@harebare101 upwind the crew takes the main and the helm has one hand crew, but downwind the helm has the main. As you gybe the main ends up in your tiller hand so you have your front hand free to grab either the handle or loop to go out.
Great video. You sail that boat extremely well! Any idea of the minimum crew weight for a 49er? Me and my mate are curious to know when we can start sailing one.
@harebare101 As a skipper you just steer and dont work the main. So you have one hand free.
