Yes , it is really beautiful, and thank you for uploading. I was searching for this beautiful piece. But it is too tantalisingly short. And are you sure it is appropriate for the kind of "audition" shown in the film?
In real life, most muslim girls from sub-continent will have public singing experience of hamd, naat, nohay, marsiay and the kind. Therefore, it was very natural response and no doubt very moving. I was taken by its originality and decided to upload it. Note that "appropriateness" is a relative term most of the times and I think it is very appropriate for an art movie.
You are perfectly right, it is a beautiful and moving piece, and an original idea, and you were perfectly right in uploading it for people like me who were searching for it. I only meant that since the girl is auditioning for a dubious profession, and is not shown as very scrupulous or moral in later parts of the film, the context may not have been appropriate for a moving religious piece like this. But of course I am glad it was there in the film anyway, and I wish it had been longer.
I dont know if many of us are aware of this fact, that all the kalaam of mir anis was not based on his imagination. He actually used to have visions of Karbala.. Next time when you read his work, you can actually relate to the intensity of the moments.. Our salam to Hussain (a.s) and the mission of Hussainyat and to its true supporters.
