There are similar traditions here in the States dealing with removing a hat such as the pledge of allegiance to our flag or when our national anthem is sung. @TupacOD You're right. A woman wouldn't be asked to remove her hat/cover. As mentioned, the requirement is for men to remove their hats. It's tradition that is apparently enforced in that venue. There are similar traditions here in the States dealing with removing a hat such as the pledge of allegiance to our flag or when our national anthem is sung. Men are expected to remove their hats, but ladies aren't. Not that this is something enforced. Too many people looking to make a point.
