  • fuckin amazing show man. i was 12 when i saw this and even then i knew it was amazing.

  • Anyone else notice all the Illuminati symbolism in this performance?

  • @killer600000 no now shut your fucking mouth

  • I like how Bono is like "I don't care if I get mauled to death by crazed fans, I'm walking through this because I'm Bono of U2!"

  • @CBright7831 I LOVE his smirk at 0:35. It's sooo cute too!

  • goosebumps

  • Looks like a great show. Too bad Bono's voice sucks.

  • @frankluko Bono's voice sucks?

  • @warriorfight111 Judging from a traditional music viewpoint his voice does suck. He just more than makes up for it with spirit, energy, the quality of the songs and a hundred other things.

  • @frankluko You suck!

  • The best halftime show ever from the greatest band ever!

  • I agree, the best halftime show EVER!!!

  • The best halftime show ever, legends

  • SB XXXVI, great game, great halftime show, great teams, great upset, Twin Towers (is it called like this?).. BEST SB EVER!

  • fabulous video, I really love your channel too

  • I think U2 and Bruce were the best halftime shows to date..Don't want to say one was better than the other. 1a-1b

  • @gfraz23 what about The Who, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, and Tom Petty

  • @iamobeliskquake And Michael Jackson :)

  • @joelbroncos im hoping that we get AC/DC, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, John Fogerty, and David Bowie (I wanted a Phil Collins performance but he retired)

  • @iamobeliskquake AC/DC would be awesome!

  • @joelbroncos that would be....so fucking.yes

  • @Simon4642 Imagine some LED ZEPPELIN! or KISS again!!!!! My fav. band is The Who, but I luv Kiss too, (Sorry of my bad english)

  • U2 was great but SIR Paul McCartney was better

  • Bruuuuce was a tad better!!

  • @greg4161, watch the second part and you will change your mind

  • on behalf of every loyal rock listener ... i apologize to u2 , rolling stones and the who for those SOBs called BEP who ruined our super bowl this year

  • what a band, what a song and waht a crowd. love itx

  • this is definately the best halftime show

  • bono sucks the biddy.

  • @Manzona1390 He sucks biddies? Where I come from, that'd make him strsight and the man. So I hope you're not trying to insult him.

  • @yankees1234577 it's a South Park joke. there is an episode where they make fun of him.

  • @Manzona1390 SAY I'M NOT NUMBER 2!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i hate U2 but this was a great halftime show, probably the best super bowl halftime show

  • 2002. They followed this song up with Where The Streets Have No Name while all the 9/11 victims names were scrolling up a screen behind them.

  • what superbowl was this what year

  • @Nindoug 2002-the one right after 9-11....

  • @Nindoug 2002

  • ozzy & u2 & mj best half time show! legends

  • july 17 2011.my life long dream of seein U2 live will happen

  • @hooah9422 mine is on the 22nd

  • @pabruins2013 I know for sure that you are going to LOVE it I saw them twice

  • pearl jam for 2012 super bowl!!!

  • I think the audience rather of had U2 stay out there and keep playing rather than watching the rest of the game

    Thumbs up if you agree

  • I always find it interesting that Janet Jackson was originally slated to be the halftime performer. No way would they have come close to this.

  • Absolutely no better superbowl musical act better than this...Whitney Houston was close, but this U2 performance is what any band or singer lucky enough to snag the Superbowl Halftime Show strives for. Total musical and emotional perfection.

  • @cukeltuboff People are dying everywhere but if we work together, WE can stop it. Historically, I presume either Dr. King's march on Washington, or the bombing of Ireland. Bono, get off the soapbox! Other people need soap too!

  • The Who, U2: Anyone who knows any music history knows that U2 idolized The Who. They are cut from the same musical cloth. But their music is different. Of all of the SB half-time shows, these two were the best. But for 60+ year old geezers, The Who still rocks as one of the Greatest bands of all time. They sounded fantastic last January. And no one played as loud as they did in their hey day. U2 will also go down as one of the greatest bands of all time. But a little respect for the past

  • @BritHistProf While the Who put on a good performance, I don't think it was as good as it should've been. Either way, in my opinion the 2 best half-time shows have been Paul McCartney and U2. After those 2 my order would be Prince, Tom Petty, Rolling Stones, The Who and then Springsteen. Either way, all are great, and it saddens me that this year's performance will be the BEP. It's not that I dislike their music, it's just that they don't deserve it.

  • Etwas zu viele Jubel Perser ;-) aber sonst klasse

  • I hope they play the Super Bowl again!

  • coldplay sound a lot like U2

  • @girltant Yeah, but U2 is 20 times better.

  • @MrJoemc1234 o 50 times better bro. no comparison

  • @girltant Just that U2 is so much better =)

  • the people "who" compare u2 with another band.. are a fuckink crazy people!!

  • u2 shits all over every one except mj

  • @kissfan2691 FK YEH!

  • OUTSTAVDING

  • Nah, ZZ Top or Tom Petty could kick their ass. So could the Who. And Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. Still, U2 is a good third fallback.

  • @RobertELee01 that's why zztop and tom petty sold more albums? or combining them u2 sold 10 times more?

  • U2 Best Band In The world... :D

  • I prefered springsteen to this but then again I prefer springsteen to U2

  • i say this halftime show is tied wit the Aerosmith/NSYNC/ Mary J blidge, nelly, britney spears super bowl back in 2004. U2 halftime was good. but its tied if not a little below the Aerosmith superbowl halftime show

  • @Darkfalla You have to realize the weight that this carried though! I am a huge Aerosmith fan, but come on! This came after 9/11. It makes you want to cry. The emotion involved is unbearable even today.

  • @Darkfalla You realize Britney Spears and NSYNC played with Aerosmith, you fucking tool?

  • Québec aime U2

  • i would have to say that this halftime show beats out springsteen. not by much but defenitly better

  • Canada loves U2!

  • Im irish and most irish people hate U2 because they are great.. irish people hate success and thats why we are so fucked as a country,

  • @corku2 You speak for yourself and not the nation of Ireland. What a presumptuous fuck you are.

  • @eezysqueezy Right on man.

  • @eezysqueezy since when does someone speak for someone else you dick head. Im on about a nation of people who hate Irish people been successful you think arrogant spastic. Notice I said most Irish people Not all the people under the nation of Ireland. Im Proud to be Irish I guess you are the presumptuous Fucker.

  • @corku2 You said "most Irish people hate U2"....you are not in any position to speak for anyone other than yourself. This would be because you are not a mind-reader but a moron who cannot read properly.

Your opinion is your own - so please leave it that way instead of trying to rope the entire island of Ireland into your stupidity.

  • Love em' all, but McCartney was my favorite halftime show. Live and Let Die...You just can't beat that!

  • This performance is & wil be remembered as the greatest Super Bowl half time show of all time. U2 with Janet Jackson next time around lol !

  • Surreal

  • This song is just incredible live. I really actually don't like the clean, recorded version of it. There's just something about the "soul" that is has live.

  • BUENAZOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Wow. Amazing performance. Perfect for the venue.

  • I am irish and live in dublin finglas, and let me tell anyone thats unsure.......U2 have turned into a shit band, from the band that us dubliners grew up listening to when u2 used to make real music, actung baby and backwards to there first album....they don't even realise themselves that they have turned into shitheads.....they are not a patch on the likes of bruce springsteen live wise or album wise

  • @008maguire GOBSHITE

  • @008maguire typical irish guy fucking his own... gowl

  • What is the name of U2's drummer? cuz he's badass!

  • @hotbhive3 Larry Mullen Jnr

  • Great song & one of the best of all time. Long live real music!!

  • it wuz only fittin that the patriots won

  • @rockstorm96 Actally the pats didn't make the playoffs.

  • This is certainly the best halftime show I've ever seen. It's the only one that showcased a band at the height of their powers without any bullsh!t or half-assed star-studded hypefests leading to "wardrobe malfunctions" (which I missed because I was doing other things, bored by MTV's pompous bullshit).

  • Just curious...is the stage in the shape of a heart or a guitar pick? Hard to tell!

  • @javajen19 a HEART

  • Comment removed

  • I agree, best SuperBowl half time ever!!!!

  • Put some SOUL....., put some SOUL in the World!

  • Noooo! Bruce is better!

  • GREAT ENTRANCE!

  • only sportive event where the halftime is better than the actual sport

  • It`s a amazing show!!!I don`t have seen bevor so a good tribute for 9/11!!Greetings from vienna

  • this guy's got the most amazing voice in history....

  • if it was like 40 years ago like the 1st superbowl than the who coulda kicked ass but no moon no entwhistle no who, but i liked princes also

  • Dublin Ireland News . com

  • this performance was healing...

  • if you want the who,go now,listen the who,leave us alone! U2 4ever

  • best half time show i have ever seen, amazing

  • @romans11israel the who performed in 2010 and U2 in 2002 U2 would blow them away with something state of the art right now!

  • PROUD TO BE IRISH

  • The who don't come close to U2......

  • @ramyon74 eh......

  • @ramyon74

No... the Who came before U2... if memory serves me correct. Still, Proud to be Irish.

  • @ramyon74 pretty much no one comes close to U2

  • @ramyon74 This and thw Who were the 2 greatest super bowl halftime performances ever

  • @ramyon74 Do you think any of the guys in U2 would say what you just said ? I'm guessing not... Who are you to say crap like that ? Don't say Elvus either, cuz he filled me up last Tuesday and said he's for sure, retired.

  • @ramyon74 They did when they were younger. Now they're old. And their original drummer is dead...

  • @ramyon74 I'm sorry to tell you this but if you are comparing the who to U2 based on halftime show yeah U2 wins because half of the who was dead the other half old, but The who has way more hits and are just all around better have you seen keith moon drum ever he is a god, yes U2 is very good but the who is better.

  • @Classicrockismylife9

My comparison was not based on the half time show.....but based on album, sales originality and their impact on world music over the past three decades...Rollingstone tends to agree with my opinion too, U2 in 22nd place verse The Who back in 29th place On their 100 Greatest Artists list. But hey we all have our favourites....

  • @ramyon74 The Who is quite possibly the greatest Rock group of all time. Back when they were all alive they would have kicked Bono and the rest of U2 to the ground. they are just an all around better band. They were rock and roll pioneers. You are an Ignoramus.

  • @monkoman100 Ignoramus? hardly, just not a Who fan.... and every one knows that the Stones are the greatest rock band of all time....

  • @ramyon74 Hey buddy look at the difference of the ages ! ; /

  • Comment removed

  • @ramyon74 @ramyon74 Well, the Who are very old at this point and are missing 2 of their original members. U2 was still in its prime time at that point in time. U2 was still great though, love them.

  • Spectacle doesn't replace Soul.

However, I liked The Who too.

  • @ElTuco8

    "Spectacle doesn't replace Soul."

good point, yet another reason why u2 is better than the who lol...

  • @drmnewton1 That's exactly what makes ZZ Top better than U2. When you take away all the effects pedals and flashy lights, U2 hasn't really got anything. You can really narrow down pretty much every song to about 10 at the most. They all mean the same thing.

  • @RobertELee01 And what exactly do they all mean? Do you know what ''Sunday Bloody Sunday'' is even about, the historical element?

  • @RobertELee01

    ZZ TOP??? LMFAO

dude, i hope you take your meds..... LOL

  • @drmnewton1 ZZ Top has already played

  • put some soul in the world, such a perfect words for that moment

  • DICK, your well named! PERIOD. The who were ok, Just think when this was? 2002 ( just after a certain thing happened)I flewto USA 2 weeks after that awful day, where was Tom Petty and the rest of the USA bands, NOWHERE to be seen! or the USA public to be truthfull! U2 done the job Brilliantly , I rest my fooking case, FREEEDOM.

  • I grew up in the 60's when rock was growing up too. So bands like the Who appeal to me more than U2. But I worked with U2 on Zooropa and I have to admit I loved their concerts on that tour, every night of it. So I saw 43 U2 concerts in a row!! Wish I had got to tour with The Who.....

  • @woodyfurball Ok--but that was 9 years ago. U2 is older NOW too. If you want to compare them at about the same time, in the same "honoring 9/11" context--please search: "The Who NYC" and see 4 songs where they B-a-l-e-w the roof off the joint --and every band off the stage that played that night. Still, I am a U2 fan, but it was Bono who inducted the Who into RR HOF (Funny speech--worth a look). He knows who buttered his bread.

  • One thing The Who had that U2 don't is The Who had a great mad wildness that U2 don't have. U2 are too controlled in their music. The Who were wild!!! That's REAL Rock N Roll.

  • @dickdona I think the Who's show was only ok too, I would rather listen to a cd or a music video of The Who. The lights were amazing though, U2 you can see more passion rather than recklesness

  • @dickdona ... two completely different styles, but both equally as good, IMHO.

  • I like U2! But to me the Tom Petty & THB halftime show was the best. & The Who was the 2nd. But AGAIN, I have got NOTHING against U2 they're BRILLIANT!

  • @PepperDr94

i actually found the who to be dissapointing, just my opinion though, 20 years ago it would have been amazing but i just wasnt feelin it

  • they were so good, they make it look too easy, like another day in the office.

  • ♫♪in reverence♫♪ the rare u2 album trumps are now on ebay.....enjoy♫♪

  • After 911, have to have "Beautiful Day" to cheer peope up. U2 excellent!

  • @The90210Lady

no after 911 you have 912

  • you REALLY cant work it out?

  • Beautiful Day

  • The best there is. I hope U2 will be given a chance to play at Superbowl again.

  • Its like a concert,brilliant.

  • Do they put the stage/people on the field just in the halftime?? :S

  • Yeah...everything is put together and taken down in a matter of minutes.

  • This must have been so epic for U2 all you can hear is the crowd.

  • I will add that the 9/11 tribute was a thing of beauty!!! And something that only a band like U2 could have done in such a classy manner!

  • I think The Who is just as good eh.

  • I think "THE WHO" were better. But NOW they are "just as good."

  • disagree...... although The Who was very good. If The Who sang in superbowl 36 and U2 sang yesterday in superbowl 43 you would like U2 more.

  • wrong person

  • Comment removed

  • this was way better than this year's halftime show.

they need to get u2 to perform again!

make the superbowl halftime show worth watching again.

  • infowars sparks web shut down.

alex jones still online @ youtube

  • i wish oasis could play in a superbowl

  • @raulishoogallagher that would be awesome.

  • Agreed.

  • The Irish lads did it best

  • 1:20 -- they're reaching for his crotch!

  • The Who's was good but nowhere near as good as this one. Best halftime show ever.

  • @southparkfan2717

they had a good light show.

besides that, they were alright, but nothing outstanding. it looked like they've seen better days...

  • U2 are SIMPLY EPIC!!! their just TOO AWESOME!!!

    U2 ALWAYS & FOREVER!!!

  • Thanks so much for sharing, this is the first time I've ever seen this performance! Didn't have my own computer back in 2002 let alone internet access!? Thank God for YouTube!!

  • Definately a beautiful day, this super bowl day! :D Thanks U2.

  • best halftime show one of the best song and best band EVER

  • proud 2 be irish

  • best half time show ever.

    U2 forever

  • U2's songs make me sad, but yet I love them!

  • U2 is with no doubt the most emotional band Besides the beatles (which of course are on top of almost everybody) They truly give their hearts out when they perform. I was at the rose bowl and in tampa this year. GOD gave me the blessing of seeing them live.

  • Amen to that. God gave me the blessing of seeing them at the rose bowl 2. There's one thing I disagree with u on. The beatles aren't the greatest. They were but U2 have taken that spot. Beatles only gave us music for 10 years and broke up. U2 have changed lives for over 30 years and U2 have better songs and they have the Edge and Bono which are the greatest musicians of all time. U2 have surpassed the beatles ever since the opening notes of out of control.

  • sorry mate your out on your own there seeing as it was voted the best half-time show in history....so go back to plotting your chickens you deformed mongoloid retard....

  • ...this was declared best half time show in superbowl history and U2 is the most popular and liked band in the world right now. go plot ur retarded chickens bro
