You know for a guy who never watched an episode of star trek it's amazing that he made the best star trek movies in the series. Star trek 2 is the best, of all 11 movies, and is on my list of favourite movies. 4 and 6 were also very good. Great director, and I would love to see him make another trek movie.
Only a small portion of the public are pilots. All pilots know a little about "boldy going". Abrams did nothing but dumb down Trek to the lowest common denominator as defined by the movie going demographic. Action, FX, lens flares and only passing resemblence to the hijacked franchise he raped.
There is nothing of intellectual note in JJ Trek. The core message of Trek was ripped out. Rather unecessarily I might add.
If wanted to make Top Gun in space, he should have called it such.
Yeah, and if Zack Snyder had wanted to make another zombie flick that happened to be set in a mall, then they shouldn't have called it DAWN OF THE DEAD, but then it wouldn't have made as much money, would it? That's Hollywood for you.
Man, I'd love to see Nicholas Meyer direct another Star Trek film. He could probably do better than Abrams.

A brilliant and underrated talent and a great mind. I'd love to see HIM make a Sherlock Holmes movie.

"I thought it was spectacular!"
Huh. I'm surprised a bit...

Star Trek needs Nick Meyer like the desert needs the rain.
JJ's version was a bit overblown and expensive @ 160 million $.
Nick M. brought in the best Treks for a fraction of that.
They need to do one Trek a year with Meyer.

@jmc32007 Still better than Final Frontier or Nemesis.

He's so evasive in his answers...

The interviewer won't let Nick talk. He is too busy being a know-it-all blabber mouth and asking stupid questions.

Indeed, I also don't like this interviewer

Yeah. He's a cock.

He might not be if the interviewer would let him get a word in edgewise.
