I know this vid is pretty old but have you happened to change your furniture out yet? I bought the exact same Ak about a year ago and did away with the ugly polymer as soon as I could; the ComBloc wood and polymer is so much more ergonomic.
How do we know the Afghans called the 7N6 round the poison bullet? Did we interview the entire country or just a few towel heads during the 80s? Maybe it was just one interview with one doctor or fighter and then CBS news parroted that line or maybe just Soviet propaganda, they made up tons of shit during WW2 like snipers serving 237 days but some how getting 700 kills.
@semiautoriflelover1 People called it the poison bullet due to the wounds inflicted and the deaths that sometimes happened well after being shot by a 5.45mm. It had nothing to do with anyone actually "poisoning" the bullet.
Back in the day, it wasn't too hard for a sniper or marksman to rack up lots of kills. Warfare back then was different that today.
@millerusaf Hard to believe a Russian sniper could average 13 kills per day without the Germans tracking him down. Do you have any proof they called it the poison bullet? Where did this report come from? I heard that the poison bullets didn't do very well against Chechneya, they called it the round of the asshole country.
@semiautoriflelover1 It was basically called the "poison" or "stinging" round (depending on specific translation dialect) because of the wound channel it left. The long, slender 5.45 tends to tumble quite a bit (just like the 5.45) and could impart a little hydrostatic shock due to velocity. Some people argue on whether the true translation is "wasp" round. Afghan dialect varies so much between tribes.
Hmm, mind showing us the target? That'd be neat to see the magic of trigger control on the AK... I'd love to see you using a 47 though, I guess it punches more (bull vs pony :P)
@millerusaf Good question! I think something where you could notice the difference between a good trigger control and a "non-trained" one. 100 sounds good :)
Great videos, enjoy watching those, keep it up mate!
@millerusaf Hell yeah, I hate those guys who teach carbine schools and have guys stand 5 yards away all day with a AR or AK, I like to shoot 100 and 200 as fast as I can then when you're up close it's super easy. Maybe if I join a SWAT team then I can practice at 5 yards all day.
@millerusaf Let me rephrase, which caliber do you like better for Self Defense? Seems to me that 5.45 would be better inside the home due to over penetration.
@esh325 Nope. Once you get a feel for your trigger, you learn when it breaks and resets. After that it just takes practice to get your trigger pull consistent to the point where you aren't jerking or slapping the trigger.
Good trigger control is just as important as using the sights correctly.

@jerryboy219 No. AKs are disgrace with rail and US garbage. Why would you put your puny Western optic on such beautiful Kalash gun? It is made of solid Kalash. Are puny AR rifles made from Kalash? No. They are puny man weapon. Kalash does not need accessories to make better. It need true Russian to hold.
@dbmers Wow okay you're officially the dumbest person on the planet. If you seriously thought my comment was serious, kill yourself and flay your body.

Kalashnikovs for life.
Spec0psGrunt 10 months ago
@Spec0psGrunt Both are equally suited in my opinion. Both will work well, but I think the 5.45x39mm may overpenetrate tissue just a bit more.
millerusaf 10 months ago
@Spec0psGrunt BAR would be best for home defense, especially if you saw the barrel down.
its also a crime deterrent. The very sight of one will make you shit yourself if you were on the receiving end
