@ cricketears: Yes. I was at that Poconos show where I saw & heard Son Seals for the first, but not last time. I was enthralled with his performance. His music will live on in the hearts and souls of blues fans everywhere.
great quality--the real Son Seals! one of my top ten blues performances was his set at pocono Blues festival in early nineties--2 hours straight cookin' from start to finish--awsome intensity!
ole Son was he real thing. Lord how I would have liked to see him live in person. Thanks for posting this, I had a different version I recorded off a blues show back in the 80's, unfortunately, I let it go.
The video has this song named as "Baby Please". The name of the song is "On My Knees". It can be found on the recording, "Midnight Son". It may be elsewhere, but it is listed on that record. Frankly, I love the live version. The tempo suits me better than the 1975 or '76 recording. Don't get me wrong... it's the same great song, just a different feel. Thanks for posting this video.
I'm not sure what's funny about folks dancing to truly great music... They had the good sense to go to the gig in the first place and once there, got into it in the way performers like most. These people are groovin'! When our band plays, I always watch the folks dancing ,even if there are just a few in the back, as this seems to be... that appreciation is what makes songs played live work in the first place. I'd rather sing to a few people dancing than 100's who didn't or wouldn't participate.
You won't believe this, but the reason this ends where it does is because this was pulled from a video in which they cut from the solo to Son being interviewed. Crazy, stupid even, I know.
This Is my friends grandpa! Jasmine Seals. ;)
