  • I used to love this movie when I was a kid

  • whoever saw this, remember when he spits "its slipping"

  • Thumbs up if you're here for the Nostalgia Critic

  • Quit arguing about this movie. All that the movie "Alaska" is, is a kid and young teen adventure film that happens to have a certain nostalgia to it for some of us who were growing up in the 90's. It's not award worthy. It'll never be a classic. However it is entertaining and happens to take some of us back to a time when life was just a little more simple and adventures seemed possible.

  • @HorrorLurker In some ways it is a classic...

  • It is a waste of time commenting of something you dont like. If you dont like this movie then fine. But its really immature to waste time like that. Go find something else to do you freaking movie nazzi!! And let us enjoy the movies we like. Alaska rocks. And if you can't apprieciate that then maybe you shouldn't be on youtube.

  • @Connerluver4 Okay, now you're saying if I don't like the movie i should be banned from the entire website of youtube, and im retarded? I can understand being banned from this one video, but the entire website, dude that's pretty harsh and immature.

  • @matrixfan127 Your the one that was bashing everyone that said they liked the movie and that it was stupid. All i meant is that everyone has differant tastes and youtube is for people to comment on things they like. I see no point watching something u don't like just so you can complain about it. U may not like or understand this movie but other people do. And u were pretty insulting to some of the other ppl that said they like the movie. U just dont understand the movie.

  • teconology is weird. I can find this movie on dvd at the store and it was made in 1996. But yet there is another movie that kid is in called Masterminds and that hasn't been made into a dvd yet. That is just wierd. they are both great movies.

  • @Connerluver4 Both? good movies? This movie sucks.

  • @matrixfan127 idk y you don't like the movie but I like it. However I will admit that masterminds was better. I happen to like vincent Karthieser and so i like most of his movies. I like alaska cuz of the polar bear and cuz Vincent and thora birch were in it. I thought it was pretty good the first time i saw it. Then again I like movies like this.

  • @Connerluver4 Well, I've never really seen masterminds, but I suppose I'll check it out, I don't like this movie because mainly the kid sounds like a brat, and i mean, a total evil brat, he said he would rather his father die then his mother, and the scene where they show the skin of the mothers corps to the baby polar bear, that is sickening! And I don't know how they couldn't find the yellow plain after searching 3 times, and how the kids set off on their own, which is pretty stupid to me.

  • @matrixfan127 I'm sorry if my comment was rude. If memory serves it was about 3 in the morning I had a headache and I watched this trailer to cheer myself up and I saw that you were commenting to people who said they liked the movie and I just didn't like that. As for the plane thing if U understood the movie you would see that the police were looking in the wrong place that's y the kids went out to look themselves. And the other polar bear scenes r cute. Have u seen the movie Alaska?

  • @Connerluver4 Okay, I understand, but im pretty sure they were lazy at looking for the dad though, heck at one point they were in the same shot, the plane was pretty visible and bright yellow, at the right of the helicopter, all they had to do was turn their head to the right :P It really annoyed me when they ignored the sparks he let off, that really should have gotten their attention.

  • @Connerluver4 I do understand that they were looking in the wrong place, but the plane was just so incredibly visible it was like right by the helicopter, not very hard to see. As for the polar bear scenes they are cute, i thought the ending climax was a little bit corny, and could have had a bit of a better re-take, but still, i thought the brother was quite harsh "I wish you had died and not her" When heard him say that I kinda wanted him to explode I wish you had died and not her! *slam* BOOM

  • @Connerluver4 Sorry if my comments were a little harsh, it's just i wrote those comments right after i saw that movie and mainly the scene where they shove the dead mothers corps in front of the baby polar bear, I was so pissed, so sickened, so digusted at that scene that i needed to find a way to complain, and again the scene was so sickening that i got a bit over the top with what i was writing.

  • woa, a trailor that tells you what the movie is about? that's crazy

  • bahaha pete from mad men

  • How the heck did this get 2 stars?

  • @9797Green I agree! It deserved 1 star!

  • I WANT THAT BEAR!!!

  • And also, this movie is just so mean spirited with lines like "I wish you had died and not her" and when they actually take the skin of the corps with the head still attached, and shove the dead mother's head right in front of the child. That is beyond sickening! Fuck you movie! Fuck you! Alaska has great views and great people, and if you were to judge it by this movie, you would say it has great views and HORRIBLE people!

  • If you think people actually love and remember this movie, then you seriously need to do some research of what most people thought about this movie...

  • And seriously, the thing with showing the son the skin of the mother's corps with the head still attached is demented! That is just beyond sick, that is just horrible, this film should be rated R and have only 0 and a half stars for that!

  • @matrixfan127 matrix fan stfu. You don't know jack shit. this is a timeless classic that will always be remembered. This should have won Best Screenplay though I agree with you there velvetsplinter

  • @oneilldawg No, it will never be remembered because you are one of the very few people that do and it was a horrible film, go online at rotten tomatoes.com

  • @oneilldawg And just because your brave doesn't mean you should do something that could cost you your freaking life! It's saying "I'm brave! So I'm going to go jump off of the Empire state building!"

  • @oneilldawg As a matter of fact, the screenplay was so horrible that this movie was extremely forgettable, as a matter of fact, this movie isn't even ON rotten tomatoes.com! That's how forgettable and un-popular this movie is!

  • @matrixfan127 Rotten Tomatoes is bullshit. They rate the Godfather highly! I think that says enough on the sort of movies they like. That movie was so boring I fell asleep in a minute! Not like Alaska. Alaska deals with tough issues such as loyalty, family, honour, greed and betrayal. Get a fucking brain Matrix fan.

  • The Godfather is a great movie, fuck you! Alaska isn't boring, but the people there are much nicer in real life. How do you like a movie that has people shoving a dead mother's head of the skin of her corps in front of the babies head! And also with lines like I wish you had died and not her! How come they can't see a yellow plane when they are in the same frame! And they couldn't hear that gun he set off? You're just saying rotten tomatoes sucks because you can't accept that this is a bad movie

  • @matrixfan127 SHUT UP! JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE SOMETHING DOESN'T MEAN THAT WE CAN'T LIKE IT. YOU DONT HAVE THE RIGHT TO COMMENT & BITCH TO EVERYONE WHO POSTS THAT THEY LIKE THE MOVIE. THAT IS THIER OPINION. IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THEN YOU DONT HAVE TO WATCH IT. I AM 22 & I THINK YOU NEED TO GROW UP. GO WATCH SOMETHING YOU LIKE & STOP INSULTING PEOPLE JUST CUZ THEY LIKE A MOVIE U DONT!! I LIKE THE MOVIE AND YOU CAN'T CHANGE THAT. NOT EVERYONE LIKES THE SAME STUFF. JUST DROP IT & LEAVE US ALONE

  • @Connerluver4 Eh, you're sound a little more like a little child with quite the temper.

  • @oneilldawg YOU'RE the one that needs to get a fucking brain, because you probably don't understand what The Matrix is about! Me on the other hand, I have a brain... You are such an idiot, P.S Explosions and cool stuff doesn't make a movie good, it's the story. It doesn't matter whether it's boring, it can still be a good movie. If you don't know that The Godfather is one of the most famous movies out, their, then you REALLY need a brain. Fuck you to hell.

  • @matrixfan127 The only reason the Godfather is famous is because it's soooooo boring and pointless. Alaska is a work of art and I hope one day you will wake up and realise this movie is beautiful. Unlike The Godfather and Matrix which are only good if you have no brain and need something to put you to sleep! Explosion's don't make a good movie your right. It is a good story. WHich is why Alaska is amazing and Matrix + Godfather = BORING! THEY HAVE NO GOOD STORYLINE! ALASKA IS A GREAT STORY!

  • Comment removed

  • @oneilldawg he's right matrixfan 127, The Godfather and Matrix have no storyline at all.. Alaska has thrills spills and Polar bears!!!! so you can take your keanu reeves matrix bullshit and shove it up your ass!! and anyway whose even in godfather, Robert de niro, Marlon Brando??? WTF!?!? D grade actors if i ever saw one.. and the director he's got nothing on this guy

  • @velvetsplinter64 Yay! The movie has Polar Bears! Yay, yay, yay! Pretty pretty! :D You are 2 probably, 11. You are too young to understand what the Matrix is about, And you are too little to sit through a boring movie. Just because it's boring doesn't mean it's bad!

  • @matrixfan127 actually i turned thirteen last week...

  • @velvetsplinter64 What are you doing on YouTube?????????????????

  • @velvetsplinter64 Yeah, write again in 3 years.

  • @velvetsplinter64 Far too young to understand what a good movie is...

  • @velvetsplinter64 You are probably the same guy as oneilldawg... Pathetic!

  • @oneilldawg You are fucked up in the head, you probably don't understand what the Matrix is about! Who cares if the God Father is boring? It has a good story! Just because it's boring doesn't mean it's bad! And I can name 10 flaws with this movie. Just ask me. I will give you 10 good reasons why this movie sucks. P.S You are saying that 95% of earth has no brain, because about 95% of earth disliked this movie. Literally. I'm not kidding or anything, a lot of people dislike this movie.

  • Do you think the search would be better if they went on foot *Sees guy in Alaska with yellow plane behind him* "See anything?" "Nope, just sky and mountain as far as the eye can see" "What if you turn around?" "I'm not going to do something like that!" *scream* "Ya hear that?" What ya mean that blood curdling scream?" "Yeah!" "Nope." Stupidest Rescue Team EVER!

  • Here are 4 thing wrong with this movie: 1: They make it look like Alaska is filled with horrible people that want their father's dead instead of their mothers, 2: They actually shove the dead mother's head right at the son, that is fucking sick! 3: They can't see the father's plane? It's not like it blends in with the mountains! He even have freaking flames and they don't see him! Just turn your head to the right!!! 4: They try to make stupid scenes look epic with stupid music and turning frames

  • The only epic part of the movie is the BEAR O_O

  • CLEAR U CLEAR CLLLLEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRR!!!!!!!!! beautiful song critic...

  • Why do you like this movie? They try to make boring scenes look adventuress... And it does not work! And the Polar bear saving the kid and dad, ugh, what a rip! The bear isn't even pulling the rope, he's playing with it! This movie sucks, can't deny.

  • @matrixfan127 boring scenes??? this movie packs more punches than rocky, rambo and every chuck norris movie combined, and jee whizz and can't believe this screenplay didn't win an oscar

  • @velvetsplinter64 Name one good action scene in this entire scene.

  • @velvetsplinter64 And also, watch the Nostalgia Critic's review then you'll see why it didn't win an oscar!

  • @matrixfan127 well theres about a billion, i'm surprised they were able to fit them all in in. what about when the kid falls down the icy slope and bumpshsis head. THATS XTREME

  • @velvetsplinter64 Yeah, he hit his head on... a rock... epic :\ again, you obviously feel for those shots where they try to make it look epic with music and rotating frames while nothing is happening...

  • @velvetsplinter64 How do you think that this has action scenes? Did you actually fall for the whole thing with the walking and having the camera rotating around them and having the whole music playing to make it look epic? First of all, they failed with that, and I honestly can't believe you were stupid enough to fall for that bull! And another thing wrong with this movie, the kids go searching for their father by their freaking selves! Bring a damn adult, hello? You are risking your lives here!

  • @matrixfan127 This film is as epic as they come, and those kids are super brave (and so is the polar bear). your stupid for liking the Matrix, that story makes no sense!!!! CUNT SLUT WHORE FAG

  • @velvetsplinter64 You obviously didn't understand the movie and you are probably 11, and those kids are freaking stupid for going by their selves like it's a camping trip.

  • Omg ... Pete Campbell from Mad Men. O_o lol

  • Theme at 01:12 is from "Empire of the Sun". And of course, the theme at 01:12 is from "The Indian in the Cupboard"!

  • I have seen this preview way too many times on the Fly Away Home VHS tape as a kid. I have memorized this preview just as easily as FAH itself.

  • "pull cubbie pull.". i luv that scene.. watched many times great movie

  • alaska sucks

  • @descendingwinters I'm glad you think so, so hopefully you'll stay away from it and not spoil it's pristine wilderness :-)

  • @ShawDAMAN nice

  • @descendingwinters yo fuck you

  • @descendingwinters yo fuck you

  • PETE CAMPBELL

  • saw this like 10 years ago so weird....

  • I had to watch this in school today.

  • Enid and Pete Campbell are hunted (ala Palin) by a crazed, time traveling astronaut through the Alaskan wilderness as their father's life becomes an overt metaphor for the human condition. Stranded in his bootlegging plane on a perilous rock outcropping swaying high above the frozen tundra, Yukon MacGillicudy summons mystical arctic bears to help Pete land the Vicks account. "The Most Dangerous Game" meets 1977 original punk rock style. A sexy and thought provoking noir-thriller for the 90s!!

  • I saw this movie like a milion times but its always great!:D

  • "Never give up. Trust your instincts."

  • This movies pretty good, I found it on my own last year through netflix, man I have good memories from watching this. But it makes me sad cause I'll never have an older brother, thanks for posting :)

  • @FamilyGuyFanatic800 Toilet Paper!

  • @iwrotebooks I know! I was joking to make it seem like the movie was stupid. But its acatually an awesome movie.

  • ohmygosh! i used to absolutley LOVE this movie! my sister and i would watch it like every day when we were young and then we would pretend we were climbing a mountain on the steps and yell "cut me some slack!" and be all dramatic. awh. i love this movie. best ever <3

  • Wow that looks so cool I wanna see it

  • i love vincent kartheiser - he just has that aura and u can tell hes really fun to b around his eyes are always smiling

  • EPIC!

  • So... what were they going to do once they found him?

  • If anyone wanted to know I just found out the music for this trailer. Form 00:10 to 01:12 it is Cadillac Of The Skies (Empire of the Sun) 01:12 to the end is Closing (The Indian In The Cupboard). Just note this version used is higher pitched and slightly faster Then the original.

I hope this helps anyone who has been looking for these songs.

  • Can Somone tell me the name of the music used?

  • just watched it...

    so great movie..

  • greatest movie of all time... well since the 1988 narnia.. such great lines as NEVER GIVE UP!! and TRUST THE BEAR

  • @velvetsplinter64 the bbc narnia? TURKISH DELIGHT?

  • @velvetsplinter64 You can't say it's the best movie of all time, if it only is in your opinion, this movie sucks, leave you lame opinions to yourself. And those lines are horrible and say suck. Can't deny the least bit.

  • @matrixfan127 phew i don't know man, i didn't see any polar bears in the matrix, alaska for the win

  • LOLZ My name is Jake Barnes

  • i bet your probably a better actor than this guy
