Mac can do the same things. There are just less programs that do the exact same thing. You're just not looking in the right places for them... because you have no reason to look. I know someone who finds Linux as the easiest os to use. And PC costs start to add up. I had 2 HP's, one laptop bought 2 years ago, and one desktop with XP on it.
Both computers have went to shit. My laptop, only 2 years old, the motherboard completely FRIED out. The part is over $500 to fix. Thats without a tech doing the replacement. The desktop computer had the cpu fans go out, the motherboard fried, and CD/DVD-Rom completely stopped working.

Windows is a great OS! We have all the software and don't have to worry about incompatibility with our software. Of course vista had that problem but a much stabler windows (which is XP) will give you no worries. Mac users are mostly people who don't know how to take care of their computers. Also, if someone goes on and says I am a microsoft fanboy... well you are wrong. I use Linux distros, and BSD..

Ad says that Microsoft is for everyday folk. That's why Bill Gates and Seinfeld appear in everyday situations with everyday people. It even plays on pc vs mac ads. The Mac guy looks hip and modern but its the chubby, funny looking pc who's adorable and people root for cos they can relate. Gates looks just like pc which is perfect! Mac's good for making a pretty picture, stylish (and for snobs who believe in a mac community) but windows is for real, practical folks who want to get real work done!

You are probably some mac user who has never even had a windows except for a couple months... Vista isn't the most computer-friendly OS. Meaning, if you have a good computer, like i do, and it runs it well, than vista is much better than XP. everything is well-placed at convienience but it just takes a good comp to run it.

my $500 (including upgrades) pc with nothing but a new graphics card and power supply has almost as much cpu as the best off the shelf mac has of cpu and ram combined, and god only knows how much more ram. oh, and by the way, the best off the shelf mac costs $4500

I have nothing against Mac computers except their price. Mac's are not enough bang for the buck in my opinion. Apple doesn't really give that much of a selection. If you want a laptop I think Apple is the way to go, but a desktop you have two options. iMac or MacPro, iMac which is overpriced for what hardware you get and MacPro which is just way to much for the normal person. If Apple decided to open their OS to let PC users in Vista would be in trouble but so would Apples Mac sales.

Actually Im a digital artist and work with high end "graphics" and video. Yes, Mac's have photoshop, wonderful. Any professional level 3d packages ive ATTEMPTED to use on a mac were nothing but trash compared to their PC counter part. When software companies make these programs... they make them on PCs for PCs... only later do they port it to Mac. Other than obscure apple programs, PCs have the upper hand on everything. Good point! Based on my experience on Pc's Vs Mac I choose to design my HD video projects on mac. I find them to work more seemlesly with less errors then When I decided to design on Pc. here in the uk a chocolate company called cadbury ran an advert with a gorilla drumming to phil collins (yes, its on youtube). Didn't feature any product at all, but it was an effective advert because it got people talking about them.

Apple software crashes too, my iMovie crashes a dozen times before I finish editing a video clip about 5 minutes long. Their system is quite stable in general but not as fast as windows.

Mac can do the same things. There are just less programs that do the exact same thing. You're just not looking in the right places for them... because you have no reason to look. I know someone who finds Linux as the easiest os to use. And PC costs start to add up. I can download whatever I want and not worry about a virus, while Windows users can possibly download a virus that requires payment to get rid of it.

I had 2 HP's, one laptop bought 2 years ago, and one desktop with XP on it.
Both computers have went to shit. My laptop, only 2 years old, the motherboard completely FRIED out. The part is over $500 to fix. Thats without a tech doing the replacement. The desktop computer had the cpu fans go out, the motherboard fried, and CD/DVD-Rom completely stopped working.
now don't call me ignorant. I know my shit when it comes to computers and OS's. PC's are complete shit.

If you know so much about it, i guess you would have been able to buy it piece-by-piece, as its safier and cheaper, now, your problem is with HP, microsoft has nothing to do with it. Also saying that "microsoft produces such shitty computers" just proves how you don't know a shit about it. Putting a pc in a ventilated place and trying not to hit it are som of the ways to not "destroy" them, unless those HP pcs were shitty-made. BTW if a mobo fries out ull prolly have to replace it anyway.

Windows is a great OS! We have all the software and don't have to worry about incompatibility with our software. Of course vista had that problem but a much stabler windows (which is XP) will give you no worries. Mac users are mostly people who don't know how to take care of their computers. Also, if someone goes on and says I am a microsoft fanboy... well you are wrong. I use Linux distros, and BSD..

Ad says that Microsoft is for everyday folk. That's why Bill Gates and Seinfeld appear in everyday situations with everyday people. It even plays on pc vs mac ads. The Mac guy looks hip and modern but its the chubby, funny looking pc who's adorable and people root for cos they can relate. Gates looks just like pc which is perfect! Mac's good for making a pretty picture, stylish (and for snobs who believe in a mac community) but windows is for real, practical folks who want to get real work done!

I mean, MS's reputation is on the line here. If Windows 7 flops, then no one in their right mind will trust Windows 8 to be any better. They might be able to catch people on with Midori if it turns out to be any good, but Windows needs to be trashed and they should just focus on Midori.
Midori, btw, is a new OS developed from scratch by MS that will succeed Windows. I'm looking forward to it.

Mac users tend to generalize windows and do it mindlessly, most of them couldn't even tell me what disk-defgramenter or firewall is, and thats fundemental stuff.
You are probably some mac user who has never even had a windows except for a couple months... Vista isn't the most computer-friendly OS. Meaning, if you have a good computer, like i do, and it runs it well, than vista is much better than XP. everything is well-placed at convienience but it just takes a good comp to run it.

I don't mean to be rude BUT you ask everyone to pause your video, THEN you give instructions on what to do after the video is paused. Hello?! If the video is paused, they won't hear your instructions. You ask everyone to click a link, which is misleading because it's just an unrelated advertising link. A cheap way to get hits to that link. The rest of your analysis sucks. The commercials are funny and give some "heart" to an otherwise unemotional tech nerd likes Gates (and Microsoft in general).

I have nothing against Mac computers except their price. Mac's are not enough bang for the buck in my opinion. Apple doesn't really give that much of a selection. If you want a laptop I think Apple is the way to go, but a desktop you have two options. iMac or MacPro, iMac which is overpriced for what hardware you get and MacPro which is just way to much for the normal person. If Apple decided to open their OS to let PC users in Vista would be in trouble but so would Apples Mac sales.

Macs are great computers for basic users. My grandmother finds it much easier to look at pictures of cats on her Mac. I hear macs are capable of coming in different colours... so you can accessorize your ability to look at pictures of cats and post lame youtube comments. Actually Im a digital artist and work with high end "graphics" and video. Yes, Mac's have photoshop, wonderful. Any professional level 3d packages ive ATTEMPTED to use on a mac were nothing but trash compared to their PC counter part. When software companies make these programs... they make them on PCs for PCs... only later do they port it to Mac. Other than obscure apple programs, PCs have the upper hand on everything. Macs are nothing more then trendy fashion statement

Good point! Based on my experience on Pc's Vs Mac I choose to design my HD video projects on mac. I find them to work more seemlesly with less errors then When I decided to design on Pc. I guess It's a matter of personal preference. I am never going back to pc based on my PERSONAL user experience, because I have a bad taste in my mouth from them.

who cares ? Its a good advert. I can tell you why its not specifically selling you a product: 1) that would be very poor, 2) no one is going to run to the stores to buy a new OS no matter what they do, the majority of OS sales will be preinstalled on PCs anyway.
here in the uk a chocolate company called cadbury ran an advert with a gorilla drumming to phil collins (yes, its on youtube). Didn't feature any product at all, but it was an effective advert because it got people talking about them.

Apple software crashes too, my iMovie crashes a dozen times before I finish editing a video clip about 5 minutes long. Their system is quite stable in general but not as fast as windows.
