What a truly amazing, and intelligent man. It must have been so wonderful, but difficult (!) to interview him, his intelligence is far superiour to any normal human. Thanks!!! :-)
I am not ready for it to end. Process more, yes please! Yes, please tell Mr. Gitlis that we need him to reach out to the young musicians of today's world! Here goes the light bulb; maybe a you tube video series! The young people need coaches who live the music through great love and relations! Someone who will show them the way through great wisdom. My daughter, she plays and plays her violin, and she can really play! She dreams of playing! Oh, how I wish she could have a mentor of his wisdom!
Music IS life!!!! Love this interview....thanks for sharing! A very wise man indeed. I think he has living all figured out in a wonderful and beautiful way...
Thank you HIliary, a treasured moment listening to a great master whose musical life spans difficult times, many changes. It's special for me to see you two interact in a casual way instead of having the master on show eg I. Stern, Perlman, Kogan, Zukerman w/specific agendas to address. Gentle reality, just chatting. Maestro Gitlis is inspirational, a musical force in my life. Perhaps it's my age, but I feel as he does about teaching, drawing from a student's intuitive & often learning myself.
Elle est très bien cette vidéo. Pour les fans ç'est un moment magique de voir Mr Ivry GITLIS et Madame Hilary HAHN discuter ensemble autour d'un café.
It is interesting to see them both together! They both did interviews a long time ago for the dvd "Art of the Violin" she was much younger then, and he is still a character!
That was wonderful, Hilary! You are a very good interviewer! Ivry Gitlis is a fascinating person as well as one of the great violinists! Thank you for letting us watch you both!
Thanks so much for sharing this conversation with Ivry with us Hilary! I was struck by his generous spirit, infused with a bit of sly humor (not to mention humility). I'm certain you both had a delightful dinner! Cheers!

Great that she got him, another violinist! I wonder if she'd do interviews with Ida Haendel, Ithzak Perlman, Joshua Bell or Anne-Sophie Mutter too.

@semperwifi1 You must have remembered when I said she was a "jedi of the violin"! He's great too, but I've seen her prowess many times now.
