    elwood blatch

  • very cool work!

  • This comment may appear twice as you tube froze when i posted it before but here goes again. Hi do you have to use a 3.3uF capacitor and does it have to be rated exactly 16Volts, Also what is the purpose of this mod what is the capacitor actually doing to stop the repeating? I can't play my set until I do this mod the double hitting of the bass drum is really annoying.

  • Not sure, perhaps you should contact the manufacturer direct?

  • Hi does the capacitor for the pedals have to be 3.3uF and does it have to be 16 volt rating? having trouble finding 3.3uF, 16 V rated. But what is the capacitor actually doing? Please excuse my ignorance but my electronics knowledge isn't great i'm afraid, Thanks Fletch

  • the sounds actually sound better..cuz you can tune each pad to what you want it to sound like and control its volume..i have one and it sounds great...the only problem is , yes the pedals, mostly because they will move aruond so you probally need to duck tape them down..and the screws would get loose very easily and the pads will fall lower and you usually have to raise them back up to position about every 5 minutes, but i love mine...and you should get one..

  • napoleon is better looking looking

  • Great Demo, I suppose I can understand people who say get a real drum kit and I can afford either type. I think though even though obviously a real drum kit does sound better, for practicing the usb wins hands down and after all you can always buy a real one later if you really want one so what's the problem?

One question though Zcaprd7, they say everywhere you cant link two up i'm sorry blah blah blah, how did you do it???? you didn't put that in the video did you?

  • Erm, you went through a LOT of hassle to play an 3rd rate electric drumkit. Just get a 2nd hand Yamaha DTXpress. About £300 odd ($600), they sound great, the pads last, unlike the ION's and TBH, I wouldn't really want any other manufacturer making the drum machine with their history.

  • lost out in space, or something

  • IMO electronic drum kits are fantastic for those who want to practice without pissing off the neighbours, doesn't matter if they sound like shit (much) just as long as they do what they're meant to. Plus they're way smaller and easier to store than proper drum kits.

That kit looks awesome! Woo you've linked to an iED05, thats the one I may buy! YAY CHEAP! xD

  • should hook the kit upto an mpc or some thing and make your own drum sounds

    yeeee boyyyyy

  • [Sigh], no one seems to get it.

Yes, its a bit crap, but its cheap, sounds half decent - doesn't piss off the neighbours and at a snip - its good enough for band practice or a small pub gig...

  • one question. If I buy the kit without the drum module is it possible to use any other kind of modules(better ones)?coz if so, its really worth the 140$ to buy and than buy a good module.this is what i wanna do,theres no point of building one if the thing w/o module is so cheap.

  • No one answered but yes you should be able to do so. Just make sure the drum module has the amount of triggers you'll eventually need.

  • i didn't get anything lol

  • y do u play ion... there shit???

play a real electric kit like a roland...

  • Rolands are expensive though?

  • Rolands are great, my drummer has a TD12 but sounds aren't that hot tbh. Running my ion out through midi I've been using session drummer 2, excellent sounds although I love my maple snare sample I found on the net :)

So basically, the kit doesnt really matter although I must admit the bass pedal is a problem.

    Very cheap but usable kit!

  • pretty smart stuff

  • I have this same set! (I also hooked up two of them)

  • You sound like a grown up Napoleon Dynomite

  • If your going to go through all the hassle of building this kit wouldn't it be better to just invest your time and money into a REAL drum kit??

  • Because its not much hassle and its still cheaper...

  • do you have to use this in a usb or can you use an amp? im a 12 y o and have a full kit- its a bit inconvienient size-wize and v. noisy. also, is there a headphone socket? i wish i bought one of these in the first place- its sooooo much cheaper!

  • Hi, you can get an extra gizmo that you plug the lead into, and that can plug into a amp

  • Ok thankyou for this information im going to buy one of these PRACTISE PRACTISE PRACTISE and if i get good then i,ll consider a second set or a better set

  • ok thankyou i think im getting one now but my parents are still a bit unsure i,ll use it

  • Well, its better than buying a full kit - no noise and cheaper - you could always resell it on ebay if you don't use it as much.

Also Vista drivers are on the page in the video description..

  • Wow you are a genius i was looking into buying one of these sets do you think its good for a complete starter??? i have only just got a new laptop and have a huge interest in music and computers so this drum set fits them together so would this be good for a complete starter??

  • Yes, its a good kit to start with - and to continue with for practising.

  • kool set up !

  • Thanks

  • Excellent video, and very nice mods. I liked your narration as well.

  • At last, someone with a nice comment!

  • WOW. I have the same set, but I never imagined something like this could be done with it! You sir are a genius. I have also had some problems with my pedals, but after watching this I think I can fix it. Thanks!

  • you dont get thoes retarded problems with rolands

  • Yes, but were're not all rich... this is something for beginners!

  • good and helpful to anyone looking into this product, thanks

  • It seems a bit shity because numerouse bits have broken. You kit isnt fit for a hobo

  • Yeah, well normal kits are always falling apart - its pretty easy to repair as well as to get new pads.

  • Dude wouldnt it be easier just to buy a cheap drum kit?

  • Hi, well, a usb drum kit costs £130 - and its a right pain taking a full drum kit to small gigs (pubs and bars) when I can take something that plugs into an amp or PA system.
