I think this video was nice but still it doesn't do Istanbul justice I believe because there are sooo many things to see there and this is like only a very very small part of them.
Personally I didn't vote for Erdoğan. I voted for CHP, the major opposition party which is secular and democratic. I didn't claim that the people of Turkey are secular, or something. The goverment and laws are still secular. Turkey is really democratic among the Middle Eastern countries. I don't like Erdoğan, he has a religious backgroud but even he has to obey the secular laws of the country to rule. %50 of the people voted for him and %50 other ones didn't.
I don't find a city full of turkish facists, nationalists very attractive. Or their mosques, where ones their sultans prayed saying make the armenians go to hell, killing over 1 million armenians. Or a city full of only turkish flags everywhere i don't find that very friendly.

March is still rainy and a little bit cold.(It even snowed in 7th March this year.). In Late May sunlight is vertical and irritating. You are right! April is the best choice If you want to come in spring. Weather is mild and it may some rain but not irritating.

I have been telling many of my friends the same thing for years but it registers more clearly when it comes directly from a Turk. @fordummies100 You should not be in Istanbul in summer months because it so hot and extraordinary humid because of its proximity to the sea. Today was 33 degrees celcius but with % 65 humidity, it felt like 36 degrees celcius. Early september is still hot but acceptable. But if you hate hot weather, you had better be in İstanbul in october and maybe early November. Late november and december is very rainy and a little bit cold. The best choice is october.

Whoever produced this video did a lazy job. They just showed the usual suspects and used footage from another professional video. The host of the video was just rattling off names and places and did not give a shit for what she was saying Istanbul is an incredible city with so much to offer and this video did nothing to showcase the splendour of the city. Very poor effort.

As a Turk i go to Marmaris every year and i have been there many times.
Summers are really HOT and DRY BUT in WINTER Marmaris one of the RAINIEST places in Turkey.
Istanbul has a milder and humid climate. I live in Istanbul.

@Delisle4 Well... Yes I hope you wrote my response to the other asker which wanted to be here in fall/summer. But if yoy want to be in Istanbul yes, April is the best choice. March is still rainy and a little bit cold.(It even snowed in 7th March this year.). In Late May sunlight is vertical and irritating. You are right! April is the best choice If you want to come in spring. Weather is mild and it may some rain but not irritating.

I have been telling many of my friends the same thing for years but it registers more clearly when it comes directly from a Turk. Plus of course there are some really great videos showing the beauty of Turkey and confirming what you have written. One of my dreams is to be able to visit Turkey one day.

@fordummies100 You should not be in Istanbul in summer months because it so hot and extraordinary humid because of its proximity to the sea. Today was 33 degrees celcius but with % 65 humidity, it felt like 36 degrees celcius. Early september is still hot but acceptable. But if you hate hot weather, you had better be in İstanbul in october and maybe early November. Late november and december is very rainy and a little bit cold. The best choice is october.
