Im not sayin that Charie didn't tell those people to do it but i don't believe he should have been sent to prison. Charlie thought that Terry Melcher a man who snubbed his music lived there at that time. He told them all to kill everyone inside and to do it brutally. This looks like it was taken on the lower end of Cielo Dr. just up from Benedict Canyon Road, now where near the top of the hill. The only thing left today is the telephone pole Tex climbed to cut the phone lines just to the right of the original gate.

The Tate house was torn down in 1994, after it was purchased by the current owner, a new 17,000 sq ft home sits on the 3 acres today. The original door is in a music studio in New Orleans, and at one time you could buy the bricks from the fire place. Driving up to the gate is still a very odd feeling even after 41 years.

This is the entrance to 10048 Cielo Dr. The house here was built at the same time as 10050 and were almost identical ,when the Tate house was torn down, this property was also remodeled, you can see it on Google Earth. It is right below where the Tate house was.

The real gate is at the end of an unnamed street that is past this driveway up Cielo to the left. It took me three visits to figure it out. The telephone poll that Tex climbed is still there but the gate and house are different. Yeah I'm obsessed and I don't care.
