Sorry friends but with love I don't get what the problem is with this video.. he clearly outlines Grace and speaks about an amazing testimony which outlines and reinforces God's grace. God acted, not something a sinful man did but God. That is grace. The Old Testament is all about this. Mans repeated failings yet God is faithful and through his grace continues to be faithful. Just because a video has 30,000 views doesn't make someone a false prophet
How easily can you all give your opinions about other people. Don't you look into your on closet first? Do you truly know how much and how deeply those men are to God. So easily. Oh so easily to we make those comments, without ANY knowledge.
This is theater. This isn't a sermon. Its a performance art. No wonder the whole SGM debacle is happening. People like this should not be given power. Religions like SGM are the ultimate scam.
@SamWiseGingy well, except for the purpose of the christian faith is NOT to escape hell, but to glorify God. if you want to say that God doesn't exist, thats one thing, but the reality of hell is just another example of God's unbelievable grace to us when He saves us from it. as CS lewis would say "it is not the central thing."
@SamWiseGingy you operate your first and main point under the assumption that the purpose of christianity is to escape hell. thats an error in YOUR reasoning. i have reasons for what I believe, and i don't expect you to agree with them, but i'm also allowed to point out when you're wrong (or when you have misconceptions about something you're arguing against)
@SamWiseGingy Ok, now are you talking about "conversion" or Christian faith? Conversion to Christianity is not Christianity just as the drive to school is not school.
Unless CJ has renounced his faith he certainly believes/believed in making converts/disciples. I heard several of his sermons in my youth. CJ certainly believed in hell then and I fairly certain he believes in hell now.
So even if hell is not "central" to the Christian faith it never the less is essential to the Christian faith.
Just listened to some stuff from this guy (another video) - He is a very sick puppy. How do we as a society allow people with these views to continue through life so mis-guided?? How?
I discovered C.J Mahaney video's only recently & love every one of his teachings, Praise The Lord for men who know & preach the truth !!! Thank you with all my heart.
Interesting paradigm. You were supposedly born into sin through no choice of your own. So why would you think you richly deserve to spend eternity in hell? You didn't ask to be a sinner, did you? Maybe your relationship with God doesn't really have anything to do with your "sin", and God's "righteous wrath". If God is mad at you, just what did Jesus take care of on the cross? Didn't he take all of God's "righteous wrath" upon himself on your behalf? If so, what are you worried about?
"I was reformed in my experience, in my understanding of sorteriology, before I was informed theologically."
I like this statement. I believe this is true of all real Christians, whether there is, in this lifetime, an espousal of the precious Doctrines of Grace or not.
Turn on the news or open a newspaper and you'll find that not all is well with humanity. It seems that the human species is hell-bent on destroying itself and the environment which sustains us. For those who question why this is, the bible explains first that it wasn't allways this way, secondly something really bad happened which changed it and thirdly that God wants to restore humanity and creation to its perfect state. This is the Big Picture for Big Picture kinds of people.
God's Grace is ALWAYS what initiates salvation--that's why we Catholics believe in infant baptism. However, once God's initial offer is made, we still have free will to choose or refuse. Likewise, because God wants all people to be saved, all who have not yet had the new birth of baptism have the opportunity to be saved as well.
God is in control. We baptize infants at His command. As for those who come to Baptism later in life, they make the conscious choice to submit to His regeneration which empowers us to serve Him in faith. Still, what they are submitting to is God's rule in their lives.
When we becomes saved or call his name is when he writes his laws in our heart.Not all man have it,only those who are saved.But those who never heard of the law or Jesus,will be judged according to their conscience.
Sorry,I was talking about justification,we are justified through Christ,but not all are justified.And yes they do have the law written in their hearts,and will be judged according to their conscience.
Enoch was in such close relationship with God, that includes removal of sin in his life, that God took him. It's about having a real relationship with God.

Hell = Terror
Take away hell and you have nothing left of your faith and no reason to believe.
Your faith is really fear and despair.
You have no evidence or reason.

You have no evidence of hell, yet you speak of the "reality of hell."
There is evidence for real things. There is not evidence for things things that are not real.
Please tell me how it is reasonable to be in the "reality of hell?"
SamWiseGingy 10 months ago
@Cliffordgf
Pretend all you want that people would "convert" to Christianity without the fear of hell, but you know better.

@SamWiseGingy However, it WAS central to YOUR comment. In fact it was the only point you made. Hence this conversation.

Rather hell is central or peripheral it is an essential part of the Christian message, at least it was to the CJ I listened to in my youth.

Regeneration comes first. That's what Baptism is all about, and that's why we baptize infants.

Read Paul's argument more closely. We all have the law written on our hearts already. According to Romans all men are guilty before God.

No sir. Romans 2:14&15 say that gentiles without the law have the law written on their hearts. Paul is talking about pagans there, not Christians.
