The Quran was written down in front of the prophet during his life, it was gathered in one book a year after the prophet died, after a lot of the companions lost their lives in the battle of Yamamah, the reason it was not gathered in the prophet's time was that the prophet did not know when the revelation would stop, and many of the companions knew the Quran by heart and it has been an unchanged text since.

i have A question ? Muslims chide Christians because the earliest complete copies of the Bible were written 300 years after the originals of the first century. Yet Muslim scholars state the earliest copy of the Koran was written no earlier than 150 years after Muhammad died. My question is: in light of this fact, how could the Koran possibly be better than the Bible and would you please state the name and location and date of the earliest Koran you believe to be in existence?

thank you for your question as this is a common misconception.
The Quran was written down in front of the prophet during his life, it was gathered in one book a year after the prophet died, after a lot of the companions lost their lives in the battle of Yamamah, the reason it was not gathered in the prophet's time was that the prophet did not know when the revelation would stop, and many of the companions knew the Quran by heart and it has been an unchanged text since.

I, who is as well a christian , chose to read the quran because in the bible it says to seek knowledge so this is what I did. I would advice all christians to read the quran as any other books in your bookshelves and now you may comment on it. Remember , we are not supposed to judge and if you have faith you will know exactly what to do.This advice is by no means to insult anyone but I do not think God wants us to be fighting over religions.

Since they (the slanders) have not produce witnesses! @explaining4u The old testament was re-written (hence the new testament) because it was too violent and God was not the all-singing, all dancing kind and caring soul he was re-written as. It told stories of God persecuting and destroying non-believers himself and by instructing others to do so (hunt them down and kill them). He was portrayed as a wicked and cruel being who was sadistic and controlling. As you can imagiine, it would not have had mass-market appeal so they re-wrote it
