The GSG's are German made. Same company makes gas guns in Germany, The Germans don't trust their people to own real firearms. They have proven themselves untrustworthy with them in the past.
@mikeandnatasha I know in germany when you go to shoot, you have to file a report saying what guns you'll be shooting, where, how many rounds. Then get it approved. It's like using hand grenades
Almost all pistol and rifle shooting other than "hunting" is done at registered ranges in Germany and the vast majority of privately owned weapons must be kept under lock and key at ranges when not being used at the range. I say "hunting" because you have to know how they "hunt" in Germnay. More of an organized activity than what we call hunting in the US.
I went shooting in the woods in Germany once. Forestmeister came riding his bike up and he had a rifle slung over his back. He started yelling at me in German to put my hands up blah blah blah. I put my hand on my holstered EMPTY P38 and started backing up yelling "nicht verstein" . He put his hands up, I got in my car and drove out of there like a bat out of hell . How I spent 4 years in that country and never got thrown in jail I'll never know.
@mikeandnatasha It´s not true. I shot 3 Times a week. Everyone is allowed to shot guns. The only thing you have to do is to go in an official shootingrange and pay 7 Euro of insurance (you dont have to pay 7 euros if you are in a shooting club). after 1 year of shooting you are allowed to buy any weapon you want execpt for silencers or full automatic assault rifles. only semiautomatic rifles.
@mikeandnatasha friend believe me :D you are allowed to own 6 self loading pistols and take them back to your house (or you can buy 6 self loading rifles). but you have to go at least 1 time a month shooting if you want to keep your weapons. you also have to own a safe. sorry for my bad englisch :/ a good friend of mine owns a glock 17 gen 3, a cz 75 and a smith wesson target champion. he has also a walther p1 (walther p38) and a rifle but i don´t know the name of it :) grüße aus deutschland ger
The Nazis didn't disarm the German people. If anything when the Nazi tore up the Treaty of Versailles they significantly expanded civilian gun ownership versus what was available under the Weimar Government. Of course that didnt apply to the Jews.
@mikeandnatasha hitler did disarm the german people it was one of his first acts as he know that people would oppose him and take uparms, and obviusoly the jews were basicly dead with or without thier guns but some jews did form partisan groups mid way through the war
You're repeating revisionist history. You need to check your facts. The 1938 German Weapons Act was a major expansion FOR the people of the 1928 act that somewhat liberalized firearms ownership and distribution in Germany. Keep in mind that most ALL privately owned weapons were banned for civilian ownership under the post war Treaty of Versailles. The 1938 Act completely deregulated rifles and shotguns. The US Gun Control Act of 1968 was drafted in large part modeled on the 1938 German law.
Minimags are subsonic in just about anything with a barrel less than 5 inches long. ?!. Hitler did something very sneaky though, citizens could have guns but many people were no longer citizens like the jews, "Firearms and ammunition found in a Jew's possession will be forfeited to the government without compensation. " part of an act against jews owning weapons, comunsits capitalists, so the only
That wasnt too sneaky. By 1938 there was no question of the roles of Jews in Jewish society. By the time Kristallnacht rolled around in late '38 it was quite clear that Jews were not welcome in Germany.
True. Don't forget Gypsies. Fact remains that MOST Germans benefited from the 1938 act while those that didnt were no worse off than they had been under the 1919 Gun Confiscation protocol. Thats only talking about guns mind you.
@mikeandnatasha people able to bear arms(or would have benifited from the new guns laws) would be those who supported hilter so would not revolt against him, personally i think the right to bear arms is universal to any mentally sane adult
No one is disputing the Nazi gun laws were preferential to "Aryan" Germans but I tire of hearing how Hitler took guns away from the German people. Its simply not true. Love him or hate him the guy did greatly expand gun ownership to most German citizens.
