  • It is the Rachel out of Moss Point MS. This was varified via the actual drawing. All measurements matched the drwawing. The wooden plugs were mistaken as wood pegs. It was constructed in 1919 and wrecked in 1923. It was a lumber schooner. Ref. New paper artical in 1923 that documented the grounding during a storm. More info can be found by searching DeAngelo and Rachel.

  • It was about about 7 miles from the point at fort morgan goin back down the beach towars gulf shores.

  • Thank You! As my son & daughter in law live in Galveston, I have family in and around the Gulf Shores area. Basically Thank You ! I find this so interesting, cannot get over the fact that ppl have been fishing, shrimping, oystering and just enjoying the water in that area and not even knowing what was there! I am just in AWE!
