  • I wish kept filming i needed a laugh.

  • "Are you sure we're not in Kansas?" Lol.

  • when was this?

  • literally my house is on the horse farm. i see it out of my bedroom window.

  • omg when did this happen?!

  • omgggg when was this? lol

  • Poor horses. Did that tornado get any closer?

  • I would want to stand and watch it too. I live in centereach, right next to setauket.

Also, I like how someone said "the horses don't even care." lol

  • ahhaha thee horses dontt even care lmfao

  • very nice video! I love these things!

  • lol "are you sure we're not in kansas". Wow that water spout was crazy with the close-up

  • it is a water spout

  • usuLLY B 4 tornado hits the wind and everything comes to a dead silent still, thus "the calm before the storm"

  • that is Mill Neck?

  • @kawikatube

Mill Neck is in Nassau County. This is Strong's Neck.

  • its a fuking tornado over water what u wana call it it dont matter

  • did any fish fall out of the sky?

  • that's a water spout!!!

  • its a tornado ythat forms over a body of water not land. it was a bad storm

  • If it hit land, that would've been bad and I live in near the LI Sound.

  • Oh my, how can that horse take a dump during a time like this? The horses don't even care!!!

  • i live their and we got the total after storm and all that but it whent right over us

  • i was driving with my dad taking pictures when that happend i got sooooooo scared!

  • thats a water spout.

  • wow that's a trip

  • very cool video. this happened in late september 06 right?? I live in mt siani.. and i missed it.

  • But it still could be tornadic

  • What you experienced is a normal fair-water spout. The winds are normally calm. Its not a tornado unless it goes on land. They usually develope in moist areas with a little verticle wind shear. It happens when cold air and warm air collide and forms a vorticity, or measure of spin. The convergence strethces this vorticity and makes it spin faster and creates a vortex

  • yo i live here and i dont remember this...stupid tornado

  • every spring/summer we get a few water spouts and tornados

  • wtf are u fuking serious!

  • Hey, love the video. When and where was this? You don't need wind, and you dont even need a thunderstorm for a waterspout. I would like to know, did a thunderstorm form this waterspout? thanks.

  • I remember seeing this on the news, I think it was over the summer of 07, and there was no thunderstorm from what I remember. It was a perfect day with no rain.

  • holy shit...when was this?

  • hahahahhahaha oh my... "the horses don't even care" that made my day. XD

  • i saw your vid on the news.

  • Your video is way better than the one they copied on the news. You explain the stillness in the air. Good Job !

  • I live on Long Island (The south shore) and have never seen one of these.

  • i dont get it.

According to the National Weather Service and N.O.O.A., fROM 1950-1994 New York had 250 Tornadoes and Montana had 238 Tornadoes. Today, The Tornado Frequency has increased for everyone, including Montana and New York. Question: How come New York State has NO Tornado Sirens when they had MORE Tornadoes than Montana (a state that DOES HAVE TORNADO SIRENS)????

  • I know same here i live on longisland too and i have never seen a tonrado on here

  • i remember this!i was in the east and i had a terrible lightning storm where i was in, and i was in Long Island too.. so it was cool, it blew off 2 trees :P

  • That is FREAKING incredible

  • That is incredible.

  • I can't believe I missed this, I have never seen one of these before.

    Steve

  • I never heard of one happening on the Sound and I lived near Setauket harbor for almost 20 years! It was just something that was never thought of. Here in Florida they supposedly happen all the time on land and water but I've never seen even one that didn't touch the ground.

  • dude i heard about that. you know how we have the Rader on the weahter channel right? well it just had a lil green dots not like it was bad at all. We usuarly don't get them here on the island too...also that wasl ie kthe only weather the whole day, it was sunny in central suffolk county where i lived

  • The air is usually very still and erie before a tornado...

  • Waterspouts can have really weak winds compared to tornadoes. Check out my videos. I recorded a pretty strong waterspout over the sound here where I live. This one was pretty wild! check it out under my videos

  • Great waterspout, well done filming this

  • That's freaking AWESOME. I was in School today so unfortunately I couldn't see it, but I heard about it. it's amazing!
