  • my mushkin chronos delux raid i is way faster ^^ xD

  • .. but will it blend?

  • wise money managment fail.

  • dude those ssd its the model only writes at 70mb/s

  • You people who are saying that its too small and a waste of money are fucking retards. You are not, and I repeat, NOT buying an SSD for capacity! That's what mechanical hard drives are for. You're getting an SSD for 200+MB/s read AND write speeds, and 0.1 ms access times. HDD's access times are about 13ms. 13 milliseconds versus a TENTH of a millisecond? Think about it.

  • Music track title?

  • will mafia 2 lauch faster on 1 ssd

  • do programs open faster

  • how do u make the ssd in raid0

  • Seagate Momentus XT is not half bad either, its the first of hybrid SSD drives, plus it performs well.

  • @mikeccuk2006 And Cheaper :)

  • to slow but the vidio is old.

  • What's the life of an SSD if your gaming on it?

  • @enigmafirst a really long time. Gaming on an SSD doesn't involve that many writing operations ..

  • What is your configuration?

  • lol my 1tb 7200rpm hd loads just as fast lol

  • @ThePsychoGamer1337 No it doesn't

  • @lizardmannnn umm yes... it does

  • This video is almost 1 year old, the PC is already disassembled. Back then it was interesting as SSDs were new tech, nowadays it's just another video.

  • @namcojr well thanks anyway, because for me and my purse SSDs are still new tech ;) So you recommend it to be used with the OS only? Why is that?

  • OOOOHH MY FUCKING GGOODD THAT WAS CRYSIS LOADING, THANK YOU MAN, YOU DROPPED MY JAW, IM NOT EVEN KIDDING, I SAW IT LOAD IN 10 SECS AND WAS LIKE HHHUUUUUUUUUU but what are your specs, the processor etc.

  • poha.. serah q ninguem conhece o fraps nao??

  • i sold my x25 for a raptor i like both xD the x25 is much faster but is terrible for capacity and since i own over 200GB worth of games it cannot store them all so i chose the raptor.

  • is it me or are the Intel X25's way overpriced for not having a good write speed?

  • in order to execute this shit, does the game have 2 be installed on the SSD itself, or can it be the 1TB hdd for ex???

  • What's the music playing in the background?

  • @C4LYFE1 I think a 40g ssd drive for 115.00 is worth it

  • i'm going to wait till the cost goes down before i pick one of these up. it doesn't matter how many seconds less it takes for it to load, i'd still feel like shit if i bought one at the current price lol

  • @AndrewDaniele87 agreed, man haha =D. after it loads, it's all good anyways.

  • why not just buy a floppy drive and fill it with cement..... then you will have a solid state drive for a lot cheaper than this!!

  • @steevyp ARE YOU SAYING YOU DONT LIKE SSD?

  • @luis61961944 haha, no!! i'd love an SSD, but i cant aford one so im resigned to filling my floppy drive with cement :)

  • @steevyp lmfao

  • @monkeyturds how did it feel to pay $500+ for a hard drive just so your $50 game can load fast?

  • @ranivus

small HDD too @_@ waste of money

  • If you have the money, it's paradise.

  • @namcojr

If you have money you will buy that: OCZSSDPX-ZD2P882T google it x]

  • @namcojr Paradise Lost u mean

  • @deluxedookie ssd for your apps + a cheap 1 tb = AWESOME SPEED

  • @deluxedookie you dont get the point of this. these hdd's are not for space but extreme performance. of course youll still store your hd-rips on a regular hd.

  • @PimYuTub

if you already have a stong pc your only gonna gain a couple seconds load up. after it load off the HDD its gonna be on your ram anyways i have 12GB i have not probs but on a slow pc or laptop yeah you'll get a nice boost. i know its not for space but it is a waste of a partition.

  • @deluxedookie its not wasted,if u kind of tired of wait for the loading then the ssd is the solution..

  • You're missing the point. I don't even load games off my SSDs, they're meant to be used with the OS. If you ever get one (or more), you'll know how it feels.

  • @namcojr Well, I will use it for my games. I'll get 64 gb. Maybe 7 gb to Win7. Then I can install like 8 games on it = PARADISE :D

  • That's comical, it reminds me of the tuner vs muscle argument. You bring money into the argument and everyone shits a brick and gives you a thumb down haha. Kudos for those with more money than intelligence. I think I'll wait until they're more cost effective.

  • @ranivus jealous much?

  • @ranivus

    $500?

You can get a 30GB SSD for $90,

Win 7 is 12GB and Crysis is 8GB, so that is enough, and put everything else on a regular HDD.

or you can get a 60GB SSD for $140

If there is one or two games you play all the time that typically have long load times, then spending $90 is not so bad, sure you can't put everything on there, but that doesn't matter.

  • @ranivus feels good man

  • Now thats how its done!

  • Mine loads that fast on a single 256GB Corsair SSD

  • F### man i have to wait 10 minutes :D

  • @Shas221 how about the wait time to load from a save in GTA 4...

  • never bought that game should try it once though :D

  • Doesn't Raid slow down the boot time as opposed to using an SSD/HDD alone.

  • @daspand boot time will be slow with a raid setup yes. but its definitely worth the wait!!

  • How much slower is it though ?

  • My Velociraptor RAID 0+1 setup loads a bit faster than that - seriously. Regardless, that's still fast as heck and I'm sure your two X25's will smoke my 4 Raptors in most of the hard drive benchmarks.

  • holy $hit! That's fast

  • SSD's in RAID0 pwn ALL!! Seems like I'm running a whole different system!

  • @35057 nope. ssd's in raid 5 pwm all mate, cos they will ahve the speed AND the robustness. :)

  • which intel x25 are you using?

  • X25-M Generation 1, 80GB x2

  • so does it load up faster with raid 0. thinking of using raid 0

  • what the name of the song? plz :)

  • No idea, i chose some random youtube one...

  • i like the song .. what's the name of it ?

  • is the game defragged and you should get disk keeper cuz it has SSD defrag technology

  • I thought you didn't have to defrag SSDs...?

  • Well SSD defrag is different than Harddrive... On hard drives it moves the files in order from most used to least so the hard drive head doesnt have to move as much, for SSD's it divides the data into the SSD chips.

  • You don't defrag SSD's, if you do, it will only shorten the product life cycle.

Besides when you have an SSD be sure to install Windows 7, it has many features that improve performance on SSD's compared to Vista and below.

  • As far as i know, you don't really need to defrag your hard drives in windows 7 or Vista. It is done automatically.

  • You are not supposed to defrag them, also turn autodefrag of if windows 7 didn't do that already. Don't believe me then search it on google.

  • Well then how are we suppose to increase its speed?

  • TRIM, a command that erases the data aswell when you delete something, instead of only the library (LGA). There is already firmware for the X-25M that enabled the trim command. It doesn't work on raid0 configs at this time, the raid controller manufacturer has to make a patch for it.

  • vista defrag sucks ass, for vista u just get a 3rd party defragger like the one from IObit

  • I counted 10.5 second from pressing load to click to continue not bad for a $800 worth of just hard drives but why do i expect like 5 seconds or less.

  • Because you expect too much ;)

I bought these for abour 600 euro, you can get them for as low as 480-ish now and they're slightly better too.

  • Are you fucking kidding me, RAID 0 SSD's?! That's like my nerdy dream come true.

    I'm jealous :(

  • Have you compared one x25-m and 2x x25-m (raid 0) and does everything run faster in the raid setup? What about IOPS? Do you get twice the amount of random write IOPS?

I'm considering buying either one 160GB x25-m G2 or 2x 80GB x25-m G2 (which will run in RAID 0). What do you recommend?

  • Get the 2x 80 gb x25-m G2's, and have one for the os and the other specifically for the apps

  • Could you tell me the name of the song? I really like it. thx

  • i have only one x25m and it loads in about da same time..

  • Yeah the difference isn't much in Crysis or other similar applications. Where you notice the difference is, for example, loading FSX - It's way faster.

  • screw you idiot

  • What's the song?

  • Sad thing is the intros take longer than the game to load a level. Fucking EA non-skippable CRAP.

  • Dude you can skip the Intros. Just Rename al .mov files in crysis folder and ull never see any intro again!

  • Yeah, you can "skip" all intros like that.

No, wait, you can't. Some EA games I've played you needed to replace them with a very short video in the right format. If you just deleted them it wouldn't even start.

  • Just insert a _ in the filename before the . and it flows ;)

Works since day 1 since release for me. so do it.

  • For Crysis, maybe. I remember NSF Underground 2. That one didn't even start without functional intro movies.

  • fuucking incredible. im thinking about buying two of these too for my os and my main apps and games. and then two caviar blacks for my storage (1tb versions). all four drives will be running in raid0.

  • fuck

  • I read the X25-M gets ~250MB/s Reads and ~70MB/s Writing speeds.

How much are you getting in your RAID0 setup using that onboard raid controller?

  • I tested only once, reading goes about 517MB/s for 512K blocks and write about 130MB/s. Write isn't all that important, read and IOPs are.

  • Holy mother of god! It feels so fast, so responsive. Lol =P

I currently have an e6600 with a 285GTX, and everything loads so slow because of my stupid HDD. It takes almost 5 minutes to even turn on my computer, but I can play UT3 and COD4 at more than 100fps. HDDs are a terrible bottleneck to any PC, even modern ones.

Watching this video makes we wonder how World of Warcraft will perform, since the maps are so ginormous and so many add-ons running, that it access the HDD more often than a FPS.

  • playing wow is on a 285 is well not really showing what that card can do, wow is not graphically intensive enough to even strain a 8800 series card let alone a 200 series card.

  • You'll be surprised. WOW is my second most demanding game, the first been Crysis. Most claim WOW is coded poorly.

I mean, I get 100fps in COD4 with MAX settings, max AA. Same thing for UT3, but there I can go as high as ~150fps.

However in WOW I'm getting ~25fps in cities and raids, while 60fps outside. That's unacceptable for a game so old, I want constant 60fps, since 25fps feels laggy. Hopefully SSD can help me a bit.

  • its is exactly coding, ive seen people have trouble with a gtx 295 and poor performance in wow, then you see a guys system do great with a 8-9 series card. wow was not made to be as graphically impressive and it isnt,, i dont even know if wow has sli support yet. i have many games that would demolish wow graphically.

  • If you have done your research, then you will know that WoW is a "CPU" intensive game. If you overclock your CPU, then you will see a massive increase on your fps.

  • is that onboard raid?

  • Yup, ICH10R.

  • That's funny, I was actually curious about how if I got an SSD, how fast the loading times of games would be. Thanks for the video! How much did the SSD drives cost you?

  • Around 330 eur each, these are 80GB X25-M. It's very very noticeable, everything feels WAY faster and you can, for instance, open outlook and photoshop at the same time and they simply pop up instantly at the same time. Incredible.
