ok the mystery ends here first it was gensomaiden saiyuki then saiyuki reload and saiyuki gaiden was before saiyuki I think..I dont know exactly because if its the sanzo with long hair it is the past life...if not...its the next of saiyuki and saiyuki reload.. I know only the animes ...1. geonsomaiden saiyuki 2. saiyuki reload 3. saiyuki gunlock...end

the Sanzo with long hair's name is Konzen and he is Sanzo's past life. Konzen is from Saiyuki Gaiden which is the manga series right before Saiyuki. Saiyuki Gaiden is also a mini series in geonsomaiden saiyuki... :)

Well, manga series wise, Saiyuki was printed first, and it's first. Yes, there were nine of them.

Then, 6 books into Saiyuki Reload, Kazuya Minekura started creating the Saiyuki Gaiden [not Garden, Gaiden]. And Gaiden continues for only 4 volumes, I believe.

I think that it will be an anime soon. I think it's part of the Saiyuki Burial thing coming out sometime this year but I'm not sure.

Saiyuki GAIDEN is mostly in manga form but if you watch Geonsomaiden Saiyuki you can see flash back of it. But I have read rumors that Gaiden may become fully animated
