@mapleavenue77 - this show was the day after The Smiths had played G-Mex - an enormodome railway station converted into a venue. The Smiths played a shortened set and this one, the day after, was seen as the "proper" homecoming gig. I travelled up from Stoke on a coach. I have photos - go to Flickr & search for efsb and then search among my photos for images tagged "smiths" and you'll find some historical documents of the gig!
Thanks for sharing the story and photos. Your close ups were very good. Are you a professional? (Also, that statue of Lincoln in Manchester was very interesting. And you're right -- he does look like Morrissey.
@mapleavenue77 Cheers - Not professional - just an enthusiastic amateur - as for Johnny doing an Elvis - I can't remember if I saw him with that hairstyle...that part of my brain must have melted...!!
i am rather ashamed that i would gladly give up my right arm to be there

@efsb You lucky B*stard. And if you say you're the fellow who could be heard loudly saying "Fame Fame Fatal Fame" I'll dislike you even more.
Not really. Tell us about the show. One of the reasons I recently moved to London was to see Morrissey play live. He won't play in my native Canada.
