  • Very underrated Lambo IMO. None of my friends have even heard of this.

  • I think i hear a rod knock as well.

  • @madmax2069 I am glad you are not my mechanic.

This engine was designed before the concept of NVH was invented.

There are many noises, electric fans on intercooler, BOV venting when closing the TB, cam noise, but no rod knock. When the oil pan was off I inspected each of the con-rod bearings and they looked and felt good. There is a slight “knocking” from the cams chain drive … probably a bearing that soon needs attention.

  • @LamboJalpa That was just from me hearing your motor in the video. That alone is no way to judge anyone's mechanical skills. You obviously can easily be mistaken for other noises when you only have access to a video.

  • whats that screeching and grinding that i am hearing.

  • @madmax2069 LOL HAHA!!!

  • nice setup, very tidy and props to you for giving the jalpa the power it should have had from the factory.

  • That sounds like its got American muscle under the hood.

  • Looks great. You dont see everyday someone putting that much effort and detail into a Jalpa, let alone, its a twin turbo. How my HP does she put out?

  • That sure as fuck isn't a Lambo engine......

  • someone puts a bad comment and you shoot em down haha thats the way to go, ye the badge is not needed but as you say it refers to the turbos fitted so acceptable

  • Your ride. Your rules

  • that thing sounds terrible.

  • dude... take off a badge, please.

  • lmao motor looks like LS1

  • ah! durable clutches.

  • nice car

  • Nice Lamborghini..I wish I could own it.

  • I threw up at 0:29 when I saw the cheap ebay 'twinturbo' badge.

  • Maybe your lunch was cheaper than my badge.

  • lol! touche

  • is that a porsche badge?

maybe better to go with the Audi's TT badge.

  • nice

  • looks like a Lotus turbo engine and sounds like one as well someone please correct me

  • About the only similarities between those two engines are the displacement (3.5L) and cylinder count (8).

  • looks like one too, if it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck and has the same number of cylinders as a duck its more than likely that it is a lotus engine

  • @LamboJalpa Transversely mounted, flat plane V8, 3,5 litre with turbos. They are very similiar indeed.

  • @digiblu LOL the lotus 3.5 started life as grandmas Buick in the 60s...

  • I really hope the engine was already warm... lol

  • Talk about BEAST!

  • nicee

  • OMG, you actually put Porsche 'twin turbo' badges on the rear? With all this effort, couldn't you have kept it true to some semblance of Italian design and thought of something a little more unique and true?

  • That was "semblence' ended with forced induction.

  • The twin turbo badge is from a Mitsubishi 3000GT as are the turbos I installed, so I think that is reasonable truth in advertizing.

  • @LamboJalpa who the crap cares, looks like a nice project if you wanted to put a middle finger on the back go for it! any of these jack asses ever built a car? put on what ever you want bro!!!!! I was chastised about putting an alternator on a project and jackasses like these sputtered on about "should kept the gen on" It was a daily driver and didn't think messing around with old tech was worth the hassle!

  • nice sound

  • RMB in place of mufflers .

Turbo's hate restricted exhaust. You will hear the turbo spool like a jet plane

  • I really enjoyed the write-up you did on this project on your website. Good read, very cool project as well.

  • Pretty cool...especially since it seems that you spent a lot of time and effort on it

  • ok... sory mate my bad.... can explain me how it works tho coz i still dont get it :/

  • You have the traditionalist turbo set up idea correct. The intake plumbing from the turbo does have to go back to the intake manifold. The intake/filter that you see in the vid doesn't go to the manifold directly. It enters the first turbo then second turbo then the compressed air snakes back to the manifold. That filter element just hides the plumbing so it looks like it's a straight shot. Quite an engineering feat with the parallel serial turbo config.

  • oh.. ok.. thanx for arguing))) sry for triing to prove a false point...

  • No probs my brudda, no harm no foul. I love car tech talk. Actually, looking at his diagrams and mock up, that air filter looking things is actually an intercooler, so it does go back to the manifold directly but the intake piping from the turbos underneath are hidden.

  • ok that makes more sense to me...

  • I just wet myself! That sounded awsome.

    Nice vintage engine roar.

  • como si tuvieras un lamborghini.. ANIMAL !

Te apuesto q cuando escribiste este comment .. estabas fantaseando con tu "944.. 4 cylinders" q era de juguete te apuesto hahaha

Imbecil.. usa tu maldita computadora cuando no estes drogado !!

  • I love Lamborghini's but honestly I dont think that sounds to hot.

  • i seen one of these just tonight. i thought it was a pantera at first glance then i pulled up closer beside it and it said Lamborghini license plate saying jalpa. i tried to race him but he didnt want to lol i would have kicked his ass. when i got home i googled it and here i am looking up video's on this car.

  • What a good work you did !

You really love your own Lambo, aren't you ?

    That's good, that's so good.

  • Thanks.

Well that's true, but I also get some creative outlet doing the improvements.

The main drawback of the Jalpa is the lack of power relative to today's cars, so that needed "a little" attention :)

  • I own a Ferrari 308 GTB(It is called "classic" nowadays),and feel lack of power as you felt, but I have neither money to improve it nor a technique.

However, your good work inspired me.

    Sorry my poor English,

    Thank you !

  • what did it cost to modify to the twin turbo?

Best of luck that is a awesome car !

  • In direct expenses maybe between $10k and $15k plus a lot of my time and my own machining.

If you haven't already, see the reference to the activities involved in my initial comment to the right of the video.

  • Impressive, good job on the conversion.

  • that's one sweet car

  • Increadible patience and attention to detail. I own an 85 Jalpa white like yours and watching your video made me just pull it out of storage and take it for a spin. Very impressive.

  • Thanks, I am glad to inspire you taking your Jalpa for a spin.

My conversion surely did require lots of patience.

  • What engine did you put in it? That CAN'T be the stock Jalpa engine...is it? Looks GREAT!

  • It is a stock Jalpa engine with 9:1 compression ratio, which is ideal for modern turbo-charging with good engine management. I didn't touch the internals, except increase the clamping force on the cylinder head.

  • big sheattttt

  • Does it need a rebuild?, its awfull....

  • No.

There are some things that work and others that don't. I can see on your channel, that you focus on things that don't work.

With that in mind I wanted to refer you to my favorite Ferrari 456 GT video, but I can see you already got that as a favorite.

So sorry to disappoint you, no explosions or even a quiet destruction here :)

  • Amazing car amazing sound. Is that a pre-engaged starter?

  • Thanks, you are probably hearing the thermostatically controlled intercooler fans coming on (hot engine), when the ignition is turned on. Immediately thereafter I am starting the engine with the original (and traditional) Bosch starter motor.

  • Bravo! Congrats on a whoopass car.

  • Thanks a lot. The Gallardo on your channel is very impressive in the snow.
