Very hard to explain what driving on British roads can be like; narrow, greasy and windy. American cars are made for wide avenues and straight lines, which we don't have much of over here.
Basically you don't need 750 odd BHP in a car as wide as a house on British roads, which is why hot hatches and small Japanese sports cars are so popular here.

In the UK, where I'm guessing you're from, the Mustang would be an absolute monstrosity, but in NAmerica, it works fairly well for our straight roads. And yes I'd rather have the Mustang than the 1M. For the price of the 1M I'd get the most mint M3 CSL i could find instead. Another thing that pi55es me off re: 1M is not just the non-bespoke engine, but the SOUND. ALL M cars since the M1, til even the new M5 have had great sounding engines, but the 1M just...doesn't

I am the proud owner of a 2012 gt500 ( not super snake) and at 550 hp it makes me laugh out loud when I'm going through the gears. Europeans just don't get American muscle cars, if they did they would build their own instead of importing ours.

The Shelby GT 500 Super Snake in not over power, because when you buy the super snake upgrade you are paying for the horsepower. This all adds up to the fact that its not a European sports car and should not be treated as such, why because it puts them all to SHAME!!!!!!
The Super Snake is a BADASS car! Live rear axle or not. You can find video after video of it handling every bit as well on the road course as the BMW M3 and its rivals the Camaro and the Challenger. It may have a prehistoric live rear end...but its engineered MASTERFULLY.
I have to agree and say this car is overpowered. Now dont get me wrong, Mustang's are a very capable car as I currently own a '11 gt500. But even on dry surfaces i find it hard on that car to find grip (even with the specially made tires). Super snakes are meant to be grand tourers anyways... i dont think ive ever heard anyone taking to a track for hot laps. Its a collectors car.

Its like putting a truck engine into a toyota, just to much power, u will have very little control. I hope with the 2010 shelby, they decided to modernize the suspension instead of that old one.

@ahpadt well considering he was driving on a wet road and was trying to put it to the floor to show that its "overpowered" shows he biased right off the bat, and grip doesn't have anything to do with the chassis it has to do with the tires/pressure, suspension setup, and drivetrain.

@ahpadt A lot of the automotive technology that you would think is new was actually invented back then. All we did nowadays was make the core technology better (and cheaper). Just because the mustang uses a live rear axle, doesn't mean that it has 1930's handling XD. A lot of the non-biased (aka non-british) reviews that I've watched/read said that they barely even noticed the live rear axle.

The Shelby shouldn't be compared to either, because it's in a different price range, and it's an aftermarket altered car, by Shelby. The SS and SRT8 are made to compete with the GT, not the GT500.
Well yeah its a diffrent price range but the regular gt 500 is at 50,000 and the srt challenger is around that price i think 45,000 and its still quicker but ford is slacking on the gt mustang they should have been 5.0's 6 speed with 3.73 gears from 2005 to the date i will admit the mustang right now does not stand a chance vs ss camaro and the challenger r/t or stock vs stock
Stock for stock, I'd actually go with the Mustang over the Challenger R/T. Just not the SRT8. The 3v's have proven themselves to be mid-13 second contendors over the past few years. And I completely agree that they should've been 5.0 6speeds. But, that's the way Ford's been doing it, since the 4th Gen Fbodies were produced, by GM. It's always seemed like they were just one step behind performance-wise.

As much as love mustangs he is right, ford always angered me when they designed these powerful cars with these fucked up suspension. Its like putting a truck engine into a toyota, just to much power, u will have very little control. I hope with the 2010 shelby, they decided to modernize the suspension instead of that old one.

Power is fine as long as you can put it down on to the road especially in the corners and as beautiful as this car is , it cant. All the reviews Ive seen on it say the same thing. This guy is right. A beauty though.

@ahpadt well considering he was driving on a wet road and was trying to put it to the floor to show that its "overpowered" shows he biased right off the bat, and grip doesn't have anything to do with the chassis it has to do with the tires/pressure, suspension setup, and drivetrain.

@ahpadt A lot of the automotive technology that you would think is new was actually invented back then. All we did nowadays was make the core technology better (and cheaper). Just because the mustang uses a live rear axle, doesn't mean that it has 1930's handling XD. A lot of the non-biased (aka non-british) reviews that I've watched/read said that they barely even noticed the live rear axle.

The Shelby shouldn't be compared to either, because it's in a different price range, and it's an aftermarket altered car, by Shelby. The SS and SRT8 are made to compete with the GT, not the GT500.

Well yeah its a diffrent price range but the regular gt 500 is at 50,000 and the srt challenger is around that price i think 45,000 and its still quicker but ford is slacking on the gt mustang they should have been 5.0's 6 speed with 3.73 gears from 2005 to the date i will admit the mustang right now does not stand a chance vs ss camaro and the challenger r/t or stock vs stock

Stock for stock, I'd actually go with the Mustang over the Challenger R/T. Just not the SRT8. The 3v's have proven themselves to be mid-13 second contendors over the past few years. And I completely agree that they should've been 5.0 6speeds. But, that's the way Ford's been doing it, since the 4th Gen Fbodies were produced, by GM. It's always seemed like they were just one step behind performance-wise.

Corvette GrandSport is 56K instead of 70K for the Shelby and every Corvette in 2010 (GrandSport, Z06, and ZR1) outperform the Shelby SuperSnake in every category. @thc3636 dont change the subject, you were saying that the 5.0 litre engine in the 2011 mustang is SHITTY and that the the LS series of engines from gm are better, well youre WRONG. the 5.0 destroys those engines and gets way better gas milage. ok now on to the shelby, it doesnt NOT have the 5.0, it has the 5.4 litre supercharged motor. it starts at 46,000 and not 70. you cant compare a corvette to a big muscle car like the mustang, people dont just buy cars because of performance.
