30,000 protestant churches? The gates of hell shall never prevail against the Catholic Church. Peter 3, 15 And consider the patience of our Lord as salvation, as our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, also wrote to you, 16 speaking of these things as he does in all his letters. In them there are some things hard to understand that the ignorant and unstable distort to their own destruction, just as they do the other scriptures. End of quote. 30,000 and counting? :)
May God Bless the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, founded by Jesus Christ upon St. Peter. May she continue to be a beacon of light in these sad times.
Uhhhh are people seriously lumping all Protestants under one category? Yes, I am a Protestant ( Methodist), Yes, I know how Methodism came to be. But seriously! Please do not think all Protestants and or Protestant churches are actually anti-catholic! If that were true I wouldn't be dating a catholic
@Celticdaughter85 So you "know how Methodism came to be", but are still a Methodist? So you know that it is a false religion based on false religions based on a truncated and error-filled version of the Truth? The very NATURE of PROTESTantism is anti-Catholic; it is a PROTEST against Catholicism. And "dating" a Catholic? I pray it ends the only good way it can - with you converting to the truth. Otherwise, he's in a problematic situation vis-a-vis his duties to the Church (marriage, kids etc.)
Protestantism is completely man-made. Use the brain that God gave you and research it on your own. Go to unbiased sources. Not just people who will continue to brainwash you.
Great teaching style ! When I was Protestant, I realized the unity of the sects: Anti-Catholicism. As Christ lived in the world, so does the Catholic Church live today: still offering Him as Sacrifice for the many, and still being persecuted.
Wisdom 1:16, 2:12-20: The roots of Anti-Catholicism
I rebuke any of my protestant brothers that ever say that about Catholics. I know serious Catholics have a serious faith in Christ.
I believe in this Christ: "... I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father..."
I love your videos they are so honest and true to the faith. I really wish more Protestants would listen to them and explore what the Early Church actually taught and not what their peachers tell them what was taught. I know not all the ECFs got everything right but you can see over time what the True Church taught through the ages and that the True Church was centered on the Eucharist 1st and then the Bible (which did not even exist for 1st 300+ years).
I have two questions, if gods so powerful and great, and he wants All of the world to come to him, why would he make the mistake of just placing His gospel in one place? Aren't there more nations than one? 2nd, So we follow him, do good our whole lives and get to heaven. Then what? That's it? If god loves us so much and is all powerful, wouldn't he want more for us than that?
@0117Killer1 One) This is why God made the Church, with its mission to spread the Gospel to all men.
Two) What more is there than being with God and being completely fulfilled? Heaven is not sitting around on clouds and playing harps - it is being in the presence of love itself. There is nothing more than that which could be desired.
@SaintMichaelsMedia One) But at 800 AD spreading the gospel to all the world wasn't exactly possible. What about the Indians from North America, the Asians? Wouldn't he want them to be saved as well?
Two) He keeps telling us to come follow him, and to keep his commandments, I was thinking about this, and it seems like thats what a teacher does, and a teacher wants his students to be like him doesn't he? Wouldn't god want the same for us?
@0117Killer1 And that is why God says "spread the Gospel to the whole world". Those who did not know Christ through no fault of their own are not automatically damned. The normal means of salvation is the gospel of Jesus Christ, as taught by the Church.
We cannot become God - God is the creator. We can become more like him, however - and that is what Heaven is. To be with God forever and to be like him in terms of love.
I just checked your channel, Killer. I've answered your questions, now answer me this one; are you a Mormon? Or an apologist for Mormons? I will honestly answwer your questions, but I am not going to waste my time beating around the bush with a Mormon apologist asking specific questions in an attempt to set traps and confuse Christians.
If you are genuinely seeking answers, fine. If you are here to recruit for the Mormon cult, then this conversation is over.
@SaintMichaelsMedia yeah, but does it really matter? I'm trying to figure this out, and your not going to help me, I'll look someplace else, gees. I use every resource that I can get a hold of. I'm tired of hearing stuff on the terms of "Mormon", thats why I went to ask a Catholic instead, just see what he thought about this. Thanks anyway.
@0117Killer1 I am more than happy to answer questions; but you need to be honest and open about the fact you aren't Christian, and that your questions are clearly specifically designed to work towards arguing for the (false) teaching of the Mormons concerning Jesus coming to the New World and the notion that "as men are, God was. As God is, men can be".
@SaintMichaelsMedia So if I was atheist you wouldn't help me? What if i was Buddhist? Gees man I ask a few questions and you go all ballistic on me, didn't know Catholics got so offended so easily. I'm just a regular college student asking questions, I don't know much about god or this and that, but hey I'm trying, ok?
@0117Killer1 See, now you are just trying to put words in my mouth and I don't like it. I said (and I quote) "I'm more than happy to answer questions, but you need to be honest and open". Your entire purpose here has been (obviously so, and you have not denied it) to work towards pushing Mormon theology.
I have no time for that. If you are honestly seeking answers, fine - ask HONEST questions, not ones specifically designed as traps!
The thing that I find most curious about protestants, and I have been in their churches, is that they really don't follow the Bible. Sure they can quote their version of it BUT they have no clue how to live it. When faced with absolute fact, they hum and haw and duck away. "You shall not add to the word that I speak to you, neither shall you take away from it: keep the Commandments of the Lord your God which I command you." Deuteronomy 4:2. Yet protestants do change and subvert the word of God.
@cjeb2003 --At one time we had a large Protestant Bookstore in our area with tons of commentaries, theology books, devotionals, and whatnot; I thought to myself, "how does this jive with Sola Scriptura"?
Gheeesssh. Do you deny that you pray to mary and you pray to various saints? Someone PLEASE....just show me that Jesus taught us to do that. SHOW ME in the bible where it says to pray to Mary all the time and pray to different saints all the time. While you're at it show me where Jesus taught us that a man (aka/priest) has to intercede on your behalf in order for God to forgive your sins. I don't want to hear of your verbal traditions, I want to see it in God's word. SHOW ME.
@joyfulthirst I am blocking you because these questions have been asked (and answered) elsewhere - anyone who cannot be bothered to read comments is not going to bother to listen to me.
Also; where in the Bible does it say it has to be in the Bible? The Chuch is older than the Bible. She has the authority. The Bible is PART of the word of God, not all of it.
@joyfulthirst sacred tradition is a part of our faith, we do not pray to Saints or Mary, we beseech the Saints and Mary to intercede on our behalf.
When Peter was given the keys and told as you so do on earth so it is done in heaven, that is the point at which our sacred tradition began. Reconciliation is one of those traditions. But be at peace joyfulthirst, we are not in this to win arguments and I do not think you are either, we are in this together to help get each other home to God.
@MSA6001 Wow. Did you think of that response all yourself?
Everyone - this fellow is a Protestant. He has posted elsewhere, standard Protestant stuff. And this is how he talks to other people. How very Christlike he is not!
@SaintMichaelsMedia Baptism claerly doesn't save: Otherwise salvation would require a work to be present, which is not how salvation works, as it is a gift of God, not of works (Ephesians 2). Baptism shows your testimony as being born again and is symbolic. It shows your Christians brethren that you are born again. So if I truly believed in Christ as Lord, yet wasn't baptized, would I go to Hell then? Or anyone likewise? You appear to think so.
@SAM135073 1 Peter 3:21 says "Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you-notthe removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience-through the resurrection of Jesus Christ."
@SAM135073 You must be a pure Protestant for sure. They claim they will be, FOR SURE, go to heaven because: 'THEY ACCEPT JESUS AS THEIR SAVIOR"... THAT'S IT. What about receiving Him in His Precious Blood and Flesh? what about being baptized? what about leaving a Christian life? doesn't all this count?? what you believe in is so easy and empty.
@ChrisDaron How can you recieve Christ's physical blood and flesh? Has Christ come back and I didn't realize it? And Baptism is to show that you are saved. You don't need it to be saved. It's symbolic of salvation and shows your testimony of salvation to the Church. And Catholicism is so easy and empty. According to the Pope (John Paul i think), one can live a "good" life without knowiing Christ and still go to heaven. That's blasphemous/against the Word. Tell me that's not empty and easy.
@EvangelistChristian >> According to the Pope (John Paul i think), one can live a "good" life without knowiing Christ and still go to heaven
Absolute lie! It would be funny if it wasn't so horrible; you say "I think" meaning you didn't even bother to check before slandering someone!
As for eating Jesus's body and blood - yes! He has returned! That is the Eucharist, which the very first Christians believed was the REAL body and blood of Jesus.
@SaintMichaelsMedia Actually: “it will be in the sincere practice of what is good in their own religious traditions and by following the dictates of their own conscience that the members of other religions respond positively to God’s invitation and receive salvation in Jesus Christ, even while they do not recognize or acknowledge him as their Saviour" - Pope John Paul II. Just a pagan piping in to show that there's hope for the world religions to get along
@sammyhain13 By following what is good they RESPOND POSITIVELY AND RECIEVE SALVATION THROUGH CHRIST. That is; by following the portions of the natural law they have access too (and NOT by following anything exclusive to non-Catholicism) that they come to Catholicism (which is the only religion founded by God) and recieve salvation through Christ.
The pope is not saying there is salvation outside the Church; he is saying those outside the Church can be drawn to her by honest seeking.
@EvangelistChristian Well, you're a Protestant. Jesus never founded any of the over 60, 000 Protestant sects that you belong to, which aren't biblical whatsoever, which deny the Sacraments and have NO respect toward the Holy Mother of God: Mary.
You wouldn't know, Evangelist... your sect was founded not too long ago (mid 1900s) whereas the Catholic was founded in 33 by Jesus Himself.
this guy is so focused on blasting Protestantism that he doesn't even focus on his own people. he is so biased and doesn't have evidence to support many of his claims. he says jesus started the Catholic Church. Jesus started the Church, but the question is if he specifically started the Catholic Church? some Catholic Church traditions and teachings go contrary to the Bible. if Jesus really started specifically the Catholic Church, why are there teachings that go contrary to Jesus' teachings?
>> if Jesus really started specifically the Catholic Church, why are there teachings that go contrary to Jesus' teachings?
There are no such teachings - and you won't find a single one. You will find teachings which go against what YOU think the Bible means, but it doesn't mean that.
I've issued this challenge before - show me a Catholic teaching which goes against the Bible; not what YOU say the it means, but against what it says.
confession of sins to a priest - a person here on earth can not forgive sins. and if somehow sins are forgiven, it is God doing it, not a priest.
prayer to Mary and the Saints - 1 tim 2:5. praying to mary and the Saints is not the same as asking somebody on earth to pray for you. and even if it was, nowhere in scripture is prayer to the Saints and Mary is found.
Purgatory - where, where, where in the Bible? i want God-inspired words, not man made inventions.
@ForiegnMathematics So, you admit we are right about the other things? Confession and prayer to saints? Just so we are clear - you didn't say anything about them, so you must concede the points.
We don't worship idols - we just have pictures and statues. Does the USA worship Lincoln because they have a HUGE statue of him? Do you worship your "Silent Hill" because you have videos associated with it favorited?
No - such things are a REMINDER of something. And so it is with statues.
@SaintMichaelsMedia could you tell me what episode you explained what is meant by the whore of babalyon I would like to explain it to someone on youtube thank you god bless
@williemetoyer23 The Whore of Babylon in Rev. refers to Jewish Jerusalem allied with Pagan Rome, attacking Christians. It does not refer to the Catholic Church or the Vatican.
@SaintMichaelsMedia Finally an intelligent answer! lol These Protestants just take scripture way out of its original context to try and pick holes in Catholicism. Revelation was largely aimed at pagan Rome and at Nero ("The Beast") in particular. All it takes is a look back at history and decent scholarship to understand things that would otherwise be beyond them
I am seriously studying various religions now - Catholic and Protestant - and thank you for your opinion. I believe that God is the only true judge and He knows who will be saved.
What is with this JUDGING thing? God is no longer a God of wrath, but the God of grace. God doesn't judge you. That is why Jesus was on the cross and rose again. It is great you are studying the differences, but it isn't a religion that you should follow, but the faith in Christ!
awesome statement. I have been trying to tell protestants to shut up for some time. All they do is bash the Catholic church. That is so anti Christian it is not even funny. Larry Wessels is one really bad one that comes to mind. Thank You Michael.
It says they believe in the same God, but are WRONG about many things they believe about Him.
It states if they are IGNORANT (not sincere) they may get to Heaven. They are held accountable for what they know and could have resonably been expected to know.
That's a new age concept creeping into all areas of Christianity. The great Christian thinkers of the past would take serious issue. In fact, the catholics I've spoken to think that Christ is the only name by which one can be saved (thats in Acts 4:12). It's clear that Christ is THE Way, C.S. Lewis says proved theres no neutral ground (ignorance is no excuse). I think it's a mystery we'll know on judgement day whether the ignorant will go to heaven as well but we shouldnt assert they may.....
>> it's a mystery we'll know on judgement day whether the ignorant will go to heaven as well but we shouldnt assert they may.
The CHURCH, however, has.
Rome has spoken - the case is closed.
I will not tolerate any more debate on this issue. The Church has said there is a possibility (although remote) the invincibly ignorant may be saved. This has, in fact, been the teaching of the Church since the earliest days.
None are saved APART from Christ - but those who do not know Christ (through no fault of their own) MAY be saved BY Christ, and because of the presence of the Church in the world.
The funny thing about all of this is that the real group we should be trying to reach out to are those who don't even believe in a God.
And all this bickering about Catholics/Protestants being holier than the other denominations is both pointless and not what Jesus would want.
Please don't get legalistic about sacraments and such. That's like being a Jewish man abiding by the laws of Leviticus. Jesus came to die for us so that we can be saved by faith, not deeds.
>> That's like being a Jewish man abiding by the laws of Leviticus
Which, if you care to READ your Bible, you will find was ESSENTIAL for Jews to do.
>> Jesus came to die for us so that we can be saved by faith, not deeds.
That is a complete lie - the Bible disagrees with you. The Bible makes it clear that we are saved through faith AND works. You are advancing "faith alone" - the ONLY time those words appear in the Bible is to say "man is saved NOT by faith alone".
>> all this bickering about Catholics/Protestants being holier than the other denominations is both pointless and not what Jesus would want
You are an expert on what Jesus wants? Given that you think we are saved by faith alone and not by works (something the Bible disagrees with) you will forgive me if I don't think you are an expert on this particular subject.
Jesus wants all men to be saved. And salvation is ONLY found through the Catholic Church. Others can be saved - but it is despite their Protestantism, not because of it.
I think this guy is simply speaking out against anti-Catholic Protestants.
Personally, I don't understand the big debate going on here. Catholics and Protestants believe in the same God, just that they have different methods of showing their belief. Catholics have a more traditional way, Protestants are more contemporary. But neither is more holy.
>> Catholics have a more traditional way, Protestants are more contemporary. But neither is more holy
Wrong on many, many, many levels.
Individual Protestants can be holy - but it is DESPITE their beliefs. Catholic worship is traditional and AUTHENTIC. Protestant services are modern and MADE UP.
Only Catholics do everything Jesus wants us to do - Protestants do not. They cut bits out of the Bible, for starters!
There are many verses which support The Real Presence and Transubstantiation; "This IS my Body", "If you do not eat the flesh of the son of man" etc. etc. The Gospels are VERY clear on this.
Peter was a married, non-virgin Jew who spoke in tongues and believed in/performed miracles. He layed hands on people when he prayed for them and he was crucified upside down....by the Romans.
Paul was single and remain single. He wasn't married.
Peter was crucified upside down because he didn't feel worthy to be crucified the traditional way.
The issue of celibacy is discipline not doctrine. The Church can change it.. On that note, the CC does allow pastoral provisions that allow former Protestant ministers who are married to become priest. In Eastern Catholicism, there are married priest.
Christ was an unmarried, virgin Jew who created all the tongues and performed miracles because he was God. He healed people and he was crucified face up....by the Jews.
tchristian04, "That doesn't sound very Catholic to me"
Well it sounds Catholic to me! You have no idea what we believe and what the Church teaches. That's why things that are Catholic do not sound Christian to you.
very good video well done!!! there's far too much confusion out there, people need directions, the Catholic Church is the true and apostolic church...the most direct way towards Salvation
some of these statements make me embarrassed to be a Catholic. So what you are saying is that Catholics cannot have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ? That is utter nonsense!
Also to kumhoo81: i dont think God cares what denomination you are, as long as you follow Christ
I am Catholic and love the faith but the gentleman in this video failed to substantiate the claim that only Catholics can have a real relationship with Jesus. Can someone please explain how that works?
>> Who will go to heaven? Catholic or Protestant?
Only the Catholic Church has all the sacraments given to humanity by Jesus for salvation. However, this does not guarantee that all Catholics will go to Heaven, nor does it mean that all Protestants will go to Hell.
Getting to Heaven is easier for Catholics, because only they have 100% of the truth.
Yes, but that is IN SPITE of their rejection of Christian truth. It is possible, but it is not easy and happens despite the fact they reject the truth of Jesus Christ and His Church.
There is no guarantee the Protestants will go to Heaven. Protestantism is NOT normatively salvific.
"However, this does not guarantee that all Catholics will go to Heaven, nor does it mean that all Protestants will go to Hell". Your statement is confusing.
Should I become Catholics or Protestants in order to go to heaven?
>> But how sure are you that Catholic will 100% go heaven?
Not ALL Catholics will go to Heaven. But ALL FAITHFUL Catholics will go to Heaven.
And I am totally sure of that. Jesus Christ created the Catholic faith precisely so that those who follow it 100% will go to Heaven. Jesus is God, and so everything He says is right.
>> will it be more appropriate if one must be baptized in his/her full will (with consent at least)?
No. No responsible parent asks a child for consent to give a vacination; that's a choice made by a parent for a child who CAN'T responsibly make the choice.
Baptism is a spiritual vaccination. It is not something that should be delayed - it is dangerous not to.
Parents decide what is best for their children when they're young. When children become adults, they can decide for themselves.
Have you ever said a sinner's prayer? Declared with your mouth that Jesus is the messiah? Asked on your own to be forgiven for your sins? Asked Jesus to come into your heart?
If you did, and you really hold feelings that you say you have about Jesus...I can almost guarantee that you would rethink your decision to stay Catholic.
Of course I have - Catholics pray that sort of prayer every single Mass. Don't you know this?
>> I can almost guarantee that you would rethink your decision to stay Catholic.
Oh, and the arrogance of the Protestant comes out! Ignorant of what Catholics believe, they claim that Catholics will discard their faith the moment they find Jesus.
Wake up! It was the Catholic Church who brought Jesus to the world! We are the Church Jesus founded!
You won't get it. They were Catholic - they followed the pope, they went to Mass, they believed everything we do. Documents of the Church Fathers show this very clearly.
Authentic Christianity is Catholic - everything else is just made-up by Luther, Calvin and the rest. Very sad indeed that people would follow such sinful men when they can follow Jesus Christ.
...most of the catholics were baptized in their infanthood (or the like)... do they have any choice or at least with their consent? or just their parents who want them to be catholics as well...or will it be more appropriate if one must be baptized in his/her full will (with consent at least)???
Good question, the point that many miss is that it is only by having an EXPERIENCE of faith, preferably starting with parents who are the first teachers, that one can begin to understand what faith is and therefore make an INFORMED choice. But there are many adult converts to Catholicism - and the fact that they have found their own way there is often a sign that they can improve in a special way the experience of faith that God wants us all to have to the full.
Thank you for your videos, Mr Voris! I'm happy to have found an authentic, Bible-believing, Truth-preaching Church! Protestantism was so silly it led me away not only from Christianity, but all religion. Now I am on the way home, where Jesus wants me.
i used to be a protestant but there was no substance in it, it was all just happ-clappy praise and worship songs and it was more of a middle class social club than a place to meet god.
>> if you don't baptise your child ,will never enter the kingdom of god.
Direct words from Jesus - "if you are not born again of WATER and the SPIRIT you will never enter the Kingdom". That is not cruel - God died for us, all we have to do is live a holy life.
>> protestant and catholics differences.are they really so big?
Huge. Protestants deny the Sacraments, the ordinary means of salvation. They (as a general rule) cut bits out of the Bible. They teach a watered-down theology.
luthers teachings is the only right thing in my opinion. now im not a christian but protestantism makes more sense. if your catholic you can bribe your way out of sins. what the hell is that about? go protestantism!
Actually in the time of the protestant revolution people were given a false impression that the church was buying and selling of indulgences which is a remittance of sin if someone gave money to help build St.Peters basilica.
So in a way he is right but the church reformed a few years later and that is not practiced any more.
The church reforms when doctrine needs to be defined not changed.
Alberto Rivera was exposed as a fraud by his own fans a long time ago. The time in which he claimed to be a Jesuit priest, he was in Costa Rica with a wife and two kids. You can find his sons' grave stones and the house he used to live in and everything. His "Jesuit ID" doesn't even call him a Jesuit! You stop fooling yourself, find the truth, and get right with God. Your bearing false witness has no place in the mouth of a Christian.
Hey there! I watched your video, I don't want to entering into any arguments. Im a protestant, a born again christian (John 3) Jesus said in John 3 v3 unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" Just one question, do you believe that the bible is the authoritative word of God?
>> Your mission is to convince people to join the ecumenical movement
No, my mission is to bring people to the truth of the Catholic Church, which was founded by Jesus Christ.
>> Alberto Rivera and Jack Chick were right
They are both miserable liars without a single piece of evidence. Alberto Rivera was never anything he claimed to be - he was a liar and he knew it. His story didn't even add up - he kept changing it!
"The devil ... has devised a new [disturbance] ... in the ungodly, through whom he makes his way in all sorts of chimerical follies and extravagant doctrines. This [one] won't have baptism, that [one] denies the efficacy of the Lord's supper; a third puts a world between this and the last judgment; others teach that Jesus Christ is not God; some say this, others that; and there are almost as many sects and beliefs as there are heads."
To see how much the Protestants Churches led astray and confused many faithful I have to make the conclusion that Martin Luther has done more damage than the false prophet mohammed. :(
My mum's a Catholic, my dad's a Protestant, and what I truly believe in is that is only one God for each and everyone of us. What is it with Christians fighting against each others? Religion is about LOVE, not about hatred, is it?
>> And that was a long, long time ago... I think it's better to care about the future, not the past.
Okay; in the FUTURE the Protestants need to apologize, recant, repent and change their minds and come back to where they were in the PAST.
Just because something wrong was done years and years ago doesn't mean it's okay now! Protestants were wrong then, they are wrong now, and they will be wrong tomorrow.
>> Well I think the thing we can agree on is that Jesus loves us all!
He does - that is why He left us the Church. He loves us so much He wants us to be saved, and the normative way of that being done is through the Catholic Church.
Right on that, that was a present to us from our loving lord. God bless! Oh did you get that message I sent you, if not thats ok, I can ask father jeffrey on youtube. Also I had a question on the notion of the protestants being saved. I mean I know real good people who are not catholic, and they are very religious in there own way? Is it wrong to say they will not go to heaven... or maybe they can go to purgatory.. Just wondering, well God bless, and only 7 days till the blessed day of christmas
>> I had a question on the notion of the protestants being saved.
Those who are not formal members of the Church can be saved, but it is harder than for Catholics, and they are saved BECAUSE of the Catholic Church, NOT in spite of their membership of it.
Taking up the cross does not mean becoming a "warrior" for Christ. It means suffering through whatever division exists. Battle longer and the "unity" you seek will never occur. Your sword will only provoke further violence and further division of the holy spirit itself.
I actually understood the sword as leading to division: to divide the true believers from the others. Pretty much like Mt 25 where Jesus separates the goats from the sheep.
His teachings are so remarkable that they will lead to division.
There is a internet-only TV station called Real Catholic TV. There is a URL in the description of this video. You can subscribe to that service and watch ALL the episodes of The One True Faith - a new one is being put up each week.
Protestant churches always pride itself to be the "Church of the Bible", but they cannot deny the historic fact that the bible came from the Catholic Church, they borrowed and put away 7 books from it.
Sincere reflection on this event alone should be very enligtening to protestants, though quite a hard pill to swallow.
The Catholic Church is the "Church of the Living God"
At about 1:10 you say that evil is directly linked to the divisions of Christianity. True but the main decendency of evil I believe comes from the religion Islam. Islamic teachings teach that it is okay to kill non-muslims. I mean you don't see Catholics killing Protestants today but you do see Sunni and Shite Muslims killing each other. Islam is an evil religion.
>> At about 1:10 you say that evil is directly linked to the divisions of Christianity. True but the main decendency of evil I believe comes from the religion Islam.
Islam is just a Christian heresy, nothing more. It's a made-up silly religion.
Pope Benedict XVI did get it right when he quoted Byzantine emperor Manuel II Paleologus, one of the last Christian rulers before the Fall of Constantinople to the Muslim Ottoman Empire...Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.
Manuel II Palaiologos also said, "God is not pleased by blood - and not acting reasonably is contrary to God's nature. Faith is born of the soul, not the body. Whoever would lead someone to faith needs the ability to speak well and to reason properly, without violence and threats... To convince a reasonable soul, one does not need a strong arm, or weapons of any kind, or any other means of threatening a person with death..."
>> Is it possible for someone in the UK to purchase this series from St. Michael's media on DVD?
Yes, you would need to visit our international store. If you go to the website listed in the description of this video, you will be able to find the international store by adding slash international after the URL
Seriously, do you really think saying "I am right" will helpt you convert protestants? Not all protestant faiths are the same, and not all breakaway factions are Protestants.
I am High-Church Lutheran, my father is Catholic, my mother is agnostic, I have Jewish and atheist friends, and so on and so forth.
You believe us to be wrong. Fine. But we believe you to be wrong.
Why would your doctrine be more important than mine? Your faith and views? Who gave you that right? Certanly not God.
>> Seriously, do you really think saying "I am right" will helpt you convert protestants?
Well, it's worked several times before, and it is infinitely better than trying to pretend people who disagree are all right.
>> Why would your doctrine be more important than mine? Your faith and views? Who gave you that right? Certanly not God.
Actually, yes - it was God. And that is why our doctrine is more truthful than the Protestant faiths. They were founded by men, we were founded by God.
Ok i'm a young Catholic so how do you know that our Faith is true? I've been talking to some protestants who claim that the Catholic faith is unbibical.
If RC Church were to look at church history, esp., orthodox teachings of the1st,2nd,3rd&4th century,& include what St.Augustine argued for against Pelagius, they'd be shocked to find that the RC has fallen away from original teachings.Protestant Reformers of the 16th&17th century such as Luther&Calvin are much closer to original Christian teachings.Luther, in fact, attempted to bring the RC church back to its original teachings but it was the RC church who created division by kicking him out
>> Why does it not say anything about catholics or protestants in the Bible?
Because when the Councils of the Catholic Church at Rome, Hippo and Carthage put the Bible together from documents written by Catholics, the Protestants hadn't yet rebelled. All Christians at that stage WERE Catholic.

Celticdaughter85 10 months ago
@Celticdaughter85 So you "know how Methodism came to be", but are still a Methodist? So you know that it is a false religion based on false religions based on a truncated and error-filled version of the Truth? The very NATURE of PROTESTantism is anti-Catholic; it is a PROTEST against Catholicism. And "dating" a Catholic? I pray it ends the only good way it can - with you converting to the truth. Otherwise, he's in a problematic situation vis-a-vis his duties to the Church (marriage, kids etc.)

@Celticdaughter85 Weird. Protestants PROTEST the Catholic Church, therefore, all Protestants are anti-Catholic.

0117Killer1 1 year ago
@0117Killer1 One) This is why God made the Church, with its mission to spread the Gospel to all men.
Two) What more is there than being with God and being completely fulfilled? Heaven is not sitting around on clouds and playing harps - it is being in the presence of love itself. There is nothing more than that which could be desired.
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago
@SaintMichaelsMedia One) But at 800 AD spreading the gospel to all the world wasn't exactly possible. What about the Indians from North America, the Asians? Wouldn't he want them to be saved as well?
Two) He keeps telling us to come follow him, and to keep his commandments, I was thinking about this, and it seems like thats what a teacher does, and a teacher wants his students to be like him doesn't he? Wouldn't god want the same for us?
0117Killer1 1 year ago

Are you a Mormon? Yes / No.
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago
@SaintMichaelsMedia yeah, but does it really matter? I'm trying to figure this out, and your not going to help me, I'll look someplace else, gees. I use every resource that I can get a hold of. I'm tired of hearing stuff on the terms of "Mormon", thats why I went to ask a Catholic instead, just see what he thought about this. Thanks anyway.
0117Killer1 1 year ago
@0117Killer1 I am more than happy to answer questions; but you need to be honest and open about the fact you aren't Christian, and that your questions are clearly specifically designed to work towards arguing for the (false) teaching of the Mormons concerning Jesus coming to the New World and the notion that "as men are, God was. As God is, men can be".
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago
@SaintMichaelsMedia So if I was atheist you wouldn't help me? What if i was Buddhist? Gees man I ask a few questions and you go all ballistic on me, didn't know Catholics got so offended so easily. 0117Killer1 1 year ago

While you're at it show me where Jesus taught us that a man (aka/priest) has to intercede on your behalf in order for God to forgive your sins. I don't want to hear of your verbal traditions, I want to see it in God's word. SHOW ME.
joyfulthirst 1 year ago
@joyfulthirst I am blocking you because these questions have been asked (and answered) elsewhere - anyone who cannot be bothered to read comments is not going to bother to listen to me.
Also; where in the Bible does it say it has to be in the Bible? The Chuch is older than the Bible. She has the authority. The Bible is PART of the word of God, not all of it.
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago
@joyfulthirst sacred tradition is a part of our faith, we do not pray to Saints or Mary, we beseech the Saints and Mary to intercede on our behalf.
When Peter was given the keys and told as you so do on earth so it is done in heaven, that is the point at which our sacred tradition began. Reconciliation is one of those traditions. But be at peace joyfulthirst, we are not in this to win arguments and I do not think you are either, we are in this together to help get each other home to God.

SAM135073 1 year ago
@SAM135073 "Believing ON the Lord Jesus"? Do you even KNOW that prepositions are and how to use them? One believes IN people and things, not ON them!
Also; the Bible explicitly says baptism saves. I see no reason to allow someone who claims to believe ON Jesus yet denies the Bible post here.
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago
@SaintMichaelsMedia Baptism claerly doesn't save: Otherwise salvation would require a work to be present, which is not how salvation works, as it is a gift of God, not of works (Ephesians 2). Baptism shows your testimony as being born again and is symbolic. It shows your Christians brethren that you are born again. So if I truly believed in Christ as Lord, yet wasn't baptized, would I go to Hell then? Or anyone likewise? You appear to think so.
EvangelistChristian 1 year ago
@EvangelistChristian >> Otherwise salvation would require a work to be present, which is not how salvation works
James 2 says exactly the opposite, and calls anyone who believes what you believe to be an ignoramus or fool.
The Bible says in 1 Peter 3:21 Baptism "saves you now".
So, please apologize for misrepresenting Christianity.
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago

ChrisDaron 1 year ago
@ChrisDaron How can you recieve Christ's physical blood and flesh? Has Christ come back and I didn't realize it? And Baptism is to show that you are saved. You don't need it to be saved. It's symbolic of salvation and shows your testimony of salvation to the Church. And Catholicism is so easy and empty. According to the Pope (John Paul i think), one can live a "good" life without knowiing Christ and still go to heaven. That's blasphemous/against the Word. Tell me that's not empty and easy.
EvangelistChristian 1 year ago
@EvangelistChristian >> According to the Pope (John Paul i think), one can live a "good" life without knowiing Christ and still go to heaven
Absolute lie! It would be funny if it wasn't so horrible; you say "I think" meaning you didn't even bother to check before slandering someone!
As for eating Jesus's body and blood - yes! He has returned! That is the Eucharist, which the very first Christians believed was the REAL body and blood of Jesus.
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago
@SaintMichaelsMedia Actually: “it will be in the sincere practice of what is good in their own religious traditions and by following the dictates of their own conscience that the members of other religions respond positively to God’s invitation and receive salvation in Jesus Christ, even while they do not recognize or acknowledge him as their Saviour" - Pope John Paul II. Just a pagan piping in to show that there's hope for the world religions to get along
sammyhain13 1 year ago
@sammyhain13 By following what is good they RESPOND POSITIVELY AND RECIEVE SALVATION THROUGH CHRIST. That is; by following the portions of the natural law they have access too (and NOT by following anything exclusive to non-Catholicism) that they come to Catholicism (which is the only religion founded by God) and recieve salvation through Christ.
The pope is not saying there is salvation outside the Church; he is saying those outside the Church can be drawn to her by honest seeking.
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago
@EvangelistChristian Well, you're a Protestant. Jesus never founded any of the over 60, 000 Protestant sects that you belong to, which aren't biblical whatsoever, which deny the Sacraments and have NO respect toward the Holy Mother of God: Mary.

There are no such teachings - and you won't find a single one. You will find teachings which go against what YOU think the Bible means, but it doesn't mean that.
I've issued this challenge before - show me a Catholic teaching which goes against the Bible; not what YOU say the it means, but against what it says.
Why is your interpretation of the Bible right?
SaintMichaelsMedia 1 year ago
@SaintMichaelsMedia
confession of sins to a priest - a person here on earth can not forgive sins. and if somehow sins are forgiven, it is God doing it, not a priest.
prayer to Mary and the Saints - 1 tim 2:5. praying to mary and the Saints is not the same as asking somebody on earth to pray for you. and even if it was, nowhere in scripture is prayer to the Saints and Mary is found.
Purgatory - where, where, where in the Bible? i want God-inspired words, not man made inventions.
gmussina 1 year ago
Man, you are going to look foolish with this;
>> a person here on earth can not forgive sins
John 20:22-23 "Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them"
>> nowhere in scripture is prayer to the Saints and Mary is found
Parable of the rich man and Lazarus. Rich man prays to Abraham, NOT to God. Abraham has no problem with it.

That's a new age concept creeping into all areas of Christianity. The great Christian thinkers of the past would take serious issue. In fact, the catholics I've spoken to think that Christ is the only name by which one can be saved (thats in Acts 4:12). It's clear that Christ is THE Way, C.S. leomessi102 2 years ago
>> it's a mystery we'll know on judgement day whether the ignorant will go to heaven as well but we shouldnt assert they may.
The CHURCH, however, has.
Rome has spoken - the case is closed.
I will not tolerate any more debate on this issue. The Church has said there is a possibility (although remote) the invincibly ignorant may be saved. This has, in fact, been the teaching of the Church since the earliest days.
SaintMichaelsMedia 2 years ago

God bless you all.

SaintMichaelsMedia 2 years ago
>> all this bickering about Catholics/Protestants being holier than the other denominations is both pointless and not what Jesus would want

Jesus wants all men to be saved. And salvation is ONLY found through the Catholic Church. Others can be saved - but it is despite their Protestantism, not because of it.
SaintMichaelsMedia 2 years ago
I think this guy is simply speaking out against anti-Catholic Protestants.
Personally, I don't understand the big debate going on here. Catholics and Protestants believe in the same God, just that they have different methods of showing their belief. Catholics have a more traditional way, Protestants are more contemporary. But neither is more holy.
aznprd44 2 years ago 2
>> Catholics have a more traditional way, Protestants are more contemporary. But neither is more holy
Wrong on many, many, many levels.
Individual Protestants can be holy - but it is DESPITE their beliefs. Catholic worship is traditional and AUTHENTIC. Protestant services are modern and MADE UP.
Only Catholics do everything Jesus wants us to do - Protestants do not. They cut bits out of the Bible, for starters!

SaintMichaelsMedia 2 years ago

kumhoo81 2 years ago

Yes, but that is IN SPITE of their rejection of Christian truth. It is possible, but it is not easy and happens despite the fact they reject the truth of Jesus Christ and His Church.
There is no guarantee the Protestants will go to Heaven. Protestantism is NOT normatively salvific.

How is it confusing? Some Protestants will go to Heaven, some will not. We cannot say for sure.

When children become adults, they can decide for themselves.

...most of the catholics were baptized in their infanthood (or the like)... do they have any choice or at least with their consent? or just their parents who want them to be catholics as well...or will it be more appropriate if one must be baptized in his/her full will (with consent at least)???
thanks!
mattperez69 3 years ago
@mattperez69 Have you ever heard of the Sacrament of Confirmation?
When you get confirmed, you're old enough to "give your consent.

They teach a watered-down theology.

luthers teachings is the only right thing in my opinion. now im not a christian but protestantism makes more sense. if your catholic you can bribe your way out of sins. what the hell is that about? go protestantism!
that is all.
Xuandes 3 years ago
>> if your catholic you can bribe your way out of sins.
No, you cannot. That is NOT Catholic teaching. One CANNOT buy forgiveness for sins, and you will not find that anywhere in Catholic teaching.
I think you need to correct your ignorance before making comments. You need to learn what the Catholic Church actually teaches.
By the way; you say you agree with Luther's teachings - what precisely of his teachings have you read? I suspect nothing.
SaintMichaelsMedia 3 years ago
Actually in the time of the protestant revolution people were given a false impression that the church was buying and selling of indulgences which is a remittance of sin if someone gave money to help build St.Peters basilica.
So in a way he is right but the church reformed a few years later and that is not practiced any more.
The church reforms when doctrine needs to be defined not changed.

It was a single evil man called Tutzel who was doing this. The Church rejected such things.

Oh, this is magical;
>> Accept Christ as the only Savior of your life
I do that every single time I go to Mass, which is the ONLY place you can. Might I suggest you do the same?
>> ye receive not of her Plagueis
You do realise that "Plagueis" is a character in Star Wars, right?
>> her sins have reached grease heaven
Is grease heaven where fast-food workers go when they die?
You don't have any place trying to interpret the Bible until you can spell your quotes right.

Hey there! I watched your video, I don't want to entering into any arguments. Im a protestant, a born again christian (John 3) Jesus said in John 3 v3 unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" Just one question, do you believe that the bible is the authoritative word of God?
UK123Gospel 3 years ago
>> Jesus said in John 3 v3 unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God"
Yes - born again of water and the spirit. Refering to baptism. Without baptism, one cannot be saved.
>> do you believe that the bible is the authoritative word of God?
Of course. I believe this because the Church says so. Why do YOU believe it?
SaintMichaelsMedia 3 years ago
My God, are you even for real?
>> Your mission is to convince people to join the ecumenical movement
No, my mission is to bring people to the truth of the Catholic Church, which was founded by Jesus Christ.
>> Alberto Rivera and Jack Chick were right
They are both miserable liars without a single piece of evidence. Alberto Rivera was never anything he claimed to be - he was a liar and he knew it. His story didn't even add up - he kept changing it!
SaintMichaelsMedia 3 years ago

I'm sorry, are you suggesting that Alberto Rivera's death was the fault of Catholics? That is slander and totally unsubstantiated - how dare you?

"The devil ... has devised a new [disturbance] ... in the ungodly, through whom he makes his way in all sorts of chimerical follies and extravagant doctrines. This [one] won't have baptism, that [one] denies the efficacy of the Lord's supper; a third puts a world between this and the last judgment; others teach that Jesus Christ is not God; some say this, others that; and there are almost as many sects and beliefs as there are heads."

Lord forgive them because they do not know what they are doing. :(

My mum's a Catholic, my dad's a Protestant, and what I truly believe in is that is only one God for each and everyone of us. What is it with Christians fighting against each others? Religion is about LOVE, not about hatred, is it?
WilliamTheSlayer 3 years ago
>> What is it with Christians fighting against each others?
I have no real idea - but I DO know it was the Protestants who started it by changing the ancient Christian faith.

WilliamTheSlayer 3 years ago
>> And that was a long, long time ago... I think it's better to care about the future, not the past.
Okay; in the FUTURE the Protestants need to apologize, recant, repent and change their minds and come back to where they were in the PAST.
Just because something wrong was done years and years ago doesn't mean it's okay now! Protestants were wrong then, they are wrong now, and they will be wrong tomorrow.

RockyBalboa211 3 years ago
>> Well I think the thing we can agree on is that Jesus loves us all!
He does - that is why He left us the Church. He loves us so much He wants us to be saved, and the normative way of that being done is through the Catholic Church.
SaintMichaelsMedia 3 years ago
Right on that, that was a present to us from our loving lord. God bless! Oh did you get that message I sent you, if not thats ok, I can ask father jeffrey on youtube. Also I had a question on the notion of the protestants being saved. I mean I know real good people who are not catholic, and they are very religious in there own way? Is it wrong to say they will not go to heaven... or maybe they can go to purgatory.. Just wondering, well God bless, and only 7 days till the blessed day of christmas
RockyBalboa211 3 years ago
>> Oh did you get that message I sent you
Got it - will reply today! Sorry.

Your sword will only provoke further violence and further division of the holy spirit itself.
truthseekerscorpio 3 years ago
>> Taking up the cross does not mean becoming a "warrior" for Christ.
How then do you explain the fact Jesus says He has not come to bring peace, but a sword? And the fact Saint Paul uses military imagery a great deal?
Absolutely we must become warriors for Christ.
SaintMichaelsMedia 3 years ago
I actually understood the sword as leading to division: to divide the true believers from the others. Pretty much like Mt 25 where Jesus separates the goats from the sheep.
His teachings are so remarkable that they will lead to division.

Islam is just a Christian heresy, nothing more. It's a made-up silly religion.

Pope Benedict XVI did get it right when he quoted Byzantine emperor Manuel II Paleologus, one of the last Christian rulers before the Fall of Constantinople to the Muslim Ottoman Empire...Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.
csmuskie 3 years ago
Manuel II Palaiologos also said, "God is not pleased by blood - and not acting reasonably is contrary to God's nature. Faith is born of the soul, not the body. Whoever would lead someone to faith needs the ability to speak well and to reason properly, without violence and threats... To convince a reasonable soul, one does not need a strong arm, or weapons of any kind, or any other means of threatening a person with death..."

Yes, we are - and Protestants deny that our Mother is our mother, and refuse to recognise the Son in the manner He chose to be present.
>> Can't we just all get along and work this out?
Sure - the Protestants need to come home. That's all - we don't want to fight, we want to welcome EVERYONE to the fullness of truth.

Why does it not say anything about catholics or protestants in the Bible?
rheemruudweatherking 3 years ago
>> Why does it not say anything about catholics or protestants in the Bible?
Because when the Councils of the Catholic Church at Rome, Hippo and Carthage put the Bible together from documents written by Catholics, the Protestants hadn't yet rebelled. All Christians at that stage WERE Catholic.
