@wrjamescom When I worked there, it was during the summer before I went back to school. I was ignorant of their business practices (my fault), but when I went back to school and learned of Walmart's business practices I was glad I no longer worked there.
Why didn't the family's lawyer take this into consideration when they were settling on the first suit? That should have been included so that all parties would have been legally indemnified...Not saying Walmart is in the right...but this should have been handled as part of the original suit...I'm thinking maybe the Shanks need to sue their attorney!

This woman was a worker for low wages, lost her short-term memory, her job, and later her son and then Wal-Mart wants more money than she was rewarded. People should stop shopping at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart does not help communities. They put stores out of business and then hire people for low wages. The Wal-Mart Store in Monticello, NY is always dirty, hard to walk through because of over crowded displays in aisles and many of the employees are unhappy and not polite to customers. They also replaced many checkout clerks with scanning machines where many people see as an oppertunity to steal. I think it is the worst Wal-Mart in the United States.

Large Corps and banks will do what they will until you take the money away from the FED and give it back to the US Treasury. Then have term limits on Congress and Senate. Lastly have no computer voting machines with hanging chads or any vote that does not have a paper ballot that is easy to understand and will not deceive the voter. This woman was a worker for low wages, lost her short-term memory, her job, and later her son and then Wal-Mart wants more money than she was rewarded. People should stop shopping at Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart does not help communities. They put stores out of business and then hire people for low wages. The Wal-Mart Store in Monticello, NY is always dirty, hard to walk through because of over crowded displays in aisles and many of the employees are unhappy and not polite to customers. They also replaced many checkout clerks with scanning machines where many people see as an oppertunity to steal. I think it is the worst Wal-Mart in the United States.

The majority of people who join unions do so on their own free will. I've known plenty of union members, and not one of them was forced to join. I'd say that for every union member coerced into joining, allegedly or actually, AT LEAST a half dozen others did so of their own free will. The small percentage of people who may have been forced to join a union is a reason to reform and overhaul them, NOT scrap them as so many anti-union people would like to see.

I haven't set foot in a Wal-Mart in over a year and never will again. It is, without a doubt, one of the most evil corporations on the face of the earth and if there were ever a need for a law to ban a company, Wal-Mart would be it.

I can't say I'm suprised. I've worked there for 4 years; not because I like Walmart, but because its Walmart or flipping burgers and bills need to be paid. Half a year ago, I was disciplined for taking my grandfather to the hospital and missing work myself. They just dont give a damn, because they know that you need your job more than they need you, and I was given the "fair for all associates" lecture as well. What can you do? Sue? That 90 billion a year can buy some real good legal defense.

I worked for Walmart. Worse place to work ever. I was fired not by store policy either. I guess I can't call into work to take my not so healthy and disabled mother to the hospital when she feels sick. I got fired for attendance.

If I were in the same situation I would gladly give money to Wal-mart! Everyone wants to twist what is happening around. Does anyone ask how much Wal-mart payed to help this woman recover? With the injuries she sufferd im sure it cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to treat her if not close to a million!! The medical benefits are payed mostly by Wal-mart. I support Wal-mart 100% and im proud to be a Wal-mart associate!
