  • Does anyone knows if you can you onion flower instead of real oninens?

  • Bless ur mom for bringing up such a wonderful women!...... Every vid is easy and simple to understand... The food delicious just looking @ it!

  • I love your right italian accent inside of an english speech *_*

  • i find cooked unions ruin spagetti it taste so horrible :/

  • @breakingthebeat don't put them.

  • you used cream and onion in a carbonara? Some Italian.

  • God, you make me hungry, Laura! It's all your fault! Now I have to go home and make carbonara dinner! (only to change the bacon with mushroom cos I don't eat meat).

  • the onion will not work.

    Best,

    Danae

  • You should have your own show on tv

  • I usually like your recipes but I have to say that this carbonara is not the "original" one at all. Carbonara is supposed to be a Roman dish and in Rome we use pecorino instead of parmigiano and definitely we do not put cream. I've seen using cream in many restaurants abroad but never in Rome. Maybe in Naples you use cream but if it is so it's not correct to use the word "orginal".

  • @Reveduvide i think she didn't claim this carbonara as the original one. she did an altered napolitan style carbonara

  • Love your recipes! Had luck with the three I tried...u should be on TV!!!

  • I just made this dish and fluffy brownies, pizza, that chicken thingie all so delicious and soooo easy to make. Thank you so much Laura, you are the best!

  • *gets out a tonne weight* ok one tonne of back pepper.

  • I made this yesterday and it was amazing!!! :D

  • just made this. OMG best carbonara ever

  • Just made this. It was delicious and I'm so full! :)

  • I'm from Milan and I use garlic instead of onion and only the yonk of the egg, without heavy cream :) But even in Milan every family has it's way to do carbonara I think that this is the wonderful thing of italian kitchen: many different ways of doing it, but all of them are delicious!

  • Once see your face i already want to cook thank....:)

  • Wow I really hate the way she emphasises the Italian words...

PARMJANO JANO JIANO BANO FUCK SAKE!!!!!!!!!

  • @HoodieING lol sorry to interrupt u wiz ur foul language bt its parmesan reggiano and she makes it sounds so cute lolz

  • @HoodieING the word is not emphasised, this is the correct pronunciation of parmigiano reggiano!:)

  • Like most who can cook a bit, but am always on the search for creative ideas, Laura is a great "find". Keep up the good work, your efforts are appreciated.

  • Made this for lunch today. Turned out great! Definitely going to try more of your recipes. Thanks Laura!

Btw, you're totally right about the pepper, makes a HUGE difference.

  • THAT is the real carbonara recipe. congrats Laura, i ate that in naples-italy and was looking here to try make it, and only you made it really exactly like original carbonara. loved!!!

  • made this today.. it was delicious!!!!

  • @ LauraVitalesKitchen does this serve only one person?

  • Another delicious recipe! I LOVE spaghetti alla carbonara, but I've never tried to make it myself because it intimidated me. Thanks for showing me I could actually cook it myself. It was easy, turned out great, and my boyfriend loved it too. I'm definitely going to make it again!

  • Laura,

Brava !! forza Napoli : )

  • I made this Carbonara for dinner today :)

  • We had carbonara for dinner the day before,

And my dad just bought the jar of carbonara sauce and just cook it and add some mushrooms and ham.

  • @knightwingchowdhury1 From Naples, Italy

  • Im really hungry right now :(

  • Looks great, though I will need to buy the cream, bacon, and cheese. I usually don't buy those for health reasons, but this would be a nice treat to splurge on. :)

  • it is amazing!!!i made it and i am in love with this!!!here in greece people do it very wrong...it is like soup.....and we dont use eggs only heavy cream....i love your recipes!!!!

  • can you use ham, and for the sauce can't you just use cream cheese. p.s i love your videos, keep e'm coming xx :)

  • @therecookiemonster92 That would taste totally different. Interesting maybe, but different.

  • Laura needs a show on food network or something :) Love love love your recipes and your videos are wonderful.

  • If you came from Naples, you HAVE to do the pastiera napoletana (my favorite dessert for the record). For your carbonara just add some cooking water at the end, to make it creamier. Personally I don't put the onion, and mix parmesan and pecorino. Some prefer to use guanciale (ehm... I don't know how translate it) instead of bacon/pancetta but I don't really care

  • omg i jussssttt made this laura its sooo delich!!! full of flavour!!!!

  • do ever do private events??

  • i just did this a while ago, and this is really good... but for all, i would omit the onion next time...and add a little more cream (because I like CREAMY pasta carbonara), i dont like the traditional version... anyway, a definite keeper... good job laura!

  • have you tried the authentic version? do you like this version better?

authentic italian doesn't use cream on this dish

  • Pause at 1:21, dentist!!! Cheese! Lol

  • i made this and it tasted great! but i used spam instead of bacon. and i didnt add onion.

  • what if i use just regular parmesan, will it taste the same?

  • i thought your not suppose to put oil with bacon because it has the fat as its oil

  • Thanks for upload, needed some direction here on does/do nots

  • can you use cheddar if you cant find parmesan?

  • @devii1802 i actually did... and taste great too... but what i did is half of parmesan and half cheddar...

  • LOL I thought I could actually smell it but that was my housemate cooking her carbonara!

  • This recipe is simply fabulous - so simple yet sooo tasty!

  • why didn't you use garlic???

  • hey laura, i cannot find your facebook . im from brunei Darussalam

  • hi laura, since u are italian, i thought authentic spaghetti alla carbonara doesn't have cream in it?

  • @missmickery i think she's from Portugal...(or somewhere middle east)..

  • I just made this for breakfast and it was awesome.

  • you're from Naples? thats a weird Italian accent you've got.

  • Its a jersey thing

  • Are you italian???? :)

  • @LauraVitalesKitchen ahh i see bt in the first i think you live in ameria are u half america

  • By a ton of black pepper, do you mean american short ton or a metric ton?

  • Hi Laura, do you know how to make Italian Sausages? that would be great. Thanks

  • @ buonappetitocuisine dude dont judge or try to be negative here. this is her way of doing it .. you cant tell anyone or no one what to do... enough with your spam and go spam somewhere else... so you like to dis others the way the "family" cooks? your a sad case my friend.. you may know your stuff but this isnt your video...

  • thank you for posting,,i will make it tonight for my husband..

  • Hi Laura ! (: I wanna ask if i can't get hold of the cheese , can i leave the cheese out ? Just with the eggs and the heavy cream ? (: Thanks !

  • Please please PLEASE can you make a toffee muffin recipe. And can you spread liquidy melted toffee on top of the muffin :)

  • ooo, i made this dish for my husband, with the exception of the pork. I used some good chicken, garlic, sun dried tomatoes sausages. its a quick meal. was a hit! thx my dear

  • I'm not a fan of bacon...can anyone tell me if i can make this with ham instead???? Thanks! =)

  • @Angels79av Pancheta.. guanciale would be even better.. but they're like bacon too so I'm not really too helpful. :P Ham is just not smokey enough to taste really good, but it might work. I think. :)

  • what is the heavy cream thou? it's something like whipped cream??

    can anybody let me know?

  • @jini6046 Whipped cream is cream that is.. well.. whipped already. Whipping cream on the other hand, is different than heavy cream. Heavy cream has more fat content. It can also be called heavy whipping cream I think.

  • @jini6046 if you whip heavy cream it becomes whipped cream. so yes, heavy cream is also called double cream or 'heavy whipping cream'. it has a thicker consistency than milk and more fat content.

  • do you use a sweet onion? or will a regular cooking onion work fine

  • what is the heavy cream thou? it's something like whipped cream??

    can anybody let me know?

  • Hello Laura! I tried your carbonara recipe today and it was fantastic. I love the way you do it, with the onions, and the egg sauce. I hate when you get carbonara with a raw egg yolk on top. This was great!

  • @jemmymar1984 She tells about different ways to do Carbonara and that is her way, I personally do not put heavy cream in it, but I'm not afraid to try her way one day

  • @GodUd6589 i can be agree but its name isn't "carbonara!!!" word of an italian

  • I made that on Saturday for dinner with tagliatelle and it was awesomely goooood ;P Thanks!

  • Do NOT rinse your spaghetti with water after cooking! Laura forgot to mention that :) Infact, never do that at all.

Laura I love you, thank you for all the nice vids.

  • I tried this today with me and my six kids. It was a total HIT! Everyone absolutely loved it.

  • Very good

  • did you make this on the same day you made the red velvet cucpcakes with cream cheese frosting

  • My recipe of Carbonara might be weird to a whole lot of people...but because I'm not a fan of bacon at all, I like to saute ham, mushrooms, and green peppers in olive oil with the onions. Then I add some salt n pepper with a cup of heavy cream, add Parmesan cheese, bring to a light boil, then i like to add a teaspoon of cornstarch with 4 tbs of milk which makes it really nice n creamy. I also do not add the sauce in the pasta. I leave it in the sauce pan to reheat it the next day...lol...YUM!!!

  • Perfect... i would cook the bacon longer, but not if using pancetta. Thanks for sharing this!!

  • This looks delicious I'm going to make this on the weekend yummy :)

  • Laura is on the money all the time. Food Network should pick up her show, she's a natural, and she always makes the most delicious food!

  • You should go on Chopped! (:

  • wow she barely chewed b4 she swallowed O_O.... must be that good

  • Anal-retentive chef says: that onion is not finely chopped. More like diced. And that was clearly not a ton of pepper. psh.

LOL :D Great video as always!

  • Great recipe!!!

  • <3

  • I love when you speak Italian!!! ;) gonna make this tonight :D

  • Complimenti per la ricetta..è proprio fedele all'originale! Un saluto da un fan italiana :)

  • wow...looks sooo good! its strange, so many carobnara recipes/videos start out..."this is the right way to make carbonara"...and they are all alittle bit different! makes me believe that ppl are very passionate about thier way of making it. thanks so much for posting, can't wait to try your version!!!

  • oh my u should make a more better video but this was good enough

  • this is how I make my carbonara. It is so good.

  • can i replaced the bacon with beef? :D

  • Thanks Laura!

  • I've never used cream in it. I usually use garlic, pancetta (when available, very hard to get around here) and eggs. To make the sauce less thick, just add a tiny bit of the pasta water into the eggs to temper them.

Also, Pecorino if you can get it, but Parmesan is a good substitute.

  • hey lauraa!! what other types of meat cn we use besides pork in this recipe

  • BEEEP BEEP BEEP? ANYWAY YUMMMM

  • i like more sauce, can i double the amount of sauce?

  • you know what i've noticed? laura never chews her food..lol
