  • What a heartwarming story! I had to accept your friend request because you are doing something productive and helping others. While some criticize your policy of loaning money to women, last I knew you can do whatever you want with your own money! :-) Those who have a problem with children working don't understand the concept of the family farm in America and are ignorant of the "work ethic" in general. I've been working since 14 and it did not stop me from going to school or having fun.

  • @PatsBlog Thank you for your honest feedback and you are so right, the concept of family-work in other countries is different, like in our video; the kid wants to do the job for a few hours after school. These kinds learn that work enhances a person. We do believe that education is important for those children and because of our loans our clients are able to grow their businesses and hire employees allowing their children more time for school and play.

  • Sorry but I had to turn down your friend request because your organisation only offer loans to women. That is sexist, pure and simple.

  • @WizardKing78 I understand that it may seem that way given that in developing countries there are more women who are head of households for different reasons many of the loans go to woman entrepreneurs, but we do disburse loans to men and woman alike. I invite you to visit our website mentorsinternational. org under “The stories Tab”

  • Very interesting to take note of the growth...I appreciate the efforts of Mentors International.

  • @Jbalaji Thank you for your support, we firmly believe in our cause because we have seen the change in teh lives of many of our clients. We share some of those stories on our website mentorsinternational. org

  • Did I see child labor being used I thought that was illegal all over the world, I know it goes on, but I have never seen it portraid as in this video the only person I saw working was a 10 year old child how is that posible that anyone would support that & wish to donate to any programme that sees children as al abor force, which prevents that child from going to school,& receiving a proper education, it is plainly wrong how can anyone say it is good.Adults work children play.

  • @worldmusicforum We don’t support child exploitation. The culture is different in other countries were the children learn to work in the family farms after school, I invite you to see the entire story of Ronny, the boy on our video, it is on our website mentorsinternational. org under the tab “The stories/ Ronny the box maker” We believe that if we help families to grow their businesses they can hire employees allowing their children more time for school and play.

  • @worldmusicforum Apparently, you are unfamiliar with the concept of the family farm, chores, and the American work ethic in general. I have worked since I was about 12. At about 14 I was working small part-time jobs outside of my family (mowing lawns, library page). In some parts of the world a child couldn't go to school without working. In some parts of the world there are no jobs at all--just abject poverty. The best gift my father gave me was a drive to work.

  • The issue is with the capitalist society itself, your work is ignoring the root of the issue, and by trying to be creative and patch some troubles here and there, it's another way to take our eyes from the cause and it looks like by donating to your "services" to help others would solve all the world problems!

Ask the US government and their multinational corporations buddies to pay back for the long history of exploitation of Latin America.

  • How do I donate? What could I otherwise do to help?

This is a wonderful video, by the way.

  • @hairyreasoner Thank you for your feedback and your willingness to get involved in this great cause. If you wish to donate please visit our website mentorsinternational. org under the tab “Get involved.” You can also get involved by letting others now about the work we’re doing to give a hand up to others in developing countries.
