@ObitoDuelin It's the thrill of the hunt. To recover an item from the ground and realize the last person to touch it was 2000 years ago. The history, how was it lost , who lost it, what must there life have been like. You have to have the bug or it's hard to understand the draw. It is a relaxing hobby and I enjoy history.
All finds from our trip must have an export license. the process takes a couple months. everything is identified and recorded. the finds are then either shipped or we pick them up on our next hunt.
ive been metal detecting in england for between 1 and 2 years and ive had 1 hammerd an elizabeth the 1st all the others are george 5th pennies an edward 7th penny and victoria penny
That was a cool film its great to be out finding gold & silver coins love it, our fields in the Uk have coins every where in them with the odd gold one I know I have found celtic gold the feeling is out of this world :o) I have Minelab XS I I
Sorry for the late reply. All finds must get export licenses. The museum can only buy an item if it falls into the treasure or hoard catigory. Treasure is any non coin item over 300 years old that has more than 10% gold or silver. Hoard is 2 or more gold or silver coins of the same type found on the same field. If the museum want to accquire the item it is evaluated by a committee and the finder and land owner split the payment.
@kkidd123 I averaged between 200 and 300 targets per day. Most are flat buttons, mini balls, scrap lead, greenies (copper pennies 1650 to present) or little pieces of crap metal. With 7 hunters going for 10 hours a day you can cover a lot of ground in 3 weeks. Plus the land has been populated for 3,000 years.
This is fake! Too many reasons so. If they pull out a alien artefact I would applaud.
