Québécois party information and they don't plan to fall down into the same unionist trap like we fall ! we loose by less than 2% only, it's umbelievable the way Unionist cheat! If you can get the full independance do it or you'll regret.

  • @neredis1 Thanks for the reply and giving your point of view and some facts.

I personally think it would be an excellent move for Scotland and it's people.

And along time coming. But full independence from EU UK is needed, or may be along the lines of Norway or Switzerland. Would make Scotland a little power house.

    Good luck and thanks again

. Scotland would be a little power house in it's own right. So Scotland be Brave

Anyway I'm boring living on the arse end of the world

  • @Acar4youNewZealand And even if we joined the Euro, it would make very little difference. When the bank of England sets monitory policy they first listen to what 'the city' has to say on the issue, then they do what's in the best interests of the South East of England. They only consider Scotland's needs if they don't clash with what the south needs. So London, Brussels, what's the difference? At least Brussels doesn't dump nuclear weapons in our rivers and send our kids to die abroad.

  • @neredis1 Brilliant

  • @Acar4youNewZealand Yes you are wrong, but I wont bother to correct you, you're too boring.

  • @segano1 If I"m that boring why did you bother to reply you fucking idiot

  • @Acar4youNewZealand Because you had to be told you fuckin dumb Kiwi Cunt.

  • @segano1

I may be a fuckin dumb kiwi cunt, But it is better than being a wee man my friend

  • It really does puzzle me how such an authoritarian party can be so popular...

  • Stephenie Meyer at 2:15 only makes it worse.
