If Susan Boyle has a career a tenth as successful as this amazing performer has had over the past 40 years (Elaine is now 61!) then she will be an extremely lucky woman. Elaine is a musical actress, Susan is a singer - and not that great a singer - she needs to learn how to convey emotion - maybe she should listen to this masterclass.

I'm sorry but how can you say that Susan Boyle is better than Elaine Page???? Did no one hear how inaccurate and off note Susan's attempt at this song was? And the emotion was next to nothing compared to Elaine Page. Considering that its an emotional song, this is quite an important factor. I think people think Susan is better than she really is just because she gave us a suprise when she sounded half decent in the auditions

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with at least a portion of your analysis. I only noticed one instance of Boyle missing a note. Of course Paige is the more polished performer- I could never take anything away from her talent- but I think your perception of Boyle may be colored in comparison of exemplary performer that is Elaine Paige.

Nooooooooo waaaaaaaaayyyy. this is Elaine's song. Andrew Lyod Webber actually wrote this song for her. I would harly doubt it that Susan sings it better than Elaine, they sing it very different. Elaine sings it with emotion, Susan just sings it.
