  • No chef I am not satisfied when your video comes to cake. I've seen so many reciepes & they came out wonderful!!!!! n yummy!! You need to maintain that here too...pls tell us the timings after which we need to add these things one by one.I joined the baking classes & my teacher told me that timing and the hand movement or your machine speed matters a lot..While adding soda we can't whisk hard the cake will burst, even the egg yolk is added later not with the egg white..Can you pls explain.

  • I love fruitcake. It is the spirit of Christmas in the fruitcake that I enjoy.

  • Basic fruit cake still has to be matured. All purpose flour should be used and certainly no baking powder! The cake does not require an rising agent apart from eggs as it should not have a sponge texture. It should be dark, packed with fruit, dense and after maturing for three months, it should be moist. Christmas cake can be baked and stored for a whole year. I bake my cake on christmas eve for the following year! Now that is christmas cake! Sorry NOT AUTHENTIC, needs to try harder.

  • This is not a christmas cake, it is light fruit cake served at tea time. Christmas cake takes a long time to bake and is matured for at least three months for all the flavours of the fruit and alcohol to combine. Sanjay stick to the cuisine you know best or learn how to make this cake in the traditional way. I am an expert fruit cake baker and felt that you've let down bakers every where by not researching how a christmas cake should be baked. Take this opportunity to bake it properly!

  • Measure by weight 300 grams each of butter, sugar, eggs, flour, and dried fruits and nuts. Add 1 tsp of baking soda, and add some spices (cinnamon, ground cloves, cordamom). It doesn't tell you the exact measurement for spices... I would advise 1 tsp. 1/2 cup of rum. follow the directions as given on the video and remember to cut the oven off and leave it open for approximately 10 minutes when your cake is done. Good luck and have a Mery Christmas.

  • @manpreetsingh9243 Yes sometimes orange juice and lemon juice is added to cakes but I don't know how orange juice can be added to fruitcake....I wouldn't use lemon. Try google...or just try orange juice in aconcentrated form with fruit cake....something like maybe 1/4 cup. If you are going to do that....don't use the green cherries and try adding some dried pinnapple...no dates either.....
