To be sure it was the most stylistically advanced of all of his 1931 pressings of this tune, due to the simple fact that the rhythm section was that of a Swing Era Big Band. Drum kit with high hat and ride cymbols, guitar, piano and for that day, John Kirby evidently forsook playing the tuba in favor of his upright bass, probably the aluminum one that was noted in some of the stories about the band.
The storm was already brewing good to begin with - then when John Kirby kicked in with 4/4 time while Rex Stewart lit a muted cornet solo with the sax's fluid drive, the whole thing just went into the stratosphere. ;)
One cool thing is that Billie Holiday's father - Clarence Holiday - is on guitar with Fletcher here.
@SwingBandHeaven Oh, I think you may have heard of this band before - "Connie's Inn Orchestra" was actually a pseudonym for Fletcher Henderson and his Orchestra. ;)
Yeah this, IMO, is the best recording of "Sugar Foot Stomp" Fletcher cut - just loose and freewheeling as hell.
Before I snagged the original Crown release, I had the Savoy re-issue as well: "Sugar Foot Stomp"/"Blue Rhythm" by 'Fletcher Henderson and his All Star Orchestra with Coleman Hawkins' on Savoy 500. It was from getting that 78 at a yard sale that I started the search for the original pressing.

I don't know whether this would have helped but I have the re-pressing of this on the Savoy issue.
