Hey Krazeeates! Man, long time no see! Are you still with Rat Fink in Iowa? Email me on gmail and lets catch up. I have a line on a telco opportunity for you in Dallas if you are interested. I agree, coppercom 1500 was THE soft switch to work with. I actually left an ILEC once they dumped the coppercoms krazeeates is speaking of. A Clec in Dallas I am working with now is still using coppercom. I guess I will go back to field maintenance if they ever mothball the coppercom line.
Coppercom had THE BEST class 5 softswitch, 5 star support, training, and one helluva nice facility in Boca Raton! The independent telco I work for purchased 6 of these softswitches to replace Stromberg DCOs. Following Coppercom's demise, we went with Nortel CS-1500's and gosh what a BAD DECISION! Most of us CO techs were pushing for Metaswitch, but the man with the cash got his beloved Nortel. Nothing, from the GUI to the CLI could ever be as user friendly as coppercom. VER SAD TO SEE THEM GO:(
