  • Hi there, maybe You can help me aswell, I'm new to NX2. When oploading raw, all images are wrong colors, people skin mostly blue. All color profiles I use are Adobe RGB 1998, in camera and set same in NX2, but no good. Have You ever came across some thing like this case. Thanks in advance for Your time.

  • @raugelis hmm. all your camera settings should be the same on capture nx2 automatically without any changes unless you made some changes. let check with these:

    1) is your monitor calibrated?

    2) if the monitor isn't calibrated, is it set for the right color space (via computer's preferences, not capture nx2)?

    3) is capture nx2 running on adobe RGB color space?

i'm betting it's the uncalibrated monitor because it's a very common error.

  • @superkiwizorro I wish it would be that easy :) monitor calibrated every 6 months in pro lab I send all my prints. And it small bit strange, when Im looking at image, when Im brousing in folder, images are right color, but onese it been draget to work space, it turns blue, no red. If it would be printer, I would just say red, or yellow chanes is blocked.

  • @raugelis try using sRGB color profile in your camera and sRGB color space on capture nx2. give these settings a whirl and if the pictures come out fine then something's definitely off with adobeRGB color space on capture nx2. let me know, thanks.

  • What a flippin brilliant tutorial.......Thanks for posting it....I'm thinking of changing to NX2 from Aperture 3. This will help.

  • Can u please tell me how to get D2x picture controls into NX2? Thanks for all the GREAT info and all your hard work. You have taught me tons with all your vids. I really treasure the AUTO FOCUS tutorials.

  • D2X Modes I, II, and III Picture Control settings are included in one of the Capture NX2's updates but we're not sure which. If your Capture NX2 doesn't have D2X Modes in the Picture Control's drop menu, that means it's time for you to update the software. Launch CNX2 then go to Help > Update Nikon Capture NX2 and install all available updates.

    Thanks for the compliments.

  • are you familiar with Picasa editing software and the "im feeling lucky" button which gives you a one hit auto fix of the selected pic, does NX2 have anything like this

i know picasa is a free basic piece of software but its lay out is soooo logical, if only NX2 and Adobe could be so simple and logical it would make life so much easier

  • If you get the camera settings, exposure settings, and white balance right then yes, CNX2 can easily do that via batch process. Plus, stop being lazy.

  • Such a powerful piece of software once you know what's available to use.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Hello, I just purchased Capture NX2 and installed it on my PC and I have ran into bit of a problem, I'm not able to open NEF files. I followed what the instruction manual said and I also followed your video but when I go to open the file it says, unable to open. If you have the time and are wiling to send me a PM with a helping hand I would greatly appreciate it. :)

  • Try this first: Launch CNX2 then go to Help > Update Nikon Capture NX2 and install all available updates. We know Nikon D7000 are not yet compatible with Nikon Capture NX2 and the upcoming update will address the compatibility issue.

  • Awesome guys! Can't thank you enough for this. Let me know if I can ever help you guys out with anything!

  • Portrait and Landscape are avaliable with the D90 from the very first day.

  • @NLS87 yea so?? watch the vid again lol joey said those could b downloaded for D300 D300s D700 and D3 series. he didnt say D90 at all.

  • Thank you, Zorro.

NLS87, the Portrait and Landscape Picture Control settings are available on D3000, D5000, and D90. However, you have to download it for other cameras that are equipped with Picture Control (D300, D300s, D700, and D3-Series). Hence we said they are compatible with these aforementioned models only.

  • OMG!! ok i have to pick up my jaw off the floor..... this vid answered soooo many of my questions with my D300s!! im gonna start watchin the 2nd part!! WOW!!
