I've read the book by Nancy's mother Deborah and there's not a doubt in my mind that Nancy suffered from severe mental illness most of her life that was either misdiagnosed or mistreated by doctors with fewer options and less understanding. What sucks is that dope was probably the only thing that gave her happiness while she was alive.

That Nancy wasn't wanted is just not true. She was very much loved by her family, but she had put them through hell all throughout her upbringing. Some of it terrifying behavior from a very young age. Her mother wrote a book titled: And I Don't Want to Live This Life: A Mother's Story of Her Daughter's Murder by Deborah Spungen.

I remember in 1978, I was fourteen then, seeing the famous picture of Sid and Nancy posing by a huge Never Mind the Bollocks poster. I was outraged and angry. Those two contributed nothing to the pistols, I looked at them with hatred and contempt. I now realise that they were basically two children who both died alone and unwanted.Very sad.

rockets killes her, there was a struggle and all their money was gone he went there that night with no drugs when she called him , he knew they had money and he wanted it Sid was sooo high he didnt remember anything any they questioned him under extreme distress and after taking a large amount of drugs efveryone that knew him said he couldnt have killed her and she beat him as well their fighting was mutually brutal it was NOT only Sid, Nancy wanted to die

Rockets Redglare went atound saying that he was the Son of Sam killer until David Berkowitz was arrested. He even used to call the police when high to "confess" and the officers would tell him to fuck off and quit wasting their time.

I don't know why the "RR did it" theory is still out there when it's been disproven time and again by the simple fact that RR was a glory seaker and a liar.

He said to police that he didn't bring D-4's the night of the murder, he brought D-4's.

@lesterclaypool1 wow thank you for the info ,but he was seen bumming dollars the day before the murder and the next day had leather pants and new boots ive read everything on this story and while i dont really know what happened cuz i was not there alot of clues point to him and its a fact they had just received a large royalty from Sid's album ,its a little coincidental that he knew Nancy had money and he went despite not having the supply she was looking for and there is also the phone call

He had the Dilauded (D-4's) that Nancy had asked him for, he lied to the cops and said that he didn't because they would have busted him. You can say that you kept your eyes out for drugs for someone but saying that you got them is a confession to a crime. Rockets' record in this is the police record, as he is now dead, but those in the know know that he delivered that night..

Rockets was a neat character, but you had to take anything he said as a half truth, at best.

Who Killed Nancy, while an interesting watch if only to observe the crazy silence and secrets that permeate junkie culture, is an Alan G Parker affair, so I would take it with the grain of salt that it deserves.

About Sid being out, Tuinal, like all barbiturates, was a funny drug in that one minute you'd be almost in a coma and the next you'd be ready to get up and dance for 20 minutes. I think Nancy hurt herself, but Sid's having taken a shitload of Tuinal does not eliminate him.

As far as any money missing. Police didn't secure the crime scene right away, so anyone could have nicked money after the fact or the police, themselves, could have taken it. My theory, however, is that the money was spread around a junk dry city in different hands trying to buy heroin, or some other opiate, at greatly inflated prices because of the shortage. Let's use the figure of $1400: 7 people holding $200 each of the money trying to score for them and the money is gone.

Let's entertain an armed robbery: Dr. Baden, the most well regarded pathologist in the free world, who conducted the autopsy said that it took Nancy 3 hours to bleed out and die so she had plenty of time to scream, telephone, or even physically walk 4 doors down to an aquaintence's room for help. I think that Nancy was fucking around with the knife hurt herself and felt stupid about it being a proud woman. I think Nancy's pride caused her death, nothing and no one else.

I still don't know, but it really does seem plausible. But, don't you think she'd WANT the attention about such a wound, from Sid especially? Perhaps she accidentally pushed too deep, and was waiting around for him to notice, with being in and out of consciousness all night?

His story changed a shit load of times during interviwing, too: In one version she was alive when he woke up. He did it, he didn't do it, someone else did it, she did it. To friends: Money was missing, money wasn't missing, he did it, he didn't do it, someone else did it, she did it.

I've seen the interview with Sid after Nancy's death a million and one times, but every time I see it, it kills me a little inside when he says he wants to be under the ground. I really think if he hadn't gotten with Nancy to begin with, his life wouldn't have ended like that. Granted, with someone like Sid, he surely wouldn't have lived to old age. But Nancy's heroin addiction and instability only fueled the fire. There's no way I'll ever believe Sid killed her. Poor thing.. <3 Sid RIP

I used to think the same until I read the book and its a FACT that the girl was very sick since the day she was born. At that time Drs couldnt figure out what was wrong with her but her family went through hell growing up with her...very very sad story ("And i dont want to live this life")

They also had a "party" the night of Nancy's death where Nancy was trying to score H though the city was dry.
