I like the Toyota, but I like the Honda more. Seems like a better quality van to me. Yes, it's whattheheck1000, and yes, I went through my Honda-hating phase (you can look up earlier comments from like 2009). The Odyssey just looks more appealing to my now 19 year old eyes though.
Look at the name who uploaded this video Toyotaminivans, LOL it's obvious who was going to win LMAO!! Toyota is piece of trash and ugly as f*ck!! Honda Oddy rules!!
@boberson33 The old sienna is the winner, it had a nicer interior, the honda oddesy had a hard plastic dash board while the sienna used a padded dash board. But if you were to compare the two new vans now, the oddesy is definitely nicer, toyota cheeped out on their interior while honda upgraded.
This is the hugest bullshit I have ever seen im my life... Was this a fucking joke or something? The honda odyssey's part quality is nowhere near poor, we had a 2003 Odyssey for 6 years (160,00 KM/H) and the biggest repair we did on it was tire changes... You should really read over the stats too, the Odyssey stats were way off. And styling... How the fuck could you call some pussy feminine womens minivan nicer looking than a Honda? Take a look at all the new Toyota's nowadays.
the racing comparison is important----because its used as a general reference for comparison. also it shows better efficiency in the build--and that could easily relate to every other thing about the vehicle. as go the teeth--so likely also are the bones
I like the Toyota better than the Odyssey, but what a poorly made video! For one thing, to say one looks better than the other is ridiculous. That's purely subjective. Reliability; they're both very good. So you win either way. And who races minivans? Why is that important? You'd do Toyota a favour by NOT promoting their products.
I've had one in the past for a fleet vehicle (XLE with AWD) and... IT SUCKED! Very noisy and bumpy and the thing was BLAND! I would have gone for the Odyssey and not the Sienna... I would pay more because the Odyssey has a sleeker design and the leather seats for Sienna only come with 7 passenger seating (and Honda with leather has 8) so Toyota... BEAT THAT!
What the heck in the world are you talking about? Toyota sienna's look f***ing ugly compared the the sleek chrome laden Odyssey. Honestly the toyota sienna is NOISY, feels cheap to the touch. I hate it.

Thank you for your comparison. Because of that Honda Odyssey was #1 selling minivan in America for two years in a row (2008 and 2009 and possibly 2010 also). Thanks again.

The Honda seems much better and much more pleasing to the eye ... The Toyota seems like something you might get at a rental car company... I like Toyota and Honda both ... But if I had to drive a Mini Van I would get the Honda... Honda seems to have better resale value as well
This is very true. The SIENNA WILL WIN BEWEEN THE TWO. You all are just bummed that Honda can never make as good a minivan (or any other car) as ood as a Toyota!
@mohamed8107 my 2002 odyssey has a transmission promblem when i bought the 2010 odyssey it didn't had a transmission problem. besides the 2010 sienna has a
sliding door problem. and the 2010 odyssey is the top mini van. plus the fuckin stupid sienna is damm fuckin ungly
okay shut the fuck up! your stupid username shows you are a toyota slave man anyways. so it's not worth of anyones time to listen to your biased videos. but seriously where the fucking hell did you find those "crisp lines" on the side of sienna? it looks as simplistic as a mushed shit! when you mentioned "crisp line" and then compared the pics, i just paused the video to avoid waisting my time with your comparison cuz u dont make any sense. then i laughed my ass off at u.
I bet you the uploader probably has a Sienna thats why he made Sienna win in all the comparsions. Sienna is Ugly than Odyssey. Odyssey has a better engine and long lasting (any honda has). Odyssey is the only minivan that has a speedometer that goes up to 160m/260Km. It could smoke Sienna. Personally i don't like this odyssey (model). But if i have to chose from 08 odyssey to any sienna, i would pick odyssey. The 05-07 models were more hotter.
What a biased video!!! my fav part is when you say the sienna is better looking, SIKE! Opionated... and besides, the sienna looks like a frigin bug from the front. UGLY! The reason the honda is more expensive base price, is because honda doesnt believe in using cheap parts to bring the price down and it includes so many more standard options, to INCLUDE SAFETY FEATURES. why should u have to buy your safety from toyota (side curtain airbags). On top of all that, hondas features are more refined
anybody with some style sense can clearly see the Honda looks better. and is a better finish. the Toyota's interior feels cheap i have been in one. and yes unlike Toyota . Honda doesn't gave sticky gas pedals ha ha.
Personally, I like the Honda better. This really is an opinionated video. Maybe do more factual information as well as statistics to prove your point.
This is a commercial from a toyota lover, so no wonder Sienna will win. I prefer both cars, they both have excellent qualities in terms of passenger cars, suv's, and minivans. I have 2 toyotas and 1 honda.
Toyotaminivans: good song choice!! because you are a loser, and i hope some1 does kill you for making this ridiculously biased review. when you use words like "crisper", u make urself sound like a complete fucking tool. the sienna u compared looks like that cheap Kia crap that the inferior koreans make. the new sienna is awsome! still number 2 behind the honda, as it is in almost every comparison you can throw out there. e.g civic vs corolla, accord vs camry, pilot vs highlander.
As a sienna owner, ('07 sienna limited) It IS the most luxurious, most efficient and best looking minivan on the market. And right now i'm getting 21.4MPG combined. Can't beat it. And the interior is twice as nice and any other competitor.
The HP comparison is completely irreverent. So it makes 20 less HP, big deal its a friggin minivan. I personally think the Odyssey is more appealing on the exterior end but minivans aren't built for looks. Ride quality, cargo space, and features is pretty much what you want in a minivan, and the Odyssey gains the edge respectively in each space and ride quality, but the new 2011 Sienna offers a lot of high tech gadgets so its the current winner now. The 2011 Odyssey will regain the crown.
i think the grand caravan beats the for muscle looks. the grand caravan has more space with all seats stowable. american cars generally have better interiors than japanese. japanese might be better built in some ways but the american interiors are always more roomy
with the odyessy the EX and EXL models come standered with 8 seats and the LX and touring models come with 7, but u can buy the plus 1 seat for the 2nd row that is in the EX ans EXL to make it 8... which you can't do in the Toyota
The Odyssey's a tough sell? There are more Odysseys on the road today than Sienna! Have you every even owned a Honda? I've owned both and my Honda is much better quality!
Truck-like exterior appeal+Sedan like feeling when you drive+big minivan size+luxury feel+Awesome quality=Honda Odyssey!
I just saw 2 vids of the 2011 siena... they redisgned it, it looks just like the venza... it has a rear sunroof, a recliner, and an extra wide screen dvd player. Odyessey might have some trouble next year.. but for this year oddyessy kicks ass
kelly blu book seems to agree with me... they said the desighn of the oddesy was by far the best of all of them. And the driver's side only has a four star crah raiting. You might exellerate a little faster, but wh ydoes thta matter if you die in a car crash?
The oddesy is a better car in my opinion. It's interir was orginally desighned after the BMW 7 serie, so it is ery luxuriuos. Also, to get a high model you don't have tosacrifice your 8th seat. Thoguh the Toyata has avalible AWD, you have to give up your spare tire to get it and it comes with these expensie self sealing ones that are a pain to replace. You get more feachires in the base exl than the base xle. The loaded model Oddesy is cheaper andhas the same features as the Toyota.
this is the dumbest comparison I have ever seen. However, I've had 2 Odysseys and currently have Sienna XLE ltd. Sienna beats Ody on fuel economy hands down and has been the more trouble free of the two (both my Ody's had electrical issues, I sold both before the tranny could break) but the Ody was way more fun to drive, has better styling inside and out IMO. My wife won't drive one anymore after being left stranded on multiple occasions (electrial gremlins abound). Sienna HID lights are cool.
I remember when I got my first Sienna! '98 model, not too shabby! Much better than maybe a Dodge Caravan, but when I got my 2007 Odyssey EX-L I was blown away! My Toyota had WAAAAAAAAAAAY worse quality than the Honda! It had a rattling dash, a child-lock that would always turn on, constant engine troubles and a REALLY bad heater! The Odyssey is perfect, and has a good Honda heater for those cold winter mornings. The moral: HONDA IS WAY BETTER THAN TOYOTA!!!
wow this was the worst vid ever!!! hondas had really bad build quality??? lol they actually do it the best, a hard sell for most peole??? i wonder why the oddesy was the best selling minivan of 2009, the toyota was in 4th place, even dodge sold more caravans that toyota sold seinnas, thats sad cause dodge really sucks
the thing with top selling is because of the price. but then again dodge didnt deisgn their last van, VW did. and honda does make a better van. honda also makes a better civic then corrola. but camry does have accord beat in some terms but thats a huge debate.
@bigpapi9643 Actually, the old sienna had much better build quality than the oddesy, the sienna was the better van up until the 2011 redesign when toyota cheeped out on it and honda actually improved the oddesys build quality. Now, the sienna is the worst van next to the sedona and grand crapavan, which are also terrible.
For thoes who believe sienna is the better mini van, I used to work in Toyota dealers for two years and I noticed many failure on the engines and doors arms quality. TO MAKE A BIG POINT : HONDA MADE MORE THAN 23,000,000 MILLION VTEC ENGINE SINCE 1983 AND NOT A SINGLE ONE FAILED. now how is your feeling Toyota??? I dont wana know.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention that insurance for the Sienna is more expensive since its safety rating is less than the Honda Odyssey which had insurance that was cheaper since the Odyssey had an excellent safety rating!! 5 Stars!! Also the Odyssey holds its value very well compared to the ugly, disgusting, cheaply made Sienna!
Honda Odyssey has better styling!! Toyota Sienna is very ugly!! I am not biased since i own a 2008 Honda Odyssey EX-L I have driven a 2009 Toyota Sienna LE when I rented it out in Chicago and the interior was small and made with cheap materials!! And about the part the Toyota Sienna sells out the Honda Odyssey the is certainly not true at all since in my area I see plenty of Odysseys on the road vs Siennas!!
First off I have been in both cars: a friends sienna LE and my mom's Odyssey EX-L. The sienna is super cheap looking inside and shouldn't even be worth what the pricing is. If you also find one used, you will notice the toyota's value sucks while the odyssey keeps its value. Known Fact.
Honda is super safe!! i was in my moms 2009 honda odyssey and we t bones a car at 50 mph and NOBODY was hurt!! and the car wasnt even totaled! a couple of weeks later we saw a wreck happen tha thad a brand new 2005 toyota sienna and it looked CRUSHED and people from it were being put in an ambulance to go to the hospital and we were going the same speed as them!! Plus in my opinion the odyssey has a more classy look about it and the sienna has a cheap look about it!!
This guy is a toyota nut job. FYI Toyota is cheaping out on their parts and build. Anyways, the Toyota styling is totally chick van. The interior is fugly and bland. The headlight is just too chinky. The tail light is just all round sport wannabe but lame to be. The overall body shape is just too feminine. Another rip off is that they have crazy options that should have been standard. Such as disc brakes all around, vehicle stability, well equipped airbags, even floor mats, and so on.
@NSX00000 Rip off? The old siennas gave you a lot for your money and costed less. Looks aren't even considered in vans, especially older ones. Build quality was outstanding for any van in the older siennas, the sienna was the class leader up until the current sienna when toyota replaced the older sienna with a new POS that has an awful plastic y interior. But I agree, this guy is a nut job, his goes everywhere and complains that all toyotas rock when new ones suck.
yea sure the sienna is cheaper, but guess what, the odyssey doesn't come with drum brakes, and has all the safety features on ALL models STANDARD and not just the upper trim models.
the sienna does not have an exciting interior...nor is it's exterior any better.
i will admit both van are great and you can't go wrong with either, the Odyssey just handles MUCH better and feels safer than driving the sienna.
it's funny how you take pictures of the touring model and compare it with the ce model.
If u just need a basic minivan go for the Sienna CE; it costs about $21K now; if you want something more than basic there is more value in a Honda; the EX that comes with 2 power sliding doors osts cheaper than a Toyota LE with only ne power door. Toyota would make u pay for everything extra which most of them are standard options on a Honda
The Toyota Sienna is definitely quieter than the Honda Odyssey but that is where the advantages end. The Odyssey is a much sportier driving mini-van (it is actually fun to drive). Toyotas also come stripped, even though they start out with a lower entry price options add up quickly. Let's compare apples to apples a Honda Odyssey LX against a similarly equipped Toyota Sienna will be cheaper so obviously the Toyota has no price advantage. This video is pure propaganda.
i will pick sienna, i did research between the two almost the same and the price of Sienna is much cheaper with the same performance , so go with the cheaper one right?
the sienna is taller and offers more headroom in the front but the roofline just slants down in the back. Performance goes to the sienna because the fully loaded oen has 275 hp (i think) and the sienna has a longer wheelbase. In the interior, Honda odyssey offers better features and nav system is great. From the inside, the honda seems more roomier. and from the outside, the honda looks wider, they are almost the exact same size (probably a difference of 0.7 inches of every demension)
I Think the Toyota Sienna is much better looking then the Honda Odyssey. Even though Toyota and Homna have been competting with each other for about 8 yrs, Toyota is the most top selling minivan out there!!!!! Its cheap, great looking and if you know lakewood nj That is the only van you SEE!!!!! Alos in 2010-2011 they are comming out with a new style check it out on google images!!!!
Watch the TOYOTA SLUDGE video here. Go to the "Toyota Owners Unite for Resolution" to join others. Go to toyotaoilgeldotcom for details. Read autoresearcher's channel page.
ok thats it, how old are you, 12? i stopped at 0:48. there is no such thing as "more uglier" and the Honda is a MUCH better looking van. the Sienna looks cheap, like a bloated Corolla..
ok 2:26, now you're just nit picking. there is a reason the steering wheel is black, so it doesn't look like crap when it gets all dirty from years of nasty hands being on it..
i think the Honda looks more robust and tougher. and that is just what i like. ik think the toyota looks a bit cheap. normaly i am a toyota fan (lexus is also welcome in my garage) but this time i must say Honda did a better job :(
Well, most likely, it is a young guys thing. Hondas are for young people and Toyotas are for families. So duh, but I at a teen-age still prefer Toyotas...
I think the Odyssey crash test was cheating. They used the LX van, with no buttons on the steering wheel. The EX series vans would be even less safe due to hard, unpadded buttons on the steering wheel.
I would actually go for a NEW Camry now that they are fast as chit, but when it comes to minivan, even though the Sienna looks way better than it used to, I still like the Odyssey. By the way your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are the Sienna friendliest and Odyssey hatingest numbers I can find on the NET! And to answer your question: Why Odyssey out sells Sienna? I guess they're just more appealing, they certainly appeal more to me. I do like your slide show, but less bias would be better. Thanks
alexkvaskov, a well known crash test YouTuber says that the Honda Odyssey is safer than the Toyota Sienna. Check out his video: Honda Safety, then read the comment.
@Toyotaminivans Why you blaming alexkvaskov Hes not the only addict look at you a freakin toyota addict! The sienna is ugly as crap. The honda is way more better looking than the piece of SHIT Toyota. Oh yea, and Why you fucking hate chrysler so much!!!! I own a 1996 Dodge intrepid sure its not the best, bit its not the worst either. Oh yea, and the Odyssey was named best minivan of 2009 and 2007. You Fucking piece of shit. HATER. PERIOD
IIHS rates good for all sections for the Toyota Sienna in frontal ratings.
I really find infomation based on NHTSA.
Still, in my opinion, the Odyssey is the safer one.IIHS states that Toyota Sienna ranked poor in two sections, and average in one, for the rear crash test. Sooo...
I'm going with ODYSSEY!!!
BTW: GMminivans9968 says the Odyssey is safer than the Sienna.
SAFETY>LUXURIES, PERFORMANCE, POWER, CD DOES NOT SKIPS, BUTT WARMING SEATS, AND ALL THE OTHER STUFF.
'Cause seriously, what do SMART minivan mums really consider? Especially when they have a whole bunch of 7 years olds bickering about how much they rather watch Winnie the Pooh than Dora the Explorer on the DVD set in the van, which further distracts the mum, creating a disasterous potential to crash.
In a severe crash who's going to come off better? The Sienna driver. Sure, the Odyssey driver might do better in a little bump from the rear, but the Sienna is a safer vehicle in severe crashes by far.
What... Are you serious? I mean, the Sienna is a safe van too, its just that the Odyssey has lower kinetic ratings on the dummies (IDK what else to call them), which therefore means less chances of broken bones and torn muscles.
'Kay, say a two cars rearend both vans at 40 mph. The kids in the third row, assuming that's it's a big family, in the Odyssey will experience some cuts from the seatbelt, and a sore neck. The kids in the Sienna, IDK. Maybe spine disc realignment and torn deltoids.
Let's look at the offset test, shall we? The Odyssey driver hit a stiff airbag and then got slammed by curtain and side airbags deploying at the wrong time. Toyota Sienna? Went into a much less stiff airbag and then came back almost square into the seat.
There are IIHS tests on the Sienna. The Sienna driver's HIC (head injury) was 127, about a 10% chance of a minor head injury. The Odyssey? 238, about a 50% chance of head injury.
Remember, whattheheck1000, just like what the famous author Gilerou used to say,"Eyes can be deceiving..." Just because the dummy in the Sienna fell right back on his seat right after his test, does not mean that he is unharmed or altered in any way that would hurt Sienna's scores.
Consumersearch confirms that the Toyota Sienna has the lowest rating among the two minivans in the rear end crash test, the other being the Nissan Quest.
Honda Odyssey scored all crash test as 'Good' or 5 stars, except for roll over resistance, for that was 4 stars, which whereas the Toyota Sienna also got 4 stars for that matter.
Click on 'New Cars', then 'Safety'. Then select the minivan segment.
FYI: I am not bashing on Toyota. The Sienna is a well designed vehicle, a winner in the Mom's segment for vehicle choice. I would understand if someone supports the Sienna rather than the Odyssey, due to the Sienna's legendary reliability and overall quality.
The Honda Odyssey scored better in safety than the Toyota Sienna.
Honda Odyssey fared better in the rear end test than the Toyota Sienna.
Also, the 2009 Honda Odyssey scored 5/5 in the driver's frontal crash test, while the 2009 Toyota Sienna scored 4/5 in the driver's frontal crash test.
Plus, the Honda Odyssey has more safety features than the Toyota Sienna.
Honda Odyssey has standard daytime running lights and dynamic head restraint.
Ok. I agree wholeheartedly that the Sienna is better. But, the Odyssey doesn't have a chance since the video creator's name is "Toyotaminivans." Haha...
next time if you compare cars try not to compare honda top of the line with toyota base. You are such a loser if you compare top of the line odyssey with base toyota. why dont you compare toyota limited awd to honda touring see whose gonna win i know toyota is the winner
No specific trim was chosen for either van. They were just being compared in general. If you look, you'll see pictures of the Sienna CE and Limited. Same with the Odyssey: pics of Touring w/ PAX and LX.
Just bought a 2008 Honda Odyssey EX-L today. I paid for my loaded EX-L $26,400 while the Sienna XLE was $27,755. 21.8 miles on the Honda I bought, and 49.2 on the Toyota Sienna.
I don't know how you can think the Sienna looks better, but I will thank you for making this video, because when my wife and I watched it last night...it helped us choose the Honda!!!

Toyotaminivans: good song choice!! because you are a loser, and i hope some1 does kill you for making this ridiculously biased review. when you use words like "crisper", u make urself sound like a complete fucking tool. the sienna u compared looks like that cheap Kia crap that the inferior koreans make. the new sienna is awsome! still number 2 behind the honda, as it is in almost every comparison you can throw out there. e.g civic vs corolla, accord vs camry, pilot vs highlander.
teddyd2009 1 year ago
As a sienna owner, ('07 sienna limited) It IS the most luxurious, most efficient and best looking minivan on the market. And right now i'm getting 21.4MPG combined. Can't beat it. And the interior is twice as nice and any other competitor.
boxcarracer565 2 years ago
The HP comparison is completely irreverent. So it makes 20 less HP, big deal its a friggin minivan. I personally think the Odyssey is more appealing on the exterior end but minivans aren't built for looks. Ride quality, cargo space, and features is pretty much what you want in a minivan, and the Odyssey gains the edge respectively in each space and ride quality, but the new 2011 Sienna offers a lot of high tech gadgets so its the current winner now. The 2011 Odyssey will regain the crown.

with the odyessy the EX and EXL models come standered with 8 seats and the LX and touring models come with 7, but u can buy the plus 1 seat for the 2nd row that is in the EX ans EXL to make it 8... which you can't do in the Toyota

The Odyssey's a tough sell? There are more Odysseys on the road today than Sienna! Have you every even owned a Honda? I've owned both and my Honda is much better quality!
Truck-like exterior appeal+Sedan like feeling when you drive+big minivan size+luxury feel+Awesome quality=Honda Odyssey!

kelly blu book seems to agree with me... they said the desighn of the oddesy was by far the best of all of them. And the driver's side only has a four star crah raiting. You might exellerate a little faster, but wh ydoes thta matter if you die in a car crash?

rockindoodcm 2 years ago
The oddesy is a better car in my opinion. It's interir was orginally desighned after the BMW 7 serie, so it is ery luxuriuos. Also, to get a high model you don't have tosacrifice your 8th seat. Thoguh the Toyata has avalible AWD, you have to give up your spare tire to get it and it comes with these expensie self sealing ones that are a pain to replace. You get more feachires in the base exl than the base xle. The loaded model Oddesy is cheaper andhas the same features as the Toyota.
rockindoodcm 2 years ago 2
I just prooved half your stuff wrong... that grill stuff is BS and you know it, it just depends on your opinion, it isn't a fact that it looks better
rockindoodcm 2 years ago
this is the dumbest comparison I have ever seen.

The Sienna is EASIEST the UGLIER van, it looks like a bloated fish. I don't own a Sienna nor an Odyssey, so there is no bias here.
hemiv8power 2 years ago
I remember when I got my first Sienna! '98 model, not too shabby! Much better than maybe a Dodge Caravan, but when I got my 2007 Odyssey EX-L I was blown away! My Toyota had WAAAAAAAAAAAY worse quality than the Honda! It had a rattling dash, a child-lock that would always turn on, constant engine troubles and a REALLY bad heater! The Odyssey is perfect, and has a good Honda heater for those cold winter mornings. The moral: HONDA IS WAY BETTER THAN TOYOTA!!!

wow this was the worst vid ever!!! hondas had really bad build quality??? lol they actually do it the best, a hard sell for most peole??? i wonder why the oddesy was the best selling minivan of 2009, the toyota was in 4th place, even dodge sold more caravans that toyota sold seinnas, thats sad cause dodge really sucks

rockindoodcm 2 years ago
@bigpapi9643
the thing with top selling is because of the price. but then again dodge didnt deisgn their last van, VW did. and honda does make a better van. honda also makes a better civic then corrola. but camry does have accord beat in some terms but thats a huge debate.
alex49698 1 year ago
@bigpapi9643 Actually, the old sienna had much better build quality than the oddesy, the sienna was the better van up until the 2011 redesign when toyota cheeped out on it and honda actually improved the oddesys build quality. Now, the sienna is the worst van next to the sedona and grand crapavan, which are also terrible.
Lexuslover123 5 months ago
For thoes who believe sienna is the better mini van, I used to work in Toyota dealers for two years and I noticed many failure on the engines and doors arms quality. TO MAKE A BIG POINT : HONDA MADE MORE THAN 23,000,000 MILLION VTEC ENGINE SINCE 1983 AND NOT A SINGLE ONE FAILED. now how is your feeling Toyota??? I dont wana know.
jenzadeh 2 years ago 4
Oh yeah I forgot to mention that insurance for the Sienna is more expensive since its safety rating is less than the Honda Odyssey which had insurance that was cheaper since the Odyssey had an excellent safety rating!! 5 Stars!! Also the Odyssey holds its value very well compared to the ugly, disgusting, cheaply made Sienna!
rynesantos 2 years ago 4
Honda Odyssey has better styling!! Toyota Sienna is very ugly!! I am not biased since i own a 2008 Honda Odyssey EX-L I have driven a 2009 Toyota Sienna LE when I rented it out in Chicago and the interior was small and made with cheap materials!! And about the part the Toyota Sienna sells out the Honda Odyssey the is certainly not true at all since in my area I see plenty of Odysseys on the road vs Siennas!!
rynesantos 2 years ago 2
Ok this is making me laugh!
First off I have been in both cars: a friends sienna LE and my mom's Odyssey EX-L. The sienna is super cheap looking inside and shouldn't even be worth what the pricing is. If you also find one used, you will notice the toyota's value sucks while the odyssey keeps its value. Known Fact.
AJC844 2 years ago
Honda is super safe!! i was in my moms 2009 honda odyssey and we t bones a car at 50 mph and NOBODY was hurt!! and the car wasnt even totaled! a couple of weeks later we saw a wreck happen tha thad a brand new 2005 toyota sienna and it looked CRUSHED and people from it were being put in an ambulance to go to the hospital and we were going the same speed as them!! Plus in my opinion the odyssey has a more classy look about it and the sienna has a cheap look about it!!
NightSwordShade 2 years ago
This guy is a toyota nut job. FYI Toyota is cheaping out on their parts and build. Anyways, the Toyota styling is totally chick van. The interior is fugly and bland. The headlight is just too chinky. The tail light is just all round sport wannabe but lame to be. The overall body shape is just too feminine. Another rip off is that they have crazy options that should have been standard. Such as disc brakes all around, vehicle stability, well equipped airbags, even floor mats, and so on.
NSX00000 2 years ago 8
@NSX00000 Rip off? The old siennas gave you a lot for your money and costed less. Looks aren't even considered in vans, especially older ones. Build quality was outstanding for any van in the older siennas, the sienna was the class leader up until the current sienna when toyota replaced the older sienna with a new POS that has an awful plastic y interior. But I agree, this guy is a nut job, his goes everywhere and complains that all toyotas rock when new ones suck.
Lexuslover123 5 months ago
yea sure the sienna is cheaper, but guess what, the odyssey doesn't come with drum brakes, and has all the safety features on ALL models STANDARD and not just the upper trim models.
the sienna does not have an exciting interior...nor is it's exterior any better.
i will admit both van are great and you can't go wrong with either, the Odyssey just handles MUCH better and feels safer than driving the sienna.
it's funny how you take pictures of the touring model and compare it with the ce model.

CharlietoKind 2 years ago
The Toyota Sienna is definitely quieter than the Honda Odyssey but that is where the advantages end. The Odyssey is a much sportier driving mini-van (it is actually fun to drive). Toyotas also come stripped, even though they start out with a lower entry price options add up quickly. Let's compare apples to apples a Honda Odyssey LX against a similarly equipped Toyota Sienna will be cheaper so obviously the Toyota has no price advantage. This video is pure propaganda.
cardo1111 2 years ago
i will pick sienna, i did research between the two almost the same and the price of Sienna is much cheaper with the same performance , so go with the cheaper one right?

the sienna is taller and offers more headroom in the front but the roofline just slants down in the back.
TroVirus 2 years ago
I Think the Toyota Sienna is much better looking then the Honda Odyssey. Even though Toyota and Homna have been competting with each other for about 8 yrs, Toyota is the most top selling minivan out there!!!!!

Thanks

IIHS website, go to Minivans, then to Frontal Technical Measurements.
whattheheck1000 2 years ago
My apologies, you were correct with that.
27riccioconroe 2 years ago
Also, firedemon101 says that he would rather ride the Odyssey than the Sienna.
27riccioconroe 2 years ago
My opinion:
SAFETY>LUXURIES, PERFORMANCE, POWER, CD DOES NOT SKIPS, BUTT WARMING SEATS, AND ALL THE OTHER STUFF.
'Cause seriously, what do SMART minivan mums really consider? Especially when they have a whole bunch of 7 years olds bickering about how much they rather watch Winnie the Pooh than Dora the Explorer on the DVD set in the van, which further distracts the mum, creating a disasterous potential to crash.
27riccioconroe 2 years ago
In a severe crash who's going to come off better? The Sienna driver. Sure, the Odyssey driver might do better in a little bump from the rear, but the Sienna is a safer vehicle in severe crashes by far.
whattheheck1000 2 years ago
27riccioconroe 2 years ago
Let's look at the offset test, shall we? The Odyssey driver hit a stiff airbag and then got slammed by curtain and side airbags deploying at the wrong time. Toyota Sienna? Went into a much less stiff airbag and then came back almost square into the seat.
whattheheck1000 2 years ago
Okay, I just saw a crash test (frontal) of the 2004-2010 Sienna, conducted by NHTSA.
Driver 4 stars.
Passenger 5 stars.
I can't find any frontal crash test from IIHS.
27riccioconroe 2 years ago
There are IIHS tests on the Sienna. The Sienna driver's HIC (head injury) was 127, about a 10% chance of a minor head injury. The Odyssey? 238, about a 50% chance of head injury.
whattheheck1000 2 years ago
Now, let's check IIHS vehicle rating for Top Safety pick. Scroll over to the minivan segment:
Honda Odyssey
Hyundai Entourage
Kia Sedona
OHHH! Where's the Toyota Sienna. Ahh, nope, not a top performer and is not safer than the Honda Odyssey in any way.
As for that offset test, give me the address, I want to check it out.:)
27riccioconroe 2 years ago
Remember, whattheheck1000, just like what the famous author Gilerou used to say,"Eyes can be deceiving..." Just because the dummy in the Sienna fell right back on his seat right after his test, does not mean that he is unharmed or altered in any way that would hurt Sienna's scores.
27riccioconroe 2 years ago
**CONTINUED**
Consumersearch confirms that the Toyota Sienna has the lowest rating among the two minivans in the rear end crash test, the other being the Nissan Quest.
Honda Odyssey scored all crash test as 'Good' or 5 stars, except for roll over resistance, for that was 4 stars, which whereas the Toyota Sienna also got 4 stars for that matter.

Honda Odyssey fared better in the rear end test than the Toyota Sienna.
