  • how do i get your dvd? clayton at gotaxi dot ca

  • do you do other pumps as well

  • @emmy6423 The fuel solinoid driver is probably bad. Go to ssdieselsupplyDotCom for a heat sink set up. I put one on my truck and it works great.

  • I would like to purchase this dvd but cant find it on ebay

  • @emmy6423 May be a bad fuel cutoff solenoid? Air in the fuel or return lines?

  • Would this video cover the IP for a 98 VW New Beetle TDI?

  • Does the mechanical Diesel pump skip a cycle to not feed fuel while the exhaust stroke is happening.

It seams the engine crank turns trice for the intake and exhaust stroke, but the pump cycle is one stroke pushing fuel on both cycles...

My mercedes is shooting out black smoke and won't hold an idle. I am trying to figure this out. THanks.

  • I have a Tafe 35 DI tractor. The injector pump is a bosch mico pump. Are these instructions for that unit?

  • Can you re-list this on ebay so I can buy it

    Thants

  • how many hours should a professional charge for a rebuild? I think i got totally raped at 1300. Also now my check engine light is on after the rebuild and the car only starts sometimes. He claims it is the infection quantity solenoid and he wants another 300 to replace it! Did he mess up the rebuild and screw up this so called injection quantity solenoid in the process? Please help, you're information will be valued... thanks!

  • I want to purchase the Diesel Injection Pump Rebuild DVD through you. Please give me more details.

  • @albertotor1 save yourself the headache. anyone who thinks they can rebuild any injection pump at home (besides the DPA's) and expect it to perform correctly on the engine is asking for trouble

  • @diezletech well said they dont call them specialist for nothing

  • @diezletech

it's not because your dumb everybody is...

  • @diezletech 500+ DVDs sold and only one complaint speaks for itself, I think. Regardless, unless you're completely inept and damage your pump beyond repair, you can always bring it to a professional if you find that you can't do the job properly yourself. $25 is a small investment compared to $1000+ for a professional to do the job.

  • damage to pump

  • DONT TRY THIS AT HOME !!!!

  • DONt try this at home

  • are ther any other parts required besides the seal and gasket set to rebuild the pump i.e. bushings or bearings ect. and are there any special tools required to setup the pump agter the rebuild

  • @havensbc rollers

  • @havensbc most tech. will replace the cam rollers and cam plate if its got alot of wear on it...thats the most common wear part besides the transfer pump blades and liner

  • Is there a "best" gasket set for the VE that will handle the UL Sulphur and Bio_diesel??? And how to order via YouTube??? Thanks for your help!

  • To my knowledge, all new gasket kits (made within at least the last 5 years or so) will be up to the task. You might want to check with a professional rebuilder to be sure. I'm not aware of anyone on You Tube that sells them, but there are several sellers on eBay. A search will turn them up.

  • @archlrk2009

    Hi,

I need to purchase yr video but unable to locate it in ebay.

    pls advice

  • @archlrk2009 I picked mine on Ebay for under 20 bucks. The new kits come with the rubber that can handle biodiesel and whatnot. My pumps started leaking from just plain old dried up rubber, so I can only imagine the pain with biodiesel.

  • @sprxrdr look ur o rings are due to harden and need replacing take to a fuel injection shop

  • I bought your video and it was done very professionally and was a great help. I have a pump that gets stuck on high rpm''s even after the gasket kit was installed. Did I do something wrong or is something just sticking that I can go back in and fix? Thanks for your help.

  • Did your pump have this problem before you resealed it? It's possible that there might be some residue or varnish causing parts to stick or not slide properly. If the problem is new, then you might have put the spill ring in backwards, or some part of the governor assembly has not been installed correctly.

  • @hughesmongous did you run it on a test bench and set it back to spec

  • I would like to order one of these dvd's, could you put some back on ebay. Can't find the listing.

  • search "Diesel Injection Pump Rebuild DVD" on eBay and you'll see the seller's listing. Buy It Now $30 shipped as of 08/22/2009

  • I would like to know how to get the video also.

  • how do we purchase the video ?

  • how do we purchase video?

  • thank you very much for your help. I just recieved your dvd(i'm the guy who ordered it to romania, arad). i recieved it really fast. It's full of valuable informatiomn. i have a 1.6 diesel engine (opel ascona c from 1983 :P ) the fuel pump is exactly the same as the ones one the volkswagen engine. thanks for the info ( i have problem with my cold start pulley, it's stuck - hopefully i dissasembl it and wil find out what is causing it to get stuck)

  • This guy maybe able to take it apart and put it together but he doesnt have the facility to actually rebuild a VE pump you have to have a test bench to completely calibrate pump to specs otherwise his going to be off just like tpvalley your elec. has to be calibrated with a computerized test bench just like the VP44

  • Yes, to completely calibrate a pump to manufacturer's specs you would need a test jig, which the average person doesn't have. I mention all of this in the information I sell. However, a satisfactory job of tearing the pump down, inspecting it, and resealing it can be done by anyone with some mechanical aptitude. Leaking pumps are without a doubt the most common issue. The VE has no electronics and has never required computerized calibration (it was designed long before electronic injection).

  • Why cant u show the full video on youtube?

What controlls dynamic advance and how does it differ between pumps.

I have VE pump from a 2.5 diesel, I have a 1.8 diesel and want to fit cam plate to 2.5 diesel pump because plunger is bigger and it has BPC.

    How do I do it?

And no I wont buy video.

Youtube is for videos not adverts.

  • My video doesn't tell you how to make modifications to your pump, so it probably wouldn't do you much good to buy it. There's plenty of people promoting their products and themselves on YouTube; it's not against the rules that I'm aware of. Some of us just want to make an honest dollar off of something that we poured a lot of time into. Is that unreasonable?

  • Depends whether u r as mean as me! lol

    What controls advance curve?

is it the type of spring in advance cylinder thing?

lift pump presssure controls it I know that much.

  • The "timer" piston on the bottom of the pump controls advance. As it reacts to fuel pressure, the piston slides and rotates the roller ring, causing the injection timing to vary.

  • Yes I know, but I was thinking each application advances different amounts for a given fuel pressure/ application/ the advance curve differs between applications.

I was thinking that the spring that returns advance to unadvanced position is maybe specific to application or maybe a valve that controls fuel pressure to piston is specific to application?

or do they all advance the same amount?

This sounds unlikely as some rev higher than others; see my problem?

    i wish to adapt a 2.5 pump...

  • or is the dynamic advance adjustable by means of the adjuster on the drive end of pump, so can I remove my adjuster and fit to other pump without disturbing the setting?

ie can I remove adjuster bolts valve thing as an assembly without desturbing DA to much?

I reckon Ill nedd to have it set on a test rig dont u?

The max fuelling I can play with, dynamic advance (DA) is tricky!

    Thanks.

  • Yes, different applications will have slightly different curves. You can always try adding or removing shims from the spring to get a different curve. Beyond that, I don't know. You should try to find someone who has done the modification that you want to do. They'd be able to give you specifics.

  • Hi if want more fuel is simple you can take a shim out of the advance and it will give you more fuel on top as the advance takes over on fueling when playing with a camplate from different pumps its hard to get into time just as a dodge Ve has a standard 2.8 mm rise and we put in 4mm rise without a test bench its hard to set it if you want power adjust the fuel screw and if you want take shim out and you can loosen your mounting bolts and turn the pump towards the motor this advances time 8 deg

  • The advance mechanism moves rollors that effect cam plate, I can see how moving rollers effects max fuelling?

Do u mean that adjusting advance shims can compensate for new cam plate being slightly out timing wise?

  • how easy is it to modify a non boost compensated pump (VE) to fit the compensator parts from a turbo pump?

  • I require info on a vp37 bosch pump, its an electronic version of the VE.

  • just got done putting ours together on 85 toyota....hardest thing ever but i figured it out

  • The poster constantly ignore messages it seems, greed to sell video maybe?

  • Sorry, this is my wife's account. I don't always get word that there's been a message posted. I don't have any information on the VP pump, and I've never modified a NA VE pump for use on a turbocharged engine.
