These days, airlines do ANYTHING to save money and it costs lives. The old days of being a respected, rested, and trained pilot are gone. I used to fly in those days, when cockpits were open and you could enter and watch and it was a joy to fly. I am scared these days to fly because of the business of air travel takes precedence over the safety of air travel.
They're starting to really run thin of incidents to cover if they now have to stretch "pilot comes in too low and didn't abort due to visibility like he should have" into a full episode. It's a terrible accident that it occurred, but it doesn't take anywhere near 45 minutes to explain it, and it was clear already from the opening dramatization what happened.

What kind of pilot raises the landing gear on the ground, gets lost and ends up in Italy and his passengers have to tell him so, and fails multiple times in Flight School, AND YET he is still in an airline and is licensed to fly. WHAT KIND OF AIRLINE IS CROSSAIR?
The Pilot was incompetent,, yes! But what kind of regulators allow a company to keep a pilot on for 20yrs without testing them regularly. They sit back and take landing fees but we have more police giving us speeding tickets than pilots being tested and assessing pilots and small companies being tested. Its a joke.

You can't blame the people that were complaining about the noise. It's actually standard in the most airports to use different runways during night. Pilots should be able to fly them.
If you get too much power, like the captain did, you usually get gocky, too proud about itself! So, you don't think clearly: you don't care and / or rispect about other pilot / pilots and maybe other crew memebers thinking that you know everything or you are a god, where you captain on that time or not (usually if not allways the captain)! You think that you are right all the time or many times and like I said you don't think clearly, because you are too much about thinking yourself/itself!

And when he didn't see, captain did, alltough he probably dind't see the airport alltought he say that he did! Probably not in good taste regarding there were fatalities but, couldn't help notice that when they packed the black boxes to be shipped they had bubble wrap and polystyrene chips in the boxes why, arn't they built to wiyhstand some serious impacts. Just an observation
Feel sorry for the people who lost their lives because of this dickhead pilot. But still I'm glad that the airplane had only 33 passengers. Really happy for the people who made through the crash. @mnetcallin Propellers? Don't you mean the blades of the jet engine? There are no propellers on a jet plane. The things under the wings with the 'propellers' you talk about are the jet engines of the plane.. there's usually 2 to 4 of them. The engines suck in air through the front and create thrust out the back end of the engine.

It's no way contraversial. Germany has a Right on independent laws. The Suiss has to respect them and prepare it's runways apropriate.

Lol wtf, this show is far too dramatic.... pilots don't act like that. They were portrayed as rude and disrespectful here, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case in the real thing regardless of whatever mistakes they might have made.

Probably not in good taste regarding there were fatalities but, couldn't help notice that when they packed the black boxes to be shipped they had bubble wrap and polystyrene chips in the boxes why, arn't they built to wiyhstand some serious impacts. Just an observation

Feel sorry for the people who lost their lives because of this dickhead pilot. But still I'm glad that the airplane had only 33 passengers. Really happy for the people who made through the crash. Extremely happy for the group of 21 people who never showed up for the flight. But for those 24 people who couldn't make it, feel sorry for them and their loved ones. RIP.

@SoulKittyKat i agree with you , i live 1 mile from LGA airport runway 31 , and plane abouve me is around 300 ft and at night i do see some plane still landing at LGA runway 31 , but then after 10PM they airport is most likely to choose runway 4 or close since its a small domestic airport. and after 10pm i see no plane landing at all

Crossair was always a airliner with trouble. Swissair kept them alive, because they needed Crossair. A few moths after the crash, Swissair went bankrupt and Crossair took over Swissair's fleet and renamed itself Swiss International Airlines. Lufthansa bought Swiss and now the Germans rule over Swiss commercial aviation.

Friends, I am from australia and want to be a pilot when i grow up..But I have a question.When we talk about planes like boeing or airbus, we notice the two propellers attached downwards to the wings.Now where is the engine of the aircraft located?Is it attached behind the propeller or what?I am a bit confused with the location of the engine and the propeller thing, so pl. anyone it would be really great if u guys there could explain this stuff to me!! @mnetcallin Propellers? Don't you mean the blades of the jet engine? There are no propellers on a jet plane. The things under the wings with the 'propellers' you talk about are the jet engines of the plane.. there's usually 2 to 4 of them. The engines suck in air through the front and create thrust out the back end of the engine.

@790philip because that's a warning that just warns the pilots when ever the plane is near any type of hard surface. Which include hills and mountains. i think, im not a pilot so dont take my word for it :)
