  • How did he died? I just found out about him, The greatest driver ever. Now, Ken Block takes his place. RIP

  • @ausroar Excuse me? No-one can "take the place" of Richard Burns, the current world champion is Sebastien Loeb, he's won the last 7 WRCs driving Citroens. Ken Block has won 0 and he will always have 0 to his name, Ken Block is only famous for DC Shoes, Monster energy and the dirt game, which is very unrealistic might I add. Good god!

  • FANTASTIC

    I still play your videogame...RIP R.Burns

  • Respect to Richard as a person and talented driver...and respect to the stiil No.1 rally game Richard burns ...neither have been topped!

  • i want to donload it but it is in flv, can anyone help me please

  • @F1Masteruk You can use either pazera free flv to avi converter or Hamster free video converter. Both are good video converters for flv videos.

  • @sunil3OO thx mate

  • I didn't realize they used paddle shifters.

  • R.I.P Richard

  • He was the best Driver ever!!! It's Big loss for all world!!!

    Greg from Poland

  • Great!

  • That was awesome! I dont think I could sit in that car with them, as I watched every bend I thought he is going to come off here for sure. Such a waste of talent he was so young to lose his battle with cancer RIP....

  • Sweet video! crazy driving and he is very calm like everyone says

  • It looks like he's driving very easy and relaxed .

One of Colin's era's mega drivers. RiP

  • The last proper Subaru WRC ever made...!!

  • Rally drivers (like Richard Burns and Colin McRae) are the best drivers of the world, they can drive in every kind of street and weather conditions... Nothing else

Rest in Peace to both of you my heroes

  • this is 2 video's edited to 1

  • He was so good!

And it's not true that we remember him because of the game(which is awesome).

  • Just legend.

It's a shame people remember him more for his game :/

  • @EJRocky

    What game?

  • no wonder he died

  • @TheKawai Obviously, all rally drivers are destined to die from a brain tumor. Do you know anything at all about Richard Burns or even the wrc?

  • Rest In Peace

  • where is it??

  • He sure left his mark on this world. Rallying has lost a true superstar in Burnsie, R.I.P.

  • grip or what

  • jesus those hairpins were flawless.wonderful.

  • people remember, life can always finish as fast as a flash.

  • look at 1:53 he has a t-shirt, then he has a long suit....sorry for the bad english

  • @fefefico69 it's from another stage. co-driver says flat right curve, but in this camera view where you see his short-sleeved shirt Richard drives a 2 left. It also seems that this 8sec of the vid are maybe from a gravel stage. a) you're hearing lots of stones banging the under-floor and b) he seems to drift nicely and c) you're seeing lots of raised dust from the car through the rear window.

  • Fantastic footage!

At 1:09 Richard points to the handbrake, and when they get to the "hairpin right, very tight" at 1:15 Robert rests his hand on the handbrake, and takes his hand off it when Richard grabs it. Anybody know why? He doesn't do it on any of the other hairpins in this clip.

  • my guess is that richard is adjusting the intercom or at 1.09....then robert adjusts it again, but since richard needs his ebrake, he moves away

  • Comment removed

  • On my knees. This is so OK

  • N6600, every driver and co-driver have their own system to call the pace notes.

As for where it seems to be, I'd guess Corsica. Winding, narrow tarmacroads.

  • This is San Remo...I remember the wall on the right at 4:55 with that Scottish flag...I´ve seen many shots of this wall with Skoda flag in 2001 San Remo hisghlights

  • I cant work out where this is..... it looks european.... dont think its GB....

  • Amazing....in the edge all the time!!!

  • WOO , how could he concentrate on reading the notes? I guess i can't even stand for a minute

  • Carlos Sainz and Richard Burns - my favourite rally drivers.

  • @stakca but.. Colin McRae then?

  • makes me wanna learn how to read and understand pace notes. where can i get a sample of a pace note?

  • its called the internet. use it.

  • why say that you bloody idiot.

  • @ 1:13 the navigator is calling the turn @ 1:16

  • wat?

  • i miss him so much!!!!

cheeRS richard... we will always remember you as the most relaxed driver in ralllye-history!!!!

  • he was stolen... proof god is a selfish twat and needs his head shovin up his arse for a rethink

  • :D LMAO.

By the way, I love the sound of this Subaru!

  • hHe was the best, why that kind of people die to young like Colin.

  • ideeeeeeeeeeeeeeššššššššš.........

  • rofl that hairpin at 1:20

  • why rofl?

  • Does anybody know if this onboardvideo is available on DVD please? I´m looking for WRC onboard material on DVD but it´s not easy to find. Thanks.

  • and btw , this car , the 22b , used the standard sti brakes , i geus it was a restriction at the time , todays cars have way more grip and much better brakes , and the 22b is much bigger , thats much harder to handle in those small spaces !

  • richard burns murio en 2005

  • superb team! what a great driving work! that street is as narrow as a city pavement O.O

  • amazing. I got lost at "60 flat left, 20 medium right minus....uuuhhh

  • uuufff!! q increible!! tremendo piloto!

  • He drove to the last.... He was the brilliant. R.I.P

  • wtf?? when did he die an how??

  • he died of a brain tumor in nov. 2005

  • God rest him such a terrible loss

  • maniac

  • Pure helta skulta u dead u dead

  • thanks Richard RIP,

and thanks mate to post this video

  • RIP Collin RIP Richard

  • Pleasure was mine to ride on board mate RIP

  • But i see a scene with him short sleeves while he wears long sleeves.

  • hawkeye lololol

  • Those 2dr Impreza WRC cars looked fantastic in tarmac setup. Such a shame Burns died so young. He was a class driver.

  • Nice vid, but... I can see now why french drivers are so much better than the others on tarmac. They're much more agressive! And it's a shame here Richard couldn't take an hairpin decently... He was a good driver though.

  • U try hair pin one of them old cars you numb nuts there not like these new technicle marvels, there a bitch in other words the old cars.

  • First things first, why are you disrespecting me?

Of course I can't do any hairpin in any car decently, but I'm not the professional rally driver here! And there were much better drivers on tarmac with those "old cars" you're talking about, and yes, they were able to take hairpins in a most efficient way than Burns in this particular stage.

Anyway I'm not saying Burns was a bad driver. He was the 2001 champion, for god sake!

  • Btw u know its harder to slide on tarmac dont you its not lose like gravel, u got owned, R.I.P. Richard best rally driver ever!!!, i dont care if you dont think he is show some respect you sicko.

  • well , there just harder to handle , cuz they tend to jump back into grip when oversteer is not done correctly , todays wrc cars can keep going sideways , i agree with you , these cars took/take more talent to handle well then todays wrc cars !

  • WOW what a pleasure to watch

  • its good enough to replace the cup of coffee in the morning for getting up ^___^

  • Only one way to find out who's a true racing fan. Whether such simple sound fells just like your own heartbeat. This stuff is visceral. It applies to any form of racing. True fans appreciate that different racing forms present DIFFERENT challenges. How about:

    - 2007 Spa-Francorchamps Onboard: Fernando Alonso

    - Clint Bowyer - On Board - Phoenix 11/10/07

    - Richard Burns (RIP) OnBoard

  • R.I.P We will never forgot you Richard Burns!!!

  • the navigator calls out the corners in advanced

  • that's what they do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You don't really think they should call the corners when they get there do you? That would be very strange.

  • Yeah it would be strange!

  • at 1:43, Reid calls "long 60 slow key right tightens maybe 40... hairping RIGHT"

but actually the hairpin is to the left! LOL thank god Richard is also looking otherwise I dont know where they would have ended.

  • the calls are given out 2 turns ahead of were they are at.

  • yes. the "hairpin RIGHT" he calls at 1:43 ("long 60 slow key right tightens maybe 40,hairpin RIGHT") comes in at 1:53.

  • yes. the "hairpin RIGHT" he calls at 1:43 ("long 60 slow key right tightens maybe 40,hairpin RIGHT") comes in at 1:53 as a hairpin LEFT... he called it out wrong.

  • he didnt, thats why there still going.... normally if a false reading is given, they crash, depending on each driver, some like the calls 2,3,4 or upto 5 turns ahead

  • maybe, but i think the navigator did make a mistake on this ocasion since i didnt hear any 'hair pin left' call for adges before the corner. They were just lucky the corner had quite good vision so burns couldnt really turn left unless he wanted to go off the cliff.

  • If you listen really carefully, you will notice that he doesn't make a mistake. As you know, there is a tight left, followed immediately by an extremely tight right hairpin. The co driver is referring to this right hand hairpin, not the tight left.

Before they get to the tight left, the co driver sais "50 k left, and k left, ("follow this road"?) ", into hairpin right, very tight"

You just need good ears =) His accent does get a bit tricky though lol.

  • Although Robert does make a mistake Burnsy obviously worked it out by the angle the left hairpin was approaching. At 1:42-1:43 "go 60 slow k right tightens maybe 40" is the next corner after the one they just exited, the one approaching, then the "hairpin right 50" is a mistake and its not really at high speed, only 1st, 2nd gear corners but somewhere like Finland the notes really need to be 2-3 corners ahead when travelling at 100mph+!!

  • it was definitely a mistake. no good co-driver would be calling that far ahead on such a slow bit of road. there's absolutely no need. i've seen much of robert's pacing and he leads less ahead on the slow stuff leading into fast stuff, as he should. anyway, it's not as big as it seems. at slow speeds most drivers can tell the direction quite obviously and the severity is what's most important.

  • richard and colin taken... on his day colin just about edged it but richard was so clean it was frightening, god bless miss you both

  • Colin mcrae, Didier auriol and richard burns are my favorites pilots of all time!!...richard was awesome and fuckin crazy too lol

  • Still a big hole...

    never filled...

    R.I.P. Richard

  • burns on his best

  • i love the whine of the dog gears like. can barely hear the engine.

  • Rally is the shit!!!

    The best driving test.

Richard Burns always remembered as 1 of the best.

  • THe co driver is Robert Reid, Richards notes are a lot more complex than most people's. Though Robert has no problem delivering the notes bang on time.

    regards, Andy

  • yeah if you compare it to colin mcrae 's notes. Its very different

  • i think Solberg has the craziest pace notes...phil mills can't even catch his breath

  • how did he die ?

  • Burns died at the age of 34, after having been in a coma for some days as a result of a brain tumour.

  • woow... that sucks... sorry to hear that.

  • i agree with below the road is tight but the camera location also makes it seem even narrower

  • I can't be-fucking-lieve how narrow that road is.

  • Was it eighty? or ET? lol!~

  • navigator's accent is wicked. *sighs* we need this guy in the xgames and rally america so he could show us REAL rallying

  • Like in the game Richard Burns Rally, the road is so fucking narrow. I was scared by even watching this. He makes the driving look easy though the road looks hard.

  • Nice driving from Burns and that game-thing you guys were talking about... RBR really is the top of rally games. The realism and the car handling are something you can´t find from other games. But on the video it was funny when burns entered the tight hairpin with gear 2 and the the car almost stalled but he handled the situation :D

  • MaxDamage13 I fully agree on you at the game opinion,

I meet The man himself couple of times in Finland and Sweden to bad he never got ALOT of time so I can chould talk with him He really toke me close to the sport I#m a rally mechanical, anyway Great onboard footage were u got it Cheers Richard burns and Robert reid Forever

  • Stunning driver and the best we had. Sad loss to the sport. Have an large autographed model of an Imprezza signed the man himself and if you want to have a see how good he was pick up a copy of his game Richard burns Rally on PC/xbox/PS2 as it is so realistic and as a result so hard unlike all the arcade garbage out there.

  • He looks so at ease, it just comes so freaking natural to him. A true talent. And yes, the co-driver(bit uncool to not know his name actually)is keeping his own. I would have been hanging on for dear life!

  • Oh....he. Robeert Reid rules.

  • I was really sad when Richard died, he was my favourite Rally driver too.

That was awesome, how Robert Reid can do what he does is amazing. Yes he made one mistake, but how many of us could do that, and he has to turn pages as well!!

  • Man all that skill gone down the drain. It sucks that he's not around no more I'm actually learning about him at the moment

  • "...right max and sleey mayby, eighty right max tirdy braking flat right..." Thats it...

  • My god, watching that is spectacular. These guys are truly artists.

  • amazing drive. poor Richard Burns. Rest In Peace

  • "to hairpin right VERY TIGHT!"

  • Just amazing. We miss you Richard.

  • Brilliant vid. RIP Richard.

  • Amazing drive! The co-driver is also a pro

  • Burns, McRae, Roger Clark - the best!!

  • he was the greatest british rally driver ever .. and im not just saying that because he is now dead, alot of ppl do that. He is such an legend! RIP Richard Burns, God bless you.

  • Good video. I havent seen that one before :)

  • What a smooth driver. He looked to be having real fun in the last minute of that stage. I miss Richard. RIP.

  • :-( superb Guy, So sad...
