  • what is the tuning of this song?

  • @CillaBlack5

    B A D E B C#

  • Next time you should at least buy me dinner before having sex with my ears...

  • @gayglennp

    thx for mind picture

  • You are just great.. Breathtaking how it sounds like multiple guitars are playing in tandem

  • Andy McKees Son!!

  • do you know what mades me sad?....

that i can't find canada sad tab :'(

  • @like2shipspassing i take it back....

    i found it!

    canada can continue being sad!

  • if canada ever faces a crisis, they should all learn this song just so they could play it simultaneously.

  • @BigCanOfBeans just like in south park

  • i have to learn this song. that is it, the second my sister comes for a visit, i'm getting her to teach me how to use paypal (because i don't know how to use it)!!!

  • @BigCanOfBeans It's a bitch to learn.. but very fun to play.

  • whats the tuning?

  • I can't find the duet!!

There was a version of that with Dufour!! Where is it??

  • @GuitarRT just search "dufour d'andrea canada sad"

  • @BrighamHB

But once there was a high-quality version of the duet in Rpoland's channel

  • Song is fuckin' ballin

  • I like having a resource of amazing guitarist music that not everyone knows about. When you do find someone else who does know about it, you know they have good taste in music.

  • @TheRealGaffer soooooo true.

  • This song sounds hard as fuck to play.

  • @Fiskarrr Learning it right now.. Got me some blisters thanks to this song

  • Its not about the technique - yes he sounds like a Mc-Clone- but who cares?

Its all and endless exploration of maybe the most awesome instrument on our earth...

    THE GUITAR

  • Amazing

  • Amazing

  • 222,222 viewers!

  • it could be the 1000th times in three days that i push the play button for this song. simply awesome ;)

  • am i the only one that thinks of sienfeld at the beginning?

    great song :)

  • Wow. At first I thought he was very quiet, bashful guy that liked writing peaceful music. That changed with Canada Sad. D'Andrea got it real time! :]

  • SSSIIIIIIICCCCKKK!!!!!! way cool man!

  • Nice work! Lots of fret buzz though!

  • @TheMedicMac LEAVE FRET BUZZ ALONE!! Im just kidding, but it does add a lot to the tone of the song, in my opinion.

  • Candy Rat Records will be the only ones I buy this season!

  • Beautiful. Love the Sound.

  • you are amazing kid, keep it up

  • @TDGdude, ok thanks,,,, erm , wheres Conneticuit ? :)

  • This guy is good, but I think he is on the bottom of the list out of the Candy Rat guys, my personal fav is Mr. Antoine Dufour

  • great motion

  • Can´t stop listening and beatbox or play digeridoo to it ..this is soo00OO goo00OOD.

    Craig you ROCK

  • Why isnt canadas main export Great music? It fucking should be!

  • @ThisAlbion Lol... maybe because this guy isn't Canadian? He from Conneticuit. But I agree. People like Antoine Dufour and such should have a much bigger role in the music business.

  • sounds a lot like ewan dobson's through the roof..

go to that video and listen in at :34 seconds

  • How old is this kid!??!

  • @AWiddit 24 i think?

  • this is SUCH a sexy song

  • love u Craig!you're always so kool!

  • @2fast4U0291 its all in the rhythm. i thought i could never do it and then one day .....pop!! i wrote this tune that sounds cool same style as this one. :-)

  • His low string seems tuned a bit high?

  • @Jouwl i think it sounds like that because he plays it with much power, that gives it a special sound, but it also swings a bit more because of that. thatswhy it seems to be tuned a bit too high ;)

  • @Jouwl I think he's using harmonics to extened his the kind of high notes he can play

  • nobody really understands how hard this is

  • Aw, BALLS! I quit!! I'll never get that good.

  • Cool tune man, got a good run to it hey-

especially the 2nd lick-flows over really nicely.

Anyone got the tuning yet? The digital age feeds apathy and to prove it I reckon someone will have figured it out for me!

Keep up the tunes mate - I'll tune in.

    Cheers

  • Canada sad,,,, canada angry america try to push us around all the time

  • tommy emmanuel seems amature (for want of a better word) compared to the guys on candyrat

  • @GarretsShadow Tommy Emmanuel is amazing. Keep in mind that the play style is different because they are of two different generations. If you've been to some of Tommy's concerts, you'll know that he is no amateur and is in fact one of the world's greatest and most respected guitarists.

  • @chaoticblue123 yeah i wrote that comment quite a while back...i take it back

  • @GarretsShadow Haha, serious? ^^

  • wow...im usually not a big fan ...but this song is really good .Nice work :)

  • How does he get the percussion going so smoothly whilst playing?

Is he using all 5 of his right fingers?

  • hes 24 now, so that would put him around 21 in this vid

  • how old is this guy? he doesn't look a day over 19 in this vid.

  • im pretty sure he was like 14 or 15 at the time

  • @czarandmaeve damn really? what a prodigy.

  • wow love it 4 real....keep it up

  • I thought this was pretty groovy - bothered a little bit by some mild out-of-tune notes. Looking forward to when his sound matures in the coming years (not that it's "immature" now, mind you, he's light years ahead of most folks).

  • @xczepxc

It's because the bass note is tuned so low that any slight bend makes a hell of a difference, he does well to keep it from sounding this good

  • @xczepxc tempo's a little off at times too, but this is obviously nitpicky. He's clearly sick at guitar...

  • Really reminds me of FZero tunes. great game, great song - 5 stars

  • that is some serious practice with harmonics

  • I love how you throw in so many parts where it feels like the timing wouldn't work, but then you make it work! This is the only song with sad in the name that has ever made me smile ^_^

    Thank you!

  • This fits when it is raining in canada dude. That's why canada sad.

  • I saw D'Andrea and Dufour live in Chicago and Craig had said he named this song after spending a few days at Antoine's house. Haha. Great live performances.

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • THAT NO SOUND CANADA SAD! THAT SOUND CANADA ANGRY!! CANADA SMASH!

    It had to be said.....

  • @OmegasWill thats funny ha ha

  • @OmegasWill Saw him in concert. He said the song was a reaction to losing at the Canadian guitar fest. He went back and won it the next year though. :D

  • @OmegasWill wtf is that, the incredible hulk?

  • @OmegasWill lmmfao, very nice. thats all ill think about when i hear this song

  • this is the only song i like from him but its a really good song

  • I own the tab set with this song. The real tuning: BADEBC (low to high)

  • Drop D i think very well committed

  • *my guit fly...out of the window#*

  • Awesome playing. There are musicians on You Tube that make Clapton sound like a beginner and I'm a Clapton fan. I guess everybody has their own style and genre of music and playing. I just wish I could play this good.

  • tears in heaven is badass,

there are alot of great musicans is just nowadays great musican is allways pop music witch is sad. and the only differnce between you and clapton is time :) just keep playing bro

  • haha, clapton's pretty damn good. Let's not forget he sings and, forgive me if I'm wrong, but writes his own songs as well. These guys have some great talent, but a different kind of talent.

  • Craig writes his own music too.

  • I never said he didn't, I just said Clapton sings and writes his own songs.

  • Ah, fair enough. You followed it immediately by saying 'these guys' have a different kind of talent, so I thought you believed Craig didn't compose his pieces himself like Clapton did.

  • Haha I looked at my old comment and figured that. I actually think that these guys have more talent than many of the people who are on the top 100 guitarists lists I see. It kinda blows my mind that these guys aren't receiving more publicity.

  • @tman916x i know exactly how you feel! I think these guys are more skilled than sting and jack white and stuff.

  • @tman916x hahaha I've found now days its not how well you can play or sing, it's allllll about your image. which seems to keep the true musicians in the dark.

which is probably a good thing because the huge record company's would grab them and stab em with heroin and then put them on stage playing songs with 3 chord limits and add auto tune to EVERYTHING XD

  • @tman916x: yea right, but the technique they use (it's kind of the same like "Andy McKee and all guys from candyrat[dot]com) nothing say about their skills...

btw_: really nice song like it!

  • @tman916x , i totally agree!

  • @tman916x Not all is lost my good friend, For the #1 guitarist is Jimmi Hendrix.

    And he is a candyrat.

  • @tman916x I agree...for the most part... Derek Trucks is still quite possibly one of the most complete guitarists ever, and he's top 5 xD

  • @tman916x

ahaha xD you think? i would like to see slash play a harp guitar xD

  • @tman916x What I always find hard to understand is why people feel that good artists "must" or "should" get more publicity. You can call my way of thinking unusual but it boils down to this: when artists get publicized, their unique sound has a higher chance of being duplicated, them selling out, or something of the sort. I honestly don't understand what is wrong with artists, in any genre to have a small community. Yes, Craig D'Andrea ia a fantastic musician, but I think he is okay as is.

  • @allmusicsucks Yeah I don't want more people to know about record labels like Candyrat, but I wish their artists got paid more.

  • These guys write their songs too...

  • nah man. Clapton knows how to write a melody.

  • WTF... AWSOME....

  • Tuning is C# B E D A B

  • please help me !!!

    what the tune???

  • D-A-D-G-C-E I think

  • Muy gran guitarrista!

  • does anyone know why the everybody needs one video is private?

  • Of course you love her music, you shameless sock puppet, but it's still shite.

  • haha right xD

  • what do most people use to put up response videos of guitar playing? i've never posted one, so i was wondering if people could give me some pointers? thanks.

  • amazing skills but I don't really like Craig a lot of his songs sound to rushed and lack emotion. Nothing that he has written yet makes me want to buy his CD. Insane skills though.

  • arguable point, i suppose. his new CD is much more "emotional" than his first one, I would agree... regardless, he has enormous room for growth, considering he is only in his early 20's.

  • I understand Craig as a musician because he's going through the same phase in composition as as many young writers. It's very common to take a riff and repeat it as many times as it feels comfortable without adding much technicality, like how you see in Andy and Antoine, they tend to have a lot of bridges between their riffs and are more matured in their playing. I'm nowhere near his skill but i've seen many young writers start similarly.

  • i disagree in the emotion thing you mention in the song Girls Longer Hair. That one is incredible.

  • That's style and preference. If you want to feel a rush. Listen to Don Ross' Loaded Leather Moonroof. Wooof tha'll take you for a ride.

  • three mile bikeride is a new song by craig with plenty of emotion

  • he slows it down with Antoine. Its the superior version IMO

  • your right.

  • wat a big headed twat you are...if your so good and wanna get noticed, put a vid on here........17?? why does it say 22 on your profile....piss off!!

  • dont know what he said because it got removed, but it sounds like he got owned

    /highfive

  • Comment removed

  • the ignorance of your comment knows no bounds. If you think you deserve a shot like Craig D'Andrea was given, you think you would at least recognize the talent (both technical and songwriting) Craig D'Andrea has. The ignorance of your comment leads me to believe that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

  • amazing talent..

  • odd remark

  • FANTASTIC!!

  • he looks very young but has awesome skillz....... i see..

  • yes. i agree, his compositions, technique, and spot on accurate playing are some of the best i've ever heard. he is definitely my favorite acoustic guitarist.

  • Brilliant... dare I say?, unaffected!

  • looks reallly young. plays like a pro.

  • It's not a Baritone. It's an Avalon L10 guitar. Watch my videos, I play the same model!

    Simon

  • Geez, what kind of string does he use if it's no baritone?

  • the strings are actually tuned lower than that. the low e string is tuned to a B.

go buy the tabs, it's worth the $15.

  • He always looks so sad.

  • He's really a nice guy. Talked with him a few times on Facebook, gave me a really good website for learning to read music. I guess he just looks like that when he's playing.

  • could you send me the website? :D

  • woow, how luck to talk with him

  • hes just feeling his music, hes in the moment.

  • tuning

  • Its no a baritone and its probably tuned to low c.

  • Lord have mercy.....lol I've just come into the light of the candy rat crew today and I'm thrilled i will be striving to become an advocate of awesome company.

  • Great job:)

  • 1:13 is such a sick melody / rythm

  • oh i'd love a baritone guitar

  • It's not a baritone, is it?

  • jeeeze how low is that thing tuned?

  • this is still my favorite song by any candyrat artist

  • i think the version with antoine is much much better but this still rocks ....

go watch canada sad duet xD

    its amazing !

  • bravo !!! c est chouette au plaisir ......MARIEPIERRE

  • i swear this man makes the best names for songs!

  • and the best music for the names

  • lol well said

  • I'd like to know how he came up with the title for this song lol.. Doesn't make me think about canada at all lol.

  • He said jokingly at the show in Cleveland that he went to Antoine Dufour's house in Canada for the weekend and it made him sad lol. But it's really about when he went to a fingerstyle guitar competition in Canada and played poorly.

  • Lol thanks for clearing that up for me man :D

  • he said the same thing at his show in FL lol

  • this guy kicks ass

  • I was just trolling guys.....sheesh!

    They're both very good, obviously.

  • me like this. although me curious to why it's called canadian salad. i would prefer not eating a salad consiting of canadians.

  • there's been a mix-up :o

  • canadian salad? your fucked.... oh ya, great grammer....

  • There's so many things wrong with the first and third post...It's hilariously great.

  • Fail.

    Grammar*

  • thats how we spell it in Canada, like you guys spell "favorite" and we spell it like this "favourite" so ya...

  • wow... it's only now that i noticed that it's spelled like that on youtube... ugh

  • I hope you know the "me" stuff was a joke....

  • ya.....right........

  • its called Canada SAD lol where the heck do u see canada salad?

  • ugh. i'm so dislexic. i swear i'm sixteen and it's coming out everywhere. Q.Q. I swear I saw "salad" everytime I watched this vid until you pointed this out.

  • I am really starting to like Craig a Lot more. Everyone needs one and Morrison Country are my two favorites. I cant wait for his new CD

  • I have to disagree... strongly

  • Same here, i think antoine dufour is Very Very uniqie, and not for a second am i saying craig is not, but antoine dufour is truly an inspiration

  • I would have to say that Craig's music is sort of more catchier and easier to listen to, but he is definetly not better than Antoine. You can't really say who is better, they are both amazing in their own right. :)
